How are you guys enjoying it? The weak maps are a letdown, but everything else is pretty great.
What's the next FE game you'd like to see get the Echoes treatment?

Sacred Stones
The director for Echoes said that he would like to do a remake for FE6: The Binding Blade, so I guess that
>remaking GBA games
>not SNES ones
What the shit
is the overclass dlc out yet and do the classes get addional arts with the class?
Don't support this games DLC
I'd buy the season pass next week if I didn't need to save money for an outing in a couple of weeks
gaiden was basically a sacred stones prototype
Enjoying it way more than I did Awakening or any of Fates. I haven't played every game in the series, but it's currently my favorite of the bunch (that is, of the 6 or so I've played).
I think the gaiden mechanics are my favorite in the series, so I can look past the maps.
I don't think it's going to be one of my all-time favorites in the series but I'm enjoying it. It's a solid entry and reaffirms that I still love FE at its core and my lukewarm reaction to Fates could just be a bump in the road.
Makes sense if they are bringing japanese only titles to the west for the first time.
I still want a remake of 7, though.
im on chapter 3 so how many chapters are left?
I didn't even dislike the desert maps that much. It was only when I hit the toxic marsh that I started agreeing with the shitty maps consensus.
>head towards the Dragon Shrine to grind the Pesasus duo and promote Atlas
>they get anal and leave once I kill Blake
Fuck you three, especially you, Palla, since I gave you that kill
Are you not supposed to be able to kill Jedah the first time you fight him?
You're supposed to just endure the eyeball reinforcements for a while. Eventually he'll get bored and leave.
But I want the dracoshield.
You're not, but you do get a sweet Dracoshield once you de-rust it if you do beat him
>he didn't get jedah's draco shield
7/10
It has issues but I like lots of it
>backtrack to idol for reclassing
>all monsters respawn
>beat them again
>time to reclass again
repeat
>he didn't kill the double, defeat Jedah, AND forge their own Dracoshield
Echoes was by the IntSys team that did Code Name S.T.E.A.M, which itself had a lot of love for Gaiden (the developers have a fondness for it, they said in an interview).
The "FE team" has been working on FE Switch so I don't expect any of the good QoL changes that came out of Echoes to continue in that game, rather they'll just continue from what they thought worked in Fates.
Really, Echoes just shows the S.T.E.A.M team was dealt the short end of the stick and that they have potential.
>game tells you that Atlas has beef with Greith while Palla and Catria want to save Est
>explicitly ignore this and head towards Mila's Shrine instead
There's are Mila Statues in earlier parts of the game if you just wanted to promote your units.
But how do you beat him if you can't damage him?
I forgot since I was working. Either way, got the Brave Sword for Atlas, so at least he doesn't need too much babying
attack three times, on the fourth, send your saber over and have him use roundhouse and crit
Oh, I see.
what floor of duma tower do I get the lady sword? forgot ot get it during hte campaign
how many chapters does this game have?
oh god no, i had hope but this just confirms we're going back to waifus and children and endless grind doesnt it?
your ass isn't a valid source
6 Acts. The fifth is basically just one long dungeon while the sixth is post-game stuff with a bunch of boat maps and a 10-floor dungeon filled with enemies with huge stats
is there any way to farm duma moss?
I've only played Sacred Stones, Awakening and Fates (Birthright). Would I enjoy this? Birthright got pretty boring.
I've never played a Fire Emblem game before. Any suggestions on where to start with this series?
Two acts with one lord, two acts with both lords, the final dungeon, and the postgame.
Chapter 4 is as long as 3.
Chapter 5 is one big dungeon.
Chapter 6 is post-game, also a dungeon and a few boat maps.
who are you guys planning to use the villager fork on? i was thinking boey at first but i might give it to lukas or forsyth for an extra dread fighter
All 3 of those games are similar to Gaiden in that EXP is an unlimited resource, and the maps are open with not a lot of natural choke points. I'd at least try one of the games that isn't like that, like FE7.
I wish they'd go back and add the other characters into steam. I want the music without having to use ike. And Marth too I guess.
7, titled simply "Fire Emblem", on the GBA. It's a little outdated in presentation but it has an extensive tutorial and is a solid entry all around.
If you're worried that a GBA game will be too outdated to get into, try Awakening on 3DS.
-Start with FE7 aka "Blazing sword" or just Fire emblem GBA, bit old but still amazing top game up to date in terms of strategy/story/replayability its a very solid game overall.
-Then, if you wish to know how FE7 really ends, go for FE6 aka "Sword of seals" also for GBA.
-If wanna skip story, go FE8 aka "Sacred Stones" is a easier fire emblem overall but its just to finish the GBA trilogy, also the story is incredibly dark and good, its just the pace what tilts manchildren so dont listen to haters. if you take the time to enjoy the plot you will love it.
-Then, you can go either Gamecube's FE9 "Path of radiance" or FE10 "Radiant dawn". I highly recomend you Path of radiance since its an amazing story too, and the -only- different one where the MC isnt a baby Lord spoilered by his kingdom and allied territories.
-From here, you can choose to play the hardest FE games, FE4 "Genealogy of the holy war" - arguably the BEST fire emblem and in my opinion one of the best game and story implemented together-, FE5 "Thracia 776" cannonically known as the hardest one, its kind of a complement for FE4.
-FE1,2 and 3 are very outdated, if you wanna play Gaiden(FE2), you better play Echoes, Shadows of valentia, its an outstanding game. FE1 and 3 arent much a good thing, and the remakes feel weird because of the art(and pretty much almost everything) so i dont recommend you either those or their DS remakes.
-FE Fates and Awakening are solid by themselves, you can play them whenever you want, only after GBA games so you get used to support system and stuff. Warning: Becarefull of waifus, these games are full of waifu-bait, i personally hated about Fatesf the obssesion everyone has on the MC.
Have fun/.
>-FE Fates
>solid
the only thing solid about fates is the gameplay
I knoe Boey has some bad growths, but come on, this is ridiculous
Yeah, the most important part.
wew lad he got fucked even harder than usual.
Mine is a higher level and still has 4 speed.
>story isn't important
fucking trash, cunts like you will be the death of the franchise
>gameplay being the most important means story is not important at all
Damn son, how did you make it past middle school? And if you're looking for story you're looking in the wrong franchise, even at its best FE stories are only ever "okay".
in what world is conquest retarded writing acceptable
Most FE games don't have amazing stories. They tend to play around the same plot points and usually don't go outside the box. Fates tried but the execution was screwed up and I don't doubt that Revelation (the "almost everyone is happy" route) fucked with the main premise of having to choose between two families. The Radiance games did go a lot more into political intrigue and (a bit hamfisted) racism but that too wasn't as good because of Blood Pacts and surprise-Goddess boss.
Did you reply to the wrong person? I never said it was.
don't try to deflect, that's exactly what you were implying when you said story isn't "that important"
STEAM is so great.
Are you having a hard time reading my posts?
no
I think you are, so I'll summarize what I've said: Gameplay is the most important part of FE.
Fates' premise didn't really stray from the series norm at all. There was still a good kingdom and a bad kingdom, except now they were even more generic than usual.
>not getting the CE and the Amiibo that will save your ass from time to time
>ugh UWAAUA
I can't decide if I want to play Echoes.
Am I really going to miss the weapon triangle etc?
Are the amiibo summons actually good? I have yet to try them
Your post seems to imply that you can play FE9 and FE10 in any order. I'd say that you should always play FE9 first since FE10's story is quite reliant on FE9's story.
Also FE11 was a bit barebones but FE12 was fine.
>BUT THE DRAGONS/GODS.
Literally every fire emblem.
Weapon Triangle was largely useless bullshit to begin with, but given the RNG rates in this game you might miss it a bit. No Axes that you control though, so that's fucked.
No
Weapon triangle being absent has made the game a hundred times more enjoyable. Makes the game more focused on class abilities and positioning rather than rock paper scissors.
Gods/Dragons are pretty much never the true villain in Fire Emblem. They may be the final boss but they're rarely the instigator.
Ideally I'd like to see FE 4 & 5 bundled into one package. Not sure how the logistics of it would work. A 6 + 7 remaster might work out better in that regard.
I didn't even notice it was gone
However it's not a game that's going to test your ability. I was pretty disappointed there was no lunatic mode because hard mode was a cakewalk.
If you have any of the FE Amiibos, yes.
>I grinded and used Milas turnwheel, game was too easy.
Is Atlas supposed to have such shit skill?
atlas is est but shit
Didn't grind, lol. Late game there were levels where I spammed invoke and won because I was too lazy to move my units around a hill, but sure lets pretend the game is hard
Does anyone other than Genny get Invoke?
>My primary tactic was to use a spell that gives me expandable units at a cost of NOTHING.
Ahahaha.
Doot is cute!
Tatania does, I think.
reddoot
>its a "Cantor summons hundreds of gargoyles" episode
>its a "Cantor summons hundreds of necrodragons" episode
>its a "Witch Cantor that summons more Witches"" episode
Ok, hear me out guys. I thought what I needed to recruit Zeke was just to kill everyone except him in the map, but apparently I actually needed some girl that Nuibaba has captive first. I retreated and now Zeke is the only one left in the field. It's fine if I kill Nuibaba get the girl and come back later for Zeke, right?
Right?
I think so but hers are the best.
Are you going to defend the games difficulty or attack the fact that I could easily beat a map by using one spell? I bet you can't do both
You used a zero risk and all reward strategy, retard. Of course that will trivialize the games difficulty.
Should I?
You won't notice or miss it.
It's honestly actually better without it.
They can't remake genialogy, modern FE fanbase can't stomach that. Hell, I can't, who the fuck can?!
Tatiana gets to Invoke Peg Knights and Silque gets to Invoke Dread Fighters. In terms of quality Silque BTFO Tatiana and Genny but she gets her Invoke very late compared to the other two.
I think IS was aiming to make at least Nohr morally gray, even if it was only through the royal siblings. I agree with you that it ultimately ended up as a standard good kingdom vs. evil kingdom with a crazy dragon kingdom being the ultimate evil.
why, too much story and gameplay for you to handle?
fates would have been better if it was a Law and Chaos ordeal where you slowly become corrupted by joining nohr
Daily reminder that Forsyth is just Lukas with better Atk, Spd, and Res. He's literally better than Lukas, and you're all retarded for saying otherwise.
>A 6 + 7 remaster might work out better in that regard.
How the fuck would that work? You play the entire game and then warp back in time and play your dad?
>genealogy
>gameplay
>MUH STORY!
Cancer. Gameplay is king in these games, if you played a FE game for its story you're fucking retarded. I hope this is a falseflag.
It's not even a strategy and that's the problem. It's just spamming summons and it is trivializing in regard to the difficulty being labelled hard. Continue to tell me about all of the other items and spells I should stop using before we can pretend it's a hard game.
I'm sorry you had so much trouble beating it apparently
Yeah but his voice is annoying and his personality is shit.
so whats the next remake going to be?
awakening was a mistake
good that's the one i was thinking of. I want them to take out the whole you have to let your units die thing for the gaiden levels tho.
Not him but I only played FE4 because people in fire emblem threads always said it had the best or "only good" story in the franchise.
It was alright.
Awakening literally saved Fire Emblem from becoming Nintendo's next Metroid
>too much gameplay for you to handle
U wot m8
Horse God Emblem is easier than Awakening unless you purposely fuck up.
