Holy fuck, why is this DLC so brutally hard?

Because it's the best story DLC of all time and it knows it.
Because they bothered to fix the complaints from the main game like too little weapons or too easy bosses, unlike the shit with das3's dlcs
Probably because you went in there at a low level.
I went into it at lvl 50 my first time through it and it was pretty damn challenging. Second time I came back at lvl 80 and it was well silly how much easier it was.
I'm level 79 and it's still kicking my ass.
YEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOWWW
Getting good is the only way you'll appreciate the story. The game wants you to sink time into it.
Best time to start DLC is immediately after the Fluffy White Dog Girl fight in NG+, assuming you didn't spend the endgame farming Blood Whatevers.
>IMPLYING he made it that far
I like how they put the Living Failures right before Maria, so you think 'wow that boss was easy/dumb' and then immediately you fight Maria. I think they knew what they were doing there
I still haven't beat him
Feels bad man. My most recent character wan an ARC build. I really need to boot the game back up and finish the DLC
I think they were strapped for time and weren't able to make another area for Maria.
Then again, if the lab really was meant solely for the Failures and you've already ascended it, I don't see why they would want to make you ascend another tower just to reach the top of it and fight Maria.
>Game is on sale on the PSN Store for $17.50 this week
>Also includes Old Hunters DLC since its the Complete Edition
If you haven't got the game yet this is worth it.
lol. it really isnt difficult.
Only thing I find difficult is the beginning since you don't have a weapon right off the bat.
>tfw died over a dozen times to the living failures
>oneshot Maria and cleared every other boss within three tries
Help.
They probably figured that if you liked the game enough to go out of your way to buy the DLC, you were pretty good and would like the challenge. I think it was a good move. It's like devs did with old vidya expansion packs.
>kosm
This. I wish more devs made their DLC like expansion packs.
We can't all be pros like you, user.
>video games
>hard
You must be 18 to post here
>I also died to the living failures more than any other dlc boss
More like The Living Champs
you can access it at lvl 30 and it's designed to be started around lvl 60
>trying to kill Orphan on a pure arcane build to be a tentacle man
God damn that was painful
Guys I need persuading to go back to this game. I loved it but the game was just so fucking hard that I quit out of frustration and incompetence
summon some butt buddies. There are people who literally spend hours helping out on the same boss
I beat every boss in the DLC in under 5 tries including Maria which I one shot, however Laurence took me like 30+ anyone else have the same experience?
Over level to anything about 135+
He becomes a joke even solo to fight by that point.
Laurence is a cunt.
HArdest just under pthumerian descendant
Laurence needs his health cut in half, he's way too tedious.
If you're not some PVP autist, is there a reason to stop leveling?
Guys, who's nightmare was it? Was it Gehrman's?
Just started Bloodborne(got from the PSN Sale) and got the Saw Spear and I was wondering where do I go to level up my stats? I know its in the Hunter's Dream but where in the Dream do I go to level up?
The doll, once you gain 1 insight she will stand up and allow you to spend blood echoes to level.
Yoiu need to have at least 1 Insight (attained from Madman's knowledge or seeing a boss) then go talk to the doll in the dream
Started playing this game. Incredibly boring, I fall asleep halfway through the beginning city. Does the game get good later on, because it's dull, lifeless, and boring to play now. It's not even difficult, it's just a dull slog to play through.
That happened to me. Living Failures is tricky due to multiple enemies and the meteor storm. Maria is tough, but she also has 0 poise and so is completely destroyed by the pizza cutter.
She's also super easy to parry.
How do I arcane build and is it worth it
It's dark souls. What do you expect? If it's to hard you don't have to play it.
It is the best story DLC by far
Unfortunately Dark Souls 3 has this game beat in terms of difficulty after that last DLC.
The Demon, Gearfried, and Midas were all harder than anything bloodborne had to offer.
And in my first time in Dark souls history I had to summon for Gearfried, Midir, and Nameless King. They were just too fucking hard (for my ds3 faith build).
is this a joke?
das 3 is the easiest souls game, nothing in any of its contents comes close to ludwig or laurence
same here fuck laurence forever
maria, ludwig, and orphan were great bosses
>try fighting OoK once
>run out of blood vials
>never play the game again
guess that's that
If the humanoid bosses are too hard, start using guns and viscerals. I levelled my tinge to 25 and use ludwigs rifle and that shit made awful bosses like the chalice Pthumerian descendent a joke
Bloodbros, why is this game easily so much better than all other Souls series games, rivalling Das 1?
>no PVP cancer
>great end game content with the chalice dungeons
>bosses are frightening, original, tough but fair and satisfying to beat
>doll Maria >>>>> all other Das girls
This game really is a 9/10 easily with the dlc. And to think I shitposted about this game being overrated back when the game launched and I didnt have a PS4
Or some say Kosm
you earned your tendrils
>PVP cancer
There's literally nothing wrong with PVP. PVP is what made Dark souls amazing
Ludwig is 1000x the nigger that OoK is
More along the lines of me being biased on my play throughs.
I forget that people with melee builds (the 99% who played the game) think Laurence is the hardest shit on the planet.
Ludwig I think could be defined as the hardest boss in the series though, unless he can be cheesed. As I forgot Nameless King, Demons, Gearfried and Midir could be cheesed with ranged/magic.
the answer is no, unless you specifically wanna gimp yourself in ng+ for whatever reason
Living failures is such a shit and unengaging boss that you just try to brute force it.
It took me 10 days to get platinum in one of the easiest games in the history of gaming franchises. Seriously each area following the "chosen hunter" and his excessively buffed weapons from assorted game locations as he fights brainless enemies has been less engaging than the last. Aside from the handholding, the game's only consistency is providing you with absolutely retarded, unchallenging mobs and allowing you to run through all of them without any combative motivation thoughout the entire game. All to make the difficult feel easy, to make action seem inert.
Perhaps the die was cast when From Software voted to make the game a PS4 exclusive; they made sure the series would never be mistaken for a work of art that meant anything to anybody. just ridiculously profitable cross-promotion for the souls series. Bloodborne might be anti-Christian (or not), but it’s certainly the normalfag game in its refusal of challenge, skill and excitement. No one wants to face that fact. Now, thankfully, they no longer have to.
>a-at least the Dark Souls games were good though
"No!"
The enemies were easy; the bosses were unfairly hard. As I played, I noticed that every time a enemy went for an attack, he spent an unrealistic amount of time telegraphing an attack.
I began marking on the back of an envelope every second the enemy stretched his arm back. I stopped only after I had marked the envelope a several dozen times. I was incredulous. Miyazaki's mind is so governed by outdated game design philosophies that he has no other style of challenge. Later I read a lavish, loving review of Dark Souls by the same Kevin-V from Gamespot. He wrote something to the effect of, "If these kids are playing Bloodborne at 11 or 12, then when they get older they will go on to play the Star Wars Jedi Knight." And he was quite right. He was not being ironic. When you play "Bloodborne" you are, in fact, trained to play Jedi Academy.
I didn't expect to actually feel anything for him. But jesus christ you can hear the sorrow in his screaming.
Living failures was a good boss thematically though.
Though mechanically the boss was pretty bad and random.
I bought it on Ng++ and i cant get past maria, im getting my shit kicked in
KOS
OR SOME SAY
KOSM
Its fun but you have to use chalice dungeon gems to have a good weapon
Killing orphan with piss weak viscerals made me git gud real quick. Worth it
You are exaggerating a bit by saying "easiest games in the history of gaming".
Bloodborne is a pretty hard game. If you are experienced with games it won't be, but it still will be an amazing atmospheric game and an absolute masterpiece.
Same here user
Struggled with the Living Failures but destroyed Maria after just a few tries
It's a copy pasta m8.
k
It's ok user, not everyone likes the same shit. Might as well drop it now
Some areas are less dark than others but the same basic gameplay is the same
You definitely won't like the Chalice Dungeons, which are a huge part of the post-game content
I've 100% every souls game but every time I play Bloodborne I progress a bit then just feel like stopping even though I'm enjoying it.
I feel like I'm just burnt out but it's been a year of this now, has anyone else had burn out from a type of game go on for literal this long?
Other than maybe MMOs I've never felt like this with a game I'm enjoying before. Also because of it I keep trying to brute force areas and that's not helping.
Yeah this happens to everybody. Playing a game for hundreds of hours and getting bored of it?
Sounds like a foreign concept to me.
Its not if you actually level up and play it when you're supposed to, which is near end game. Its hard yes but the only fucker who actually made me sweat cause he killed me so much was OoK
Not strong enough, I was in my 90's and I still had to grind.
Holy shit no you again
>has anyone else had burn out from a type of game go on for literal this long?
I have. I havent started DaS3 due to series fatigue
Yeah I was pretty pissed about that, i already hated the living failures and then had to deal with Maria manhandling me
That's normal
I had this happen to FPS games, now it's RTS, just take a break and it'll come back, you won't miss anything if you play a single player game later on
So nobody liked the arena look with the lumenflowers, the weird ass looking bosses and the MARS soundtrack?
Wow.
>Also because of it I keep trying to brute force areas and that's not helping.
If you're bruteforcing the need to go get more blood vials probably adds to the tedium in a major way.
Blood vials were a mistake.
How the fuck was Laurence hard for anyone? He's literally fire cleric beast, yeah he gains more range when he loses his legs but parrying behind him AFTER he spills lava helps. I beat him my first try. Ludwig's insane ass however, over here Getsuga Tensho'n a nigga to death.
hahahaha
you're completely right if you omit "dueling" from that statement
Probably the coolest moment of the recent From soft ARPGs. I had no idea the Holy Moonlight Sword was coming and I lost my shit so hard when I saw him holding it.
I actually really loved that fight, especially the soundtrack and the meteor attack
Yeah we were both Arcane Bankai users. Laurence is really easy with mage builds.
lol this is literally just Bosses: Reskinned: The DLC
Kos = Gehrman
Maria = Crow of Kainhesrt
Living failures = Celestial missionary
Ludwig = Darkbeast paarl
Laurence = CLeric Beast
Is this game 60 fps yet or what holy fucking shit
You on New Game Plus?
This was me when I first bought it cause I didnt know WHAT the fuck I was doing and the unforgiving death punishments were brutal so I stopped, Picked it up last month to seriously give it a shot and not own it but not play it like a bitch, and goddamn when you actually make some progress and kill a few bosses it hypes the fuck outta you. Put this game off for 2 years, yet I beat it in about 3 weeks flat playing a couple hours a night.
Wrong about every one except Laurence.
Which half the fight was Cleric beast with saiyan flames.
I still can't beat living failure. I'm too scared to play it again. Ludwig only took 3 tries.
How does that happen?
True Kino
The area was beautiful, but failed aliens trying to spirit bomb me to death isnt fun
...
Sleep tight lady maria
If you kill the Living Failures fast enough they never get to transition into the cosmic worship phase, which bugs out and keeps one of them alive forever. He can even follow you into Maria's fight and fight you with Maria.
>How does that happen?
Super rare case of the boss dying the very second a new Failure is spawning and doesn't register the "kill all failures" event
Was fun, made him fight Maria with the shaman bone but she just 4-hit combo'd him to death
Have you seen a therapist yet?
Ludwig is nowhere near Paarl senpai, Paarl was confusing simply cause of how he moved, Ludwig was actually super aggressive. He gave me almost no recovery time and even worse his second phase only wanted to do spirit sword beam slashes.
I loved the Living Failures if only for the music
youtube.com
>mfw the arena becoming the cosmos and raining dozens of blacksky eye meteors down
You never know. 10 hour user does occasionally rear his head.
Pretty sure 10dayanon was banned a while back
I'm maining the Kikehammer and my strength is 60, what other stats should I level?
Honestly, I feel worse for those poor snail dudes. They're pretty much defenseless, and you slaughter their entire villiage.
oooOOOAAAOOH!!
