It was a choice between 18 END and 48 VIT, I felt my health was fine and I particularly wanted VIT and BLT to be rounded numbers. I don't regret it, it allows me 1 extra hit using the bloodletter with the minuscule amount of stamina I have left over from those extra 3 levels. Much more useful.

The best weapon is easily DeS Estoc, and everyone else who says otherwise is literally retarded and knows nothing about the games:
>R1 is a good poke but nothing fancy. Worse than most other good weapon's pokes due to no infinite.
>Rolling R1 is a solid distance poke that grants a free R1/f+R1 if meaty (both stances).
>R2 is slow but tracks decently, and grants a free R1/f+R1 (both stances).
>Dash R1 is super slow but has a lot of manual control, and grants a free R2 to R1/f+R1 (both stances).
>Off-hand katana grants a free R1/f+R1 and can be landed after an R2, leading to unique 4-hit combos like Run R1, R2, L1, R1/f+R1.
>f+R1 stuffs backstabs and is used as a combo ender and spacing tool.
>Blockpoke shits on certain weapons (notably 2-kat).

It's the only weapon where every move (aside from the R1/f+R1 combo enders) can lead to a guaranteed follow-up, and the only weapon in all 5 games that has a 4-hit unique move combo. Also, all the combos work in both hands, however using it with a shield or an off-hand have great benefits.
