I play video games all the fuck time but I don't think I'm addicted. It's not like when I'm out I'm sitting around thinking "OH MAN WHY CANT I BE PLAYING VIDEO GAMES RIGHT NOW?" I just play them all the time because I have nothing else to do. I feel like that's the case for a lot of people.

Most people don't know when they're addicted. Like say cig smokers or drug addicts. They do it unconsciously. They MUST do it, almost as if they can't stop themselves.

I might play video games like 40 or more hours a week, but I can stop any time. I know that's the cliche answer, but I really can. I easily stop playing when I know I should do some chores or go for a quick run or something, or go out to work.

It's not holding me back in life, I just choose to play and also choose to stop. Some people are retards with addiction problems because they have no self control.

Video games aren't a physical addiction, that's the difference. A game can't make you go into withdrawal that threatens your ability to live. People can be mentally addicted to games but at the end of the day it's much easier to stop an addiction like that than one which is based on drugs or chemical dependencies.
