There was an exploit with gael that completely robs him of his stamina with a couple of status effects, and he was unable to move or anything.

thats a bug, though, salamanders have a regular moveset when you don't jump on them from above

It's just funny and really kinda sad that the only defense DS3 has is "it's not DS2"

the tracking never bothered me because we have lock on, so it kind of balances
that said the stamina issue was very real in DS3

You've clearly never beaten a Dark Souls game or even gotten far enough to witness the magic that is infinite stamina. This exists in every iteration of DS at some point.

a lot of enemies (especially late game) literally do have infinite stamina though

It is fair because if you watch the animations you can tell he's coming in for a second attack and you need to dodge again.

The hardness is fun to an extent. But when you have shit like 3-hit killing enemies and infinite tracking, it just ruins the game. I even kinda like the fact that they made enemies pause their swinging mid-swing for a few seconds just to throw you off, just to catch you off guard when you time your roll incorrectly.
