how? like actually, how? the dialogue is so fucking badly written in jessica jones i couldn't finish the first episode. It felt written by a middle schooler who was writing a "kickass girl" and just injected cursing into every other word and throwing sex scenes every where to show that she's an adult. Couldn't stand it at all, which sucks cause i really like David Tennet and wanted to see him.

The punisher is everything that's wrong with human baser desires in the face of perceived injustice. He's absolutist, cruel, murderous and vile.

He is not a hero. He does not claim to be. He does not do good things. He is literally just an engine of hatred that runs on hate and has no brakes until someone puts him down. The natural conclusion to character like Frank Castle is pretty much suicide - that is essentially what his entire story is. The Punisher is a chronicle of one broken. merciless, and hate-filled man's mass-murder suicide. The trouble is he's so good at the mass murder his actions haven't gotten him killed.

Same, that's why I liked it more than DD. Luke Cage was also surprisingly good. They definitely dropped the ball on Iron Fist though. It felt like there was too much going on, and none of it meant anything anyways

The Punisher exists as a manifestation of the way we wish Justice should work. Very clearly evil people without any chance of redemption get shot in the fucking head without things like lawyer's or corrupt law enforcement to back them up and let them run free, while in real life people can commit evil acts but we have to give them an honest chance at redemption, which isn't always easy in a moral or ethical sense. The Punisher is the simplification of all that. If he shot someone its because they were bad and if he doesn't shoot someone its because they weren't, they'res no grey area with him.
