don't start as mage
backtrack often between towns
take your time and have fun

It's a shit

>inb4 wolfs hunt in packs
make sure your pawn is the same class as you, or you gonna have problems.

Wolves hunt in packs.

S T R I D E R

Oh and most importantly, all roads lead to Gran Soren

Wolves hunt in packs.

Also, have a mage in your party, especially one that can summon fire weapons for you. Definitely useful at lower levels. Just hit level 20, probably wouldn't have gotten here as quickly as I did without my mage.
Also, you can go rent a pawn that someone else made, so that'll give you a bit of an edge. Feels like cheating, but fuck it.

Lvl. 20 strider here.

wolves hunt in packs

>tfw you will never play DD for the first time again

all roads lead to gran soren

>Also, you can go rent a pawn that someone else made, so that'll give you a bit of an edge. Feels like cheating, but fuck it.
The game is meant to be played with a party of four, including two rented pawns.

Even in numbers a weakling is a weakling still

>tfw new players will never experience the wind pushing them

goblins are weak to fire

strength in numbers arisen!

Stop buying into Sup Forums hype and play a better game.

goblins are weak to ice and fire both!

Quickly learn the difference between ought and aught.

Loli pawns are to be fed to the brine.

Yeah, I just figured out that I could have more than two pawns. Was pleasantly surprised, but now I want to level up my two-handed pawn to balance it out. I also have given him next to jack shit because I've been saving up for 80k gold for that dick evicting those people.

>he doesn't have the mod that replaces the new song with the old one

>When you throw an enemy off a cliff down a 50 foot drop for the first time
Boy it's satisfying.

This.

post your qt pawns and arisens

>dicking around in postgame everfall for the first time
>mfw chamber of fate

thankfully the menu music is beautiful.

Sequel when?

>did everfall after fully clearing BBI

did I fuck up?

The uninstall wizard

Jap or English audio?

Strider/Ranger.Magick Archer are the best classes because they have range and the best melee.
Mystic Knight is good, but gimmicky.
Mage/Sorcerer are strong, but boring because you're just going to be standing there channeling spell after spell for a long time.
Fighter/Warrior are shit because no ranged options meaning they can't do shit 90% of the time. Rank them up just so you can get the Strength/Defense Augments.
Assassin is a meme.

Your Pawn learns some nuanced things based on what they witness, not just their enemy knowledge or inclinations, but their behavior and use of Skills in combat. Play as the same class or hire some experienced Pawns of the same class to make them mimic more efficient behavior.
A lot of skills that you as the player can capitalize on, a Pawn will never be able to do. Equip them with no-bullshit fast attack skills. For example, don't give your ranger pawn Mighty Bend or a Warrior pawn Arc of Deliverance as they'll keep fucking up with the long charge time and ultimately doing jack shit.

You first

For character build: Decide if you will rely on strength or magic. Stat gains matter overall. After you decide, you can decide on a main advanced vocation, but there is no harm trying them out to find what is most fun for you.

For traversal: Learn the shortcuts /do the quests that lead you to portcrystals.

For mobs: They die easily. Just be careful till you reach level 10 or so and buy some equipment, some guys like saurians can be a pain. Play with a full party, it's piss easy to get XP.

For big monsters: Elemental weaknesses make fights go almost twice as fast.
Climbing on them always benefits you in some way, find where to climb and where to target (unless you are a spellcaster). Stat boosters are useful.

Do not sell any material/tools/curatives, only weapons/armor.

Do not try BitterBack Isle till you hit like level 50.

Contrary to popular belief, they are NOT masterworks all.

Somehow don't have any pictures of my pawn.

I imagine it makes the Everfall into a fucking cakewalk.

not before DMC 5 or ill fuck Capcom up.

You'll miss half the fun of the game if you don't understand what your pawns are saying. English is the original dub, if that impacts your decision.

Goblins ill like fire.

Also, Selene is the best girl

>Your Pawn learns some nuanced things based on what they witness, not just their enemy knowledge or inclinations, but their behavior and use of Skills in combat. Play as the same class or hire some experienced Pawns of the same class to make them mimic more efficient behavior.

I think this is the biggest reason people said pawns are retarded, because they would always go for a diverse party, like fighter, mage, strider, and then the arisen as some hybraid class. because in any other rpg thats the most optimal, but in DD it breeds a bunch of retard pawns that dont know how to do shit because they have no one to learn from

>You'll miss half the fun of the game if you don't understand what your pawns are saying.
>tfw turned off pawn chatter

Is that the one with the lick that summons all the skeleton sorcerers that later cast spells while skeleton lords spawn later?
Or the one with the 2 cockatrices?

Nah, it's the Chimera + Gorechimera + Lich.
It wasn't terribly difficult but my pawns kept focusing the Gorechimera instead of the Lich so I spent a good half of the fight getting torn up by Hellhounds.

i did that one yesterday
took forever
i fucking hate hellhounds

How many hours does it take on average to experience the whole game with the Dark Arisen content?

I feel like playing duo (Arisen + Main Pawn only) is too difficult at times, while playing with additional pawns is far too easy, if only because they can act as a distraction. It's a shame that the game doesn't scale difficulty based on party size as that would be interesting.

Anyway, what's a good party size overall? Should I have a max party at all times?

spec as strider until vocation level is maxed and then switch to assassin

Good stat growth, and you can fire hired pawns and then throw your own pawn off a cliff to play solo.

>lick

Oh yeah, that was a bitch.
But my least favorite one is the 2 cockatrices and the Sorrow(fucking tentacles)

You'll start out loving it, then you'll quickly hate it's horrible UI, questing system and map.

I rage quit the game at around level 30.

Why the fuck is BBI so unbalanced. Holy shit FUCK strigoris. I've never met a mob so artificially bullshit and so fucking rage inducicng before in my fucking life.

The experience you gain is modified by the number of pawns you have in your party as well as their level, so if you don't want to level too fast keep a part of 4.

...

Just fucking play it instead of asking how to play it.

>you can rent more than 1 pawn at a time

wtf. i played this game for a solid 120 hours at least and had no idea you could do this.

I never listened to it long enough for the metal to kick in
always thought "the wind is pushing me" was something your pawns could say near the windy area

According to steam I got to ~80 hours before clearing the Everfall and BBI, but I really took my time, I love getting immersed.

It really depends on how much questing and exploring you do. You could probably do the main story in like 20 - 25 hours if you just ignore absolutely everything else, but that's kind of defeating the purpose of playing the game in the first place. It also depends on whether or not you use a guide. Many first timers miss the entire first 5 hours of the game because they don't know to look at certain noticeboards and when to go back to the starting village

Goblins are weak to fire

Is that a fucking nipple

The pacing in this game is really weird.
I was doing what i assumed were some sidequests and before i realized the last boss showed up and told me i was at the endgame.

Also i cant stick to a single class for more than 40 minutes, my character sucks. Please help.

>It's a shame that the game doesn't scale difficulty based on party size as that would be interesting.
It literally does though
One of the main things scaled with party size is monster stagger resistance so you don't easily stunlock the shit out of everything with a full party while a solo warrior can easily smack almost everything to the ground

Nigger what? I was a warrior while my pawn healed.

Well, go kill the fucker and end the game.
What could go wrong?

Yes.

>Also i cant stick to a single class for more than 40 minutes

found the problem m8. time to start a new character, your stats are fucked

>Want to play DD, but too lazy
>tfw wanabe aughtist

Is this game available on consoles ? My PC just broke and it will take couple weeks to repair it, don't have the tools with me and don't want just to buy new ones because of a matter of weeks

So do you actually play any games, or are too lazy for everything?

>My PC just broke and it will take couple weeks to repair it, don't have the tools with me

did you lose your only philips head or something?

It's on PS3/360 and is coming to PS4/Xbone

Go to the Dark arisen section(found at starter town) at around level 15

>user in thread yesterday said this game can run on toasters
>try on my shitty laptop, my only option
>menu lags to shit
Jesus.

I play plenty, I just never really get around to Dragon's Dogma. Recently I've been hung up on Factorio. I really like Dragon's Dogma but I can never focus on it. I only ever play it for a couple days then something else comes up.

Make sure you set everything to low

If I recall the game automatically sets everything to high regardless of specs

You don't really need to min/max but your stat growth is based on your class at time of level up, look up which ones give what and try to plan your build a little more (ie if you want to play magic archer you're gonna need mage/wizard levels)

Classes level up independently to your character level and are best leveled up by fighting a bunch of trash mobs since class exp is percentage based

Use this knowledge to level up classes with good augments without spending too much time getting bad stats

If you're not playing a dagger/instant reset class be prepared to hate your life

A lot of outrageous quest requirements (99 skulls/40 war bugles) come as rewards for other quests so check the notice boards at cassardis/encampment/gran soren often

Keep pawn dialogue on but turn the captions off if you ever hope to see shit

>82 hours
how's your first map?

It went pretty good. Got that rocket launched, downloaded a bunch of Bob's mods and started cracking away on then. Then I discovered .15 was out but you had to set it to beta for it. I've only just started digging into that.

Oh. Well hell. Guess I'll reinstall.

why is assassin a meme?

Bullshit. Nothing but unconfirmed rumors.

probably because it's game breaking ez mode.

source: it's all i played

It used to be super busted shit with Bloodlust/Autonomy being 70% strength increases each but they got nerfed into the ground so now other classes are viable

It's releasing on Japanese for PCs and Consoles.
Then on fall for the west.
It's part of the 5 year anniversary

It's still a class with access to dodge roll and instant reset, so it's still the 'Can't touch this' class

I assassin the one with Counter skill? That was dope as fuck.

game about fighting big monsters has a class specifically made for climbing on them and directly hitting their weak points while also having a ton of extremely useful passives/actives besides

Pretty sure every other class with daggers can do both of those things, maybe not Strider/MArcher for Instant Reset though

Yeah Certain Kill or something, super abusable against a bunch of enemies, Eliminators being a big one if I remember right

Are there any enemies that aren't far stronger than a common goblin?

Assassin in vanilla was Autonomy/Bloodlust + Thousand Kisses = rip everything, loved it

Many such cases!

Rabbits

Normal Undead, I guess?

Who else here accidently romanced the fucking shopkeep from the main town because the game doesnt explain the affection system. My eternal sadness when i dont get lolo witch waifu.

She was a Mystic Knight.

I gave lots of shrooms to her and arisens bond.
Got her no problem.

me. a lesson i never forgot

I started as a healer mage and threw Rook in the water for shits and giggles. I wasn't able to progress anymore because I did absolutely no damage. Haven't played the game since.

Ranger best class

Good job retard
