7Sins had some interesting things going on. I like how the objects you were around influenced your conversation choices and I thought it was neat that getting a good relationship with someone made it easier to become friends with their relatives since you were their dad's friend or husband's friend. I'd like to see some kinda western porn game about navigating social situations again some day.
Ultimately though it's a really shitty game that isn't worth playing. The level design really falls apart after the department store and the only way to avoid an autistic tantrum is by playing terrible minigames that take forever to load.
Rule of Rose is one of my favorites. The story is super interesting and the atmosphere is there and all the surrealism is top notch. It gets even better once you learn more about what's actually going on and the story of Jennifer's past. And I love the childish setting with all the scribbled drawings and text. Seriously 10/10.
But whoever thought that combat was okay must have came from a different planet. Jennifer doesn't have any invincibility so imps can chain grab you forever and those fish can drain 50% of your health in just a second. And early on you'r trying to avoid combat but the farther you get into the game the more combat there is. The last couple chapters are just series of battle arenas and even a monster hunting quest. These are the same guys who made Chulip and I don't remember the combat in that game being half as bad.
