There's pretty much no chance of bricking it, just don't install coldboot and you'll be fine. If my dumb ass can do it I'm sure you can.

Just follow the github guide at the top until you get to step 6, then do the brazillian title install method in the pastebin. You don't really need to worry about loadiine, its a pretty outdated method at this point.

I've been too lazy & want another SD card to actually hack it fully, back in September though I did set-up Loadiine to play Star Fox Zero, Meme Run, Ghost Trick and Paper Mario: Color Splash. I bet you can guess which one I enjoyed out of that list the most.

I do want to hack it though, it seems like a really nice way to play more DS games since I lack a flash cart for my DS/3DS. Also pirating Splatoon sounds tempting, it's like one of the few Wii U games I don't own that seem to be worth a shit.

Yeah, there's DS games on the Wii U virtual console and you can inject ones that aren't available there.

Yes, I'm not smart enough to do it but its possible. I just scour the various hacking sites looking for USB-ready injected games, I've found Banjo Kazooie, Perfect Dark, Quest 64 and a few others that way.
If you have an N64 controller and a N64 to USB adapter you can even use N64 controllers on your wii U with this app:

Also lets you use the gamecube adapter for any games (not just smash), as well as Dualshock 4's and other USB controllers you have.
WUPinstaller won't let you install directly to an SD card, but you can just install them to your system memory, then manually move them to your SD card in your settings. Especially if its just DS games, they won't take up much space.

The Wonderful 101 is legit one of the best games of 8th gen. Hope you enjoy it man.

Nothing, since the moment I bought a Switch, I threw my Wii U in a box and haven't looked back. Goddamn was it annoying with all the wires and mess just because the tablet was attached to so many games, yet had such a shitty lifespan

You could try looking there, or you could inject their Wii versions through the vWii, might be easier to find info on that method.

Its gotten a lot easier since then, you basically just download some files, put them on your SD card, put the card in the Wii U, and just click what the guide tells you to. If I can do it than any idiot can.
