A good villain after Kamoshida.
Futaba should've been cut from the game
A good villain. The big targets weren't even that bad. Shit most of the undeveloped MEMEntos bosses were more villainous.
Group adventures/shenanigans
Too much of it was couples based.
Narrative, story, and maybe characters but that's iffy.
It lacks more polls
goodDecember music
Absolutely not. P4 made it clear that having too many group events is awful.
Makoto too in favor of Hifumi.
GirlxGirl romance
group activities
A better ending. And more 5head.
I think it could have used one or two group events, Haru should have been introduced earlier, Goro could have been handled better and music should have changed with the seasons. Otherwise, I have no real complaints.
Komoshitda is over-hyped as fuck.
>still no Metis
I guess I'll vote Mitsuru again.
A good, not retarded, ending
Hifumi not being a bigger part of the story
Live action combat
Good point, memories of the city was great in p3. They should have had an instrumental theme of the credits playing.
Having both a male and female protag would be great. Still rate P3P higher than P4G because of it.
Dinosaurs.
Sex scenes
Reactivity in cutscenes depending on player confidant ranks.
When Makoto and I go shopping I don't want her telling Hifumi I'm just carrying stuff and then nothing. Get flustered for a sec at least. Hifumi could have sounded a little aggressive if I was going steady with her until they start talking to each other and hit it off.
Realism. I feel like the promotional material and prologue were a bait-n-switch. The guns, costumes, code names, more realistic settings, and the switch back to Kaneko demon designs instead of demons made it seem like the combat would take place in a real world setting like Personas 1 & 2.
Yeah, they should have let you aim down the sights of your firearms as well. How could they miss such a critical concept in a jrpg?
JoJo: Eyes of Heaven proved that real-time summoning-based combat is goddamn awful.
>go to listen and learn about politics from a legitimate politician and great public speaker
>he just speaks in the broadest, most vague terms about society and corrupt government
>learn how to extort money from demons but still have no concept of politics
O-okay...
Good dialogue choices. 90% of the time you have dialogue choices, your options are all samey. You also aren't given choices in a lot of situations I feel like they're warranted.
Aeon Confidant where?
The palaces were explained in great detail, and the first trailer that showed them also showed you jumping inside a painting from Madarame.
Were you on media blackout or something?
GOOD
GROUP
EVENTS
When Marie returns in P5 Crimson.
More than 10 hours of actual Gameplay
Story
Good characters
Agreed. Shido is also the most generic corrupt politican you could possibly write. People who call him Japanese Armstrong do Armstrong a disservice because he actually had an ideology.
Taking more money from the demons is a metaphor for how the working people are treated by the government
deep
>he actually had an ideology.
So did Shido.
No shit he seems like a generic corrupt politician. Shido just wants to be on top; the rest of the country can drown in the ocean or burn in nuclear fire for all he cares.
All I watched were the first two Japanese trailers, Haru's trailer, and the English launch trailer (big mistake on this one.)
It's not SMT. SMT is an actual video game, persona is a VN for autistic, friendless losers trying to relive high school.
/thread
They compressed too much content into last 2 month of the game, game should've been longer or start earlier.
Both of them are good except DDS
obvious troll is obvious
Any SMT games are jokes compared to Persona 5 gameplay-wise. P5 gets the crown of best jrpg battle system from FFX-2.
What's wrong with DDS?
>Best MegaTen OST
>Second best story
>Fixed party but highly customizable
>Turn Press
>Decent dungeons
I liked it but know that Nocturne and P5 are better.
try harder tomorrow, pal
One More is objectively the shallowest battle system in any MegaTen game.
Fuck you. DDS is good.
How exactly?
>no fusion
>no negotiations
>only 3 characters usable at a time
>characters with personalities that consist of a single emotion
>brown-and-gray Gears of War setting
>ambushes out the ass
>Heat, the most annoying SMT character ever voiced by Crispin "scream all of my dialogue" Freeman.
I love how this was made nearly 10 years ago as a troll but it's still as true as ever.
Why not both?
DDS is just SMT+FF.
>no negotiations
Persona 3 and 4 had a fucking card game instead of fusions and Heat is fine during DDS2, it's called character development.
Fun events.
>Live action combat
Meant to say negotiations not fusions.
It's SMT minus everything people like about it other than press turns.
In P4 and P3 leveling up your stats took way less time and were way less annoying to do. I don't want to have to think about what's the best way to upgrade particular stats, I just want to do it and get it out of the way so I can do Social Links. A solid 20 percent of my time in my P5 run was spent dicking around upgrading pointless stats that don't make me any better in combat, don't give me extra dialogue options, and are required for finishing certain Social Links. Why would you give me a gun in a bag and then force me to do like a month and a half of solid Guts training to just TALK to fucking Iwai?
More events with your friends that weren't the fucking cat telling you to go to sleep/fucking eating. Hawaii was incredibly rushed and served no point for the actual story, and was merely included so that you could see your waifu in a swimsuit. The P5 cast felt more like acquaintances than real friends like in P3 or P4.
Also your character barely if ever fucking speaks. In P3 and 4 he was always contributing something to the conversation, but in this game your character can go like four different cutscenes without contributing ANYTHING to the conversation at hand. All this does is disconnect you from the character. No fun options that are locked behind your stats are a letdown as well.
Mementos is shit, and they should've just had a remixed Palace you could enter with remixed dungeons and stronger enemies, with a special boss enemy that gives you access to incredibly powerful gear.
More months.
Nah mate, P5 has 20+ year old hunnies now.
Just like P3 and P4 you can level up all your social stats and slinks on the first playthrough. Pull your head in.
I feel like the only thing the Jojo games proved were how to have a lot of style but absolutely no substance.
An orgy
Yeah it's technically possible to do it all in one playthrough if you micromanage your time and do everything on exact days. Micromanaging stat increases that does nothing for your gameplay is not fun, or recommended for your first time through.
ASB was great though
Villains that felt threatening, Shido was supposed to be the main baddie of the targets but he nevers feels threatening. The only times you interact with him is in the elevator and you only interact with him once with his shadow before defeating him.
Less involvement of the PT in events. Every event revolves around the PT, it's annoying since none of the characters talk about any other stuff (especially Mishima).
Better pacing when recruiting your members, and SL start. The kid's and Haru's SLs come way too late in the calendar, and both Yusuke and Haru SL start one month after you recruit them making them less useful during their dungeons.
Ability to kick Morgana into the Sun.
Nothing. It has an interesting story. Flexible gameplay between day and night. Amazing mechanics during gameplay. Almost every confidant has a mission in it. Fuck your teacher and other older woman. Only thing that could make it more interesting is having a Femprotag storyline added.
>no mainline SMT
fukken dropped
Best girl joining earlier.
What would a law themes Persona game be like?
Y'all Americans are weird
What's the likelihood of you making this just so you could post it here?
>Villains that felt threatening
*blocks your path*
kill yourself
> No fun options that are locked behind your stats are a letdown as well.
I remember that confronting Shido in the elevator requires guts, are there really no other instances of this? It really kills replayability when compared to P3 and P4 in this regard.
P3
Not much. I just rolled credits on my first playthrough about a half an hour ago, and at 124 hours, I am completely satisfied. This was one of the best JRPGs I've ever played, and I can't wait to play through it again, though I am going to give it a bit of time before I do that. I need some time to really let it sit, and reflect on all that time I spent with it.
Better pacing towards the end, Mementos especially was pretty shit and Haru could have used a bit more screen time.
Using SHITTY ADULTS as villains in instead of calling just calling them shitty people in general was a little jarring once the game went along
>SMTcucks
You can dodge a piece of chalk thrown at you early on in school.
Really? More shallow than Persona 2's fusion spells or whatever the fuck Strange Journey's alignment thing was called?
I went for NG+ and platinum trophy, now im in the end of the game realized that i've missed 1 FUCKING request from retarded Mishima. FUCK YOU MISHIMA, FUCK YOU PERSONA, THIS GAME IS GARBAGE.
>cucks
ASB isn't an RPG.
>and you only interact with him once with his shadow before defeating him
I felt this was a bit of a flaw too
I get that they were probably trying to keep his shadow a surprise seeing as how they didn't even put his silhouette on the security meter, but it would have made more sense to actually interact with him. Maybe even leverage his knowledge of cognitive psience so that he's fully aware of what you're doing in the real world and actively tries to stop you
Makotofags are the literal worst.
>Their beloved franchise got overshadowed by a spinoff
Fair enough, he's the best villain of the game. Which is fucking disappointing considering that Shido is supposedly one of the most powerful persons in Japan.
I kinda imagined that, but still it feels disappointing since there's only two instances of this.
who are you replying to? I don't play SMT or persona, you are so butthurt you can't even follow a reply chain
>no Labrys
Fuck off
Firstly
A MC who fucking talks with a proper personality.
There's no excuse dor this shit anymore, atlus have money and this ain't the old times. They need to stop half assing this by letting him have voiced lines at times.
You either make a true blank state no voice or a real character, not this bullshit hybrid.
Don't be ridiculous
Not forcing you to go to bed all the fucking time, and giving you more stuff to do at night to make up for it.
Fleshing out Akechi's arc. He goes from composed to angsty Adachi to "I care now" in like 15 minutes. For a character who played such a large role in the plot idk how they fucked his character up so much.
Making Shido an actual villain. What did he even want? The only reason they give you to care about changing his heart is because he kills people, but we don't get to understand his motives at all. For one of the main villains, how could they fuck him up so badly?
Making the second half of the game less shit. The last four dungeons all fucking suck, and there's even a noticeable quality drop in the pyramid too.
>space station
Worst dungeon in the game, no questions asked.
>casino
Overrated. Bland puzzles and repetitive backtracking.
>cruiser
Walk down the same massive hallway five times, this is fun, right?
>mementos
Literally padding tier. I just wanted the game to end.
Still a solid game though, 8/10. Worse than p3, better than p4.
Well to be fair he kind of does have some semblance of a personality with him being a a smug showoff. Though you are right that he needs more lines instead of leaving it out to us into making him a smug fuck or not
>Margaret 1 vote
a non cancerous fanbase
Game is amazing but I was waiting for character development and it never happened
Well the problem with the villains is that they progressively become more disconnected from the party and in turn the player which doesn't make it as engaging to take them down like it was with Kamoshida but this is kind of required for the plot since they want to 'make it big' and then Shido set up Okumura's.
For what it's worth I thought Madarame was pretty good.
>Worse than p3, better than p4.
Is this a meme? P4 better in literally every aspect compared to P3.
>I was waiting for character development and it never happened
Locking character development behind social links was a mistake.
