>$30 wired Switch pro controller
Pretty good price.
>no gyro, HD Rumble, or NFC
Understandable.
>d-pad is removable and can be stored on back
Wait. What?
$30 wired Switch pro controller
Why would?
Look mommy I posted it again
Who asked for this and why?
Its basically a Madcatz controller, only from official console distributor.
Poor people
what the fuck is HD rumble
What purpose does removing the dpad have
One per side. But with enough granularity and response to simulate haptic feedback.
a meme
It makes the rumble make the coin sound when you get coins in Mario Kart.
I was dumbfounded when I first noticed it. I was like
>wait do the joycons have like mini speakers on them?
>oh wait holy shit it was the vibration
I was not expecting that. Can't wait to see how the springy effect feels like in ARMS.
Its on the same level as analogue buttons for the Playstation controllers: Feature, but will most likely be ignored
Makes it harder to press diagonally but easier to accurately press in a cardinal direction.
What does the tubo button do? I never understood that even on old controllers
I assume it's for games that treat the d-pad as separate face buttons rather than as directional inputs, like Zelda. It seems like a pointless addition since you'll rarely ever register the wrong input when using a d-pad properly but I doubt it adds too much to the price.
>yfw No More Heroes 3 uses it for phone call dialogue
it pulses the input to the game to register as additional button presses while holding the button down.
some old games in particular expected you to hit the button for every single shot fired so by using turbo it allowed easy automatic fire.
Life-like texture feedback for Senran Kagura games
Couldn't having it this way also make the d-pad less responsive? Also, I could be wrong but there doesn't seem to be anything to prevent it from being twisted after it has been inserted.
You know dualshock means there's motors in each side of the controller, and there's a light/heavy motor?
It's basically that but nintendo
More realistic rumble tech
Feels nice with the Joycons but is basically just normal rumble with the Pro Controller
You won't miss out if you buy this over the Pro Controller trust me
What about the lack of gyro?
Gyro controls are a meme
No.
Agreed.
i thought splatoon was way better with gyro aiming?
It absolutely is. Using analog-stick only for aiming in Splatoon is SO slow. Even if you are good at it.
Watching players use non-motion controls seems slow motion.
A d-pad is basically a single piece of plastic that can hit four different buttons. The circuitry for a d-pad is no different than the circuitry for the face buttons.
>More realistic rumble tech
The rumble technology used by nintendo microsoft and sony is owned by the same company Immersion Corporation. What nintendo calls HD rumble is the same generation of tech that the PS4/Xbone use.
Yes, but having a d-pad over four buttons may not have the same feel as just having the d-pad on a rubber membrane. It's basically adding another layer unless the buttons we see in are the rubber membrane. Even then, there's the plastic surrounding the buttons.
In addition, if the d-pad does not lock into place and turns easily enough, it can lead to a problem where players are pressing diagonally instead of in a cardinal direction because they did not notice it moved from position.
literally fucking nothing, and the retards who usually gobble up buzzwords like that pretend it's actually something.
It's actually from HORI
You tried
and failed
Really
Really
REALLY Badly
Gyro controls are great, I used them on PC with my DS4.
On Gravity Rush 2 where they're delayed and very smoothed? Yes.
On Twilight Princess HD? Not in the slightest. I wish more PS4 games like R&C and Uncharted made use of it.
It's always kinda jittery for me on PC. DS4Windows works extremely poorly as a mouse, and Steam Big Picture mode is still a little weird. What do you use?
I'm using Steam, took some tweaking to make it not jittery but now I can finally play as Strider in Dragon's Dogma.
DD was the game I tried too. Can you take a screenshot of your setup? There were like 10 different options that all worked better or worse.
Do any PS4 games use gyro controls well?
eeeeh, flow?
Tearaway Unfolded, I guess?
Gravity Rush HD had it for two scenes in the intro cut scene when you entered first person to look at stuff.
I'm at work right now, if the thread's alive when I get home in about 2 hours I'll post it.
Would be great!
If I go to sleep, know that I very much appreciate it. Would be a really nice way to play 3rd person games with light shooting like GTA and Sleeping Dogs. Even if they don't work with the same setup it might help me figure out better.
Something Xbox One did in 2013 but no one cared until now because it's got the Nintendo brand
