Was much better when it was an underground thing. It seems fake now that it's being monetized.
it keeps canadians, brazilians and americans(also known as ''the filth'')away from traditional games, so that's a good thing.
The only good esports is the FGC kind

Snakeeyez Gief vs DU's Guile was reallly good
They really need to stop letting people look at their phones during matches shit was really shaddy.
What's up with niggers and fighting games? Why they love this genre so much?
Dunno What's up with white people and shooting games?
quake live is the only "e-sport" I watch
don't really care unless devs start designing their games around it. then they can go fuck themselves.
Du's playstyle annoys me when it reaches a final round...The "zoning" just becomes frustrating to watching. I get it, you want to win, and you know it's a pain in the ass for gief to deal with, but he does shit like that all the time.
This also. Coaching is one thing, but looking up framedata or something on the spot is a bit much.
kek
I would like them more if it was more like Arena from G4. Being godly at one game is cool and all, but being universally good and able to change game types on the fly and still win is way more interesting to watch
O fuc
Those games deserved to get shot.
>The "zoning" just becomes frustrating to watching
People like you are why the neutral was gutted so hard in SFV to begin with and you're still not happy.
Damn that was beautiful. This is why I play Birdie, I'm not comfortable just doubling down like that with gief, Birdie feels so much more well rounded
competitive tournaments is fine, but forced esports bullshitlike what the FGC does with making all these fake hype moments and shoving games into their events just because of money is bad.
...
I play Birdie, I'm fine. Still doesn't change the fact that I think Du is a one trick pony.
Zoning is literally the most beautiful and skillfull thing in fighting games, you absolute retard.
If it were to people like you, every game would be Third Strike, right?
Fighting games are entertaining to watch. Shitty mobas and overwatch are total garbage.
>implying what Du does at the end of sets is zoning
What he did at the end of the set was scramble because both him and Snake were choking it hard, plain and simple.
What are "traditional" games? I'm American so I wouldn't know.
D&D and Magic duh
>genre that is 100% about twitch reflexes and not skill or intelligence
Hmmm, I wonder why blacks are attracted to it...
>not skill or intelligence
Hah you wish buddy boy
>one trick pony
>also plays Mika
Esports is shit. I forgot E-League was still happening and don't care. Pandering to twitch viewers was a mistake that led to SFV.
>canadians, brazilians
I know br monkeys love their KOF, but what do leafs like to play?
>Pandering to twitch viewers
E-League was tv sponsored, twitch was 2nd class as a viewer.
It's nice to see legitimate competition grow and people get some recognition, but there's a whole lot of baggage. There is a lot of games that just get pushed as esports simply because it promotes the game, even if it isn't designed for competitive play. With all the different leagues and events you see some pretty stupid rules become common.
Best pro SF game I've ever seen desu
...
>chat was actually saying "Sleep Fighter V"
Has the Street Fighter cycle completed once again?
This, there's a level of homoginzation and the need to "market" the game for spectators rather than just making it good for the players and the "day ones" that make shit like SFV happen.
Once a game turns to esports, all personality is drained from the game and its scene and your left with a bunch of brits sitting around a table talking about minute details and player histories
fucking ruined online
you can't even say "nigger" anymore
People were saying Sleep Fighter IV too and it was still the most watched fighting game on EVO until it died.
>Third Strike
Third Strike might have nerfed zoning, but remy still exists. Tekken/VF/DoA would have been a better example.
Sega Rally.
>If it were to people like you, every game would be Third Strike, right?
you're a scrub. you want the other person to do all the work. zoning is like the floyed mayweather of the FGC
Wasn't the fighting game genre pretty much the first actual competetive "e-sport" to speak of?
It's wierd that people only acknowledge them as e-sports after moba/rts/fps games made the term popular when fighters already had official tournaments with sponsors and all decades before.
internet didnt exist back then as wide spread as it does
best set of SFV I've ever seen
perhaps there's hope for this game afterall
Brood war is amazing to watch. Everything else, especially team-based games, have been a mistake.
Well my uncle participated in Tetris and pong tourneys back in the day
>best set of SFV I've ever seen
Nemo vs Gachikun was far more interesting.
I think he means competitive in general. Fighting games have been a staple of actual human vs human gaming for decades.
