POST THE #1 THING THAT MAKES YOU QUIT THE GAME RIGHT ON THE SPOT AND NOT COME BACK TO IT FOR MONTHS.
Save file corruption, or having to start over.
Western game
game with multiple characters, choices but only one ending.
Get bored of it
...
Difficult fetch quest with no direction or logic.
A camera search section is the only reason I never finished Metroid: Other M.
I'm talking about games you enjoy, but then theres that fuck you moment where you just throw your controller and shut down whatever console or PC you have
>gg ez no re xD
missing a save and losing hours of progress for a simple mistake or a game breaking bug
nothing more disheartening than knowing that you have to progress through the exact same things again before continuing
artificial difficulty
made by blizzard
>seeing my reflection in the screen
>beating a level, or doing something awesome and then realizing I have no friends to show or talk about it to
Thankfully I'm able to get immersed in most of the games I play, but the feels hit when that immersion breaks.
>gg
it wasnt gg
If I find a typo, there's a good chance I'll never return. Literally unplayable.
This happened to my with trails in the sky. I was 8 hours into the steam version and my save corrupted, the only save I have now is one from the cloud which is 2 hours in.
"Looks like there won't be cutscenes for a while"
>Map shows you need to go up 20 floors of grabbing keys to unlock gates and the same 3 enemies
Getting set back in progress.
Was playing Gravity Rush 2 and there was a small power outage. When it was done repairing the external hard drive my most recent save was several hours back.
Haven't touched the game in weeks, which sucks because it was fucking amazing.
I fucking dropped Dragon's Dogma because of this, I haven't played it since...
This.
>Harder difficulty = Enemies take/deal more damage and you take/deal less
fuck that. it's why I never understood NG+ in Souls games.
>mfw friend talking about game hes excited about and enjoying
>mfw he doesn't know I had it and have been playing it for weeks now
>mfw I lost my saves
>mfw I hate him for enjoying it because I lost all my save progress
>mfw I hate the game and don't want to talk about it anymore
"That game looks like shit bro"
My KH2 save game got corrupted years ago and I haven't gone back to it since then. I think I was in the Little Mermaid world, I fought some guy with a guitar, beat the motherfucker and went off to bed after saving. Next time I wanted to play, it couldn't detect any saved games anymore. Fucked off from the entire franchise ever since.
>get through 50+ hour rpg
>after finishing the game, start going through sidequests while checking a guide for reference
>find out from the guide that i missed an extra one-time super-powerful item because i forgot to talk to a minor npc during a 5-minute timeframe halfway through the game
>forever haunted by the knowledge that my game is stuck at 99% complete rather than 100%
>not worth starting over just to talk to one fucking npc
At least my favorite game isn't Final Fantasy IX. I'd kill myself before doing a completionist run of that game.
Honestly if I play game for hours in one day I'll typically burn myself out and not come back to it for months, this is why I've never finished a game of Civilisation or any Grand Strategy game
Oh my fucking god I've been there, it sucks even fucking worse when you fail certain quests and are locked out because you complete others.
Thanks Todd
Any strategy game that is scripted to make you lose.
Done. Bye. No more.
Depends, I recently quit wow after they went blatantly all in on social justice though.
I was already kind of bored so it was more the straw that broke the camels back than anything.
>Game has multiple classes/customization/builds for your characters
>make a party
>progress to the game, become stuck at a boss that keeps kicking my ass
>after several tries, finally check online if there's something I'm missing
>Turns out I wasn't building my party as everyone else, and therefore it was too shit to do anything.
What is the fucking point of having several ways to play if unless i play as the game says it will not work.
Mandatory stealth section in a non-stealth game.
Games like Red Orchestra 2/RS2
>Feel like playing some krautwarfare
>hop into game
>try to find a proper server with actual humans playing
>find a 57/64 server
>Join
>after 2 minutes of loading... Destination: Main Menu
>server is full
or
>get into a game
>can't get literally anything done without getting shot from kilometer away
>repeat for 15 times
nothing makes me ragequit harder
>hard as fuck part that takes ages if you haven't git gud
>finally after hours of trying get through it
>FUCKING GPU SUDDENLY OVERHEATS
>didn't save
or crashes in general
Never has anything made me as angry as For Honor's bum fuck broken-ass p2p network. Every fucking game.
>Your network connection has been interrupted. Returning to title screen.
I AM PORTED FORWARD WITH A FLAWLESS 120mb/s FIBEROPTIC INTERNET CONNECTION. FIX YOUR SHIT UBISOFT. POORFAGS WITH POOR CONNECTIONS FUCKING LEAVE. Or at LEAST give people with good connections some priority. Jesus. And then there's
>There aren't enough people in the lobby. Returning to main menu.
>Could not join session-lobby is full. Returning to main menu.
Why do I have to return to the main menu every fucking time? Is it impossible to automatically start matchmaking again, like LITERALLY EVERY OTHER MP GAME THAT EXISTS? FUCK! What a fucking letdown. It would be a lot of fun if it was actually playable.
>Playing with a friend who has a shitty intel HD
>he gets host because NBN
>Entire time the game is lagging and rubber banding
>have no fucking clue what the fuck is happening
>GG EZ
>turns out i was standing still the entire time
>His shistation laptop ended up giving him an advantage
Yeah nah fuck P2P
Collectables right at the beginning which are unobtainable without some lategame power or gadget. Seriously, this will hang at the back of my mind the whole time I play and there will be no joy in the game anyway, so it will be easier to just drop it.
When the kickass prologue is over, and you get showered with pointless fetch quests, and filler story.
Completing the game.
how many scoops Rich?
>oh no your main party got kidnapped!
>time to use your underleveled back ups to fight a boss!!!
Fucking this.
I didn't save a game of Gothic 2 back in 2002 and had to redo 6 hours of gameplay.
took me a month to continue. That's why i save every 5 minutes or at any given chance to this day.
I'm still mad
FRAAAAMPF
*kills the audience*
YOU GONNNA GET TWO SCOOPZ?
TWO SCOOOPZ
GRONAAALD
>RNG of any kind. I once spent like five hours trying to get a pair of pants I wanted Xenoverse and just dropped the game after only getting the same gloves over and over. EVERY piece of armor should be sold by a vendor or dropped by a specific enemy. Im so tired of RNG.
>Enemies that do retarded amounts of damage with a single hit. Souls games are bad at this, especially at the bosses.
>Running through the same places over and over (Dragons Dogma)
>Confusing world maps or quest lines
>Overly cryptic hidden shit or super duper secret quest lines (Souls games again)
>Losing all your guns just at the moment when you got them all
Thats really all I can think of. Nowadays I just drop a game the moment im not having fun so I never get too angry. I once deleted a Balders Gate saved game at like the 80% completion mark and had to do a 20 something hour storyline over again. That pissed me off.
Wiping on a gank fight and losing hours of progress because my dumbass got cocky and dident save
Overwatch. Honestly its not incredilby bad, but like one sitting is more than enough for me. It needs to have better maps.
no pain no game
>tfw NWN 2 saves died after almost 30h
fuck obsidian
>game features humans
get gud fgt
>Route suddenly splits into left and right paths
I'm out, my nigga! F I N I S H E D.
Any modern RPG should really just autolevel your back up niggers. Anything else is straight up tedium for the sake of it.
Really shitty forced actions that are extremely obviously bad but can not be avoided in any way whatsoever even though they should be easily avoidable. And then they have the fucking gall to try to make you feel bad about doing it.
Needless to say I dropped spec ops the line right there.
>Game has a good deal of cutscenes that are long
>Can't pause them or skip them
SHITTY FUCKING CHECKPOINTS
Playing RO2 recently and this.
I really think i wanna improve but EVERY FUCKING TIME i get shot at and I DONT KNOW FROM WHERE.
Its not even funny, in CQB i CAN be somewhat good at this shit but it seems like if everybody's game have no fog in outside maps and can see perfectly clear up to 800 meters.
TWO SCOOPS CMON!
Depression.
PvP nerfs to weapons both used in PvP and PvE despite them being separate entities.
WHEN I LOAD UP A GAME AND FORGET TO TAKE MY FIRST SIP OF THE DAY
on the warsword mod for mount and blade when i defend the peasents from (((bandits))) and they turn out to be 24 chaos trolls - which seems to be every single time.
It depends 100% on my mood. But usually when it's a giant pain in the ass to load up a game. I waver between fuck this shit and spending 30-40 mins to get some game to run properly.
My biggest one is when you exhaust all options and have to download some sketchy file from some Russian site. That's usually when I uninstall and don't come back.
>goal: collect 3 of X item from (difficult monster)
>Did not collect item!
>Did not collect item!
>Did not collect item!
>Did not collect item!
>Did not collect item!
>Did not collect item!
backtracking
THIS
THIS SHIT
FUCKING FUCK
You sound like a cunt
>game has this resource system
>makes you get new shit at the speed of a snails orgasm.
>everything is expensive to the point where you are bankrupt just for getting some stupid shit that barely helps you
>apparently burning time and forcing players to wait days to enjoy the game is a fucking feature.
Having to follow a large number of quests with a guide to make sure you don't lock yourself out content.
realize i missed a secret and i can't go back
>crit rapier build in Neverwinter 2
>Game has a gamebreaking bug near the end of the game that has never been fixed despite all the people who's complained about it
>The game is also great otherwise
Why did you do this to me, Dragonfall
Oh look, it's a console port by people who are inable to include a proper save function.
900mb save files.
Rubber band AI
that fucking slider that change all the face of your character in all the Souls
Fire emblem?
>SMT/Persona games
>making hours of progress
>suddenly get bad RNG on a trash mob and die
>get sent back to the title screen
>all that progress gone in an instant due to a shitty diceroll
Shit like that is why I can't get into turn-based games.
>shit oneshots you
Wrestling game where I can't block because I was too fast
TOO FAST
TOO SLOW I UNDERSTAND
BUT NOT BEING ABLE TO BLOCK BECAUSE I HIT THE PROMPT TOO FAST? I'M SORRY 2SHITK I DIDN'T REALISE YOU OPERATE ON SOME SORT OF HYPERTHETICAL SUPER TIME DIMENSION WHERE 0.0000001 TENTHS OF A SECOND IS PERFECT TIMING
Worse: accidentally saving in an unwinnable position.
Politics. Please just fuck right off.
first person
Getting interested in a new game
I've half-finished most of the games I've played just because I get distracted by something else I want to play
I STILL need to finish DMC4
>game includes anything that, A. has anything to do with human beings, and B. upsets me
>FUCKING POLITICS IN MY VIDEO GAMES
Sure, it does happen sometimes, but 99% chance you're just an easily upset faggot who needs to delude himself into think he's making a valid criticism.
Does save file corruption still happen? It has never happened to me, not on consoles or pc
I will never undertand people who make up entirely different arguments so they can defeat them. What didnyou prove?
Why would you need a manual save in rocksmith?
Open world games where there's things to do, but they're really far away from each other. I really liked the beginning of red faction guerrilla because things were close together and you could demolish stuff really easily. Then you get to the second area and have to drive these huge stretches with nothing to look at while driving at a snail's pace. Not even the fast travel system they give you is good, since the safehouses are so far out of the way. If an open world game doesn't have a good fast travel, or an easy way to move quickly, it's getting dropped
Random difficulty spikes for literally no reason, or stupidly cryptic/illogical puzzles that are required to progress. I will never finish Silent Hill 2, a Souls game, SMT Nocturne or pretty much any Lucasarts point and click because of this.
>Silent Hill 2
>Difficult puzzles
What did you get stuck on?
Timed escort mission
lol. where are those "git gud" fuckers at? they should be crawling out of the wood work defending their lively hood.
Western Trash.
When the game is very long and there's some climactic event towards the end and you think it's over, that's it. Then it turns out the game's gonna stretch on even longer. Happened with Witcher 3, after Ciri did that edgy screaming shit at Kaer Morhen, I thought that's it, but no. Dropped the game for 5 months.
Realizing I didn't minmax right/enough to get optimal stats.
>back when no hunger
>carrying a lot of valuable stuff
>fall in lava
>delete world
FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK
Japanese shit
The box with a bunch of locks on it. I played on the hardest puzzle difficulty because I consider myself pretty competent at solving puzzles, but I honestly couldn't wrap my head around it. I guess I didn't help myself.
>boss in an rpg that makes you have to change the classes of all your party members to beat him
>this means lots of grinding
I don't really get angry, but when I quit there and I remember that's what I have to do everytime I want to get back to playing it, it makes me never start it again.
Games with an overly-complicated control/combat scheme
Putting it down for a week and forgetting how to fight the mid-game enemies because you have to press P to inject adrenaline at the right point while making sure to push UP to hit the zoomer spheres for extra combo points before crashing everything with a Z-Z-G finisher (don't forget to hammer the spacebar during the taunt for extra points, you'll need them for upgrades later)
I don't want to play the fuggin tutorial every time I pick up the game. I want to be able to just pick up the game, fight a few guys, and then continue on, like I can with Devil May Cry or Ninja Gaiden games.
What kind of weird-ass japanese games do you play?
>Dying just before the next checkpoint.
You should look at the Merciless difficulty in Persona 5
>everything can oneshot you
>experience is cut by 60%
>your attacks do next to nothing unless it's a weakness
>no continues unless it's a boss fight
Everyone only plays Merciless for NG+ where it's slightly bearable because the compendium carries over but still it's horseshit.
i would never tell my friends what games i had because they would always want to borrow them if they didn't have them or haven't played them and the games would be returned to me in a rough condition. learned that early on. my genesis games would come back with the sticker title scratched up or the cart would have scuff marks on it. and those cardboard boxes the carts went in wold be smashed to fucking oblivion.
