GTA V is almost five years old. You would think we'd hear word of a new game by Rockstar North by now, but Redemption 2's announcement suggests that it won't be for some time.

Most people would argue about VC and SA, as SA came later and has more side activities, but VC is about 80's
3 is also nice, just a first attempt at 3D GTA

I just mean that Niko is the least irritating one there's been to date. He's humble and pragmatic - plus he has an interesting backstory.

CJ is as much a 'good guy' as Niko is.

Never got old. And goddammit Vice City was just the best GTA for going on killing sprees. The weapons felt so damn good. That M4, that Combat Shotgun, goddamn. It was so fast, too. No movement/animation gimps, tommy could sprint like a madman.

This is debatable.

He's more like a self-aware sociopath.

I didn't particularly like 4 either to be honest.
GTAV seemed to have so much to do, but pretty much all of it was so shallow there was really no point in doing it any longer than an hour or so. But many of those activities felt disconnected from the "main game", in a way the variety was a problem, combined with the lack of depth.

In GTA4, the activities seemed more in touch with the world, and flowed better into the main gameplay. Still not to a degree that could grab me for long, though.

What do you think, it's older than VC, and on the same engine.
One pretty much has to get widescreen fix, the SilentPatch, etc

The gunplay and driving were worse, the story and characters were worse and the mission design was worse.

Been here since 2010, GTA IV is one of the best games in the series, after San Andreas and GTA 3.

I don't understand how someone could love TBOGT while hating IV.

There's some new bits of content here and there, but overall it's the same game as IV. TBOGT even removed side content that was in the base game (clothing stores, vigilante missions etc.).

The focus on Online took a lot from the game. Also, having 3 characters was awful.
