>this game is now 20 bucks on steam
is it worth it? no spoilers plz
This game is now 20 bucks on steam
You are a synth.
saved you 20 dollars.
You kill or son or nuke the commonwealth
No
Buy the game, pirate the DLC?
That's what I did.
I mean I did pirate the whole game right when it came out but I wanted the patches, so I bought the base game.
DLC should work with it well.
You can pirate the patches, but honestly, I wouldn't even pirate the game. It's really bad. It's more like a subpar Borderlands than a Fallout game.
I got it for free and still felt cheated.
But I also didn't like Fallout 3, Oblivion or Skyrim,
so if you were ok with those, you'll probably be ok with Fallout 4 as well.
I personally really, really, really liked it.
Probably the best Fallout 4 game to this date! At first glance, I was skeptical, but after playing the game for a hour or two I was super-mega-ultra glad that I bought it! The shooting feels so satisfying and smooth. I'm probably going to buy the 4-pack and do a lan night with my bros. Boy is it going to be great!
ok Todd
it's alright.
could be better though
Depends what you're playing RPGs for. If all you want is a skinner box with shit to kill, craft, loot and explore this game will entertain you for 200 hours easily. If you actually want an RPG with a story worth paying attention, characters worth talking to and a world that is affected by the way you play your character then it'd be a waste to spend the money or time.
Your post is like "spoil me spoil me spoil me"
Enjoyed Fo3 more than NV.. if that matters.
>Its way too cluttered with people and places
>More unrealistic shit
>Dialogue wheel cuz why not
>More like a shooter than a rpg.
overall al 6/10 - not bad, but not good either.
No. It never was and never will be, it's not worth it for free, it's a fucking waste of time.
This, pretty much.
There's glimpses and hints of a big framework that was full of potential for a game with lots of finely crafted vignettes and companions and rebuilding a torn region, but it was never realized.
If you like clearing locations to find enemies to kill, and materials to upgrade weapons and/or build settlement structures, then you can probably wring a lot of enjoyment out of the game.
If you're expecting New Vegas 2, however, you'll be disappointed with the base game. Far Harbor DLC has a much tighter and more well written narrative with consequences that aren't so black and white, but it's also fairly short.
>best fallout 4 to date
>lan
Gr8 b8 m8
I'd say the shooting alone usn't even worth it. There are far better shoot n loot games or open world shooters with crafting. Fallout 4 isn't worth your time.
Yes, it's worth 20 bucks.
Yes it matters. You're opinion is worthless.
>consequences that aren't so black and white
Can you list some permanent "black" consequences to the players choices in the base game? This game caters so much to and forces you into the role of the sarcastic good guy looking for his kid that it doesn't even offer room for any other character type.
What would you recommend instead of FO4, then?
This spoiler would work better if it didn't begin with "Like the ending to Fallout 4"
not him
>but muh cowboys
...
It's mainly related to the main story.
Far Harbor does a better job of having grey outcomes to the main story.
But you're mostly correct in thinking that there aren't a lot of side quests that allow you to be a selfish asshole instead of a bland or quipping good guy.
You aren't qualified to have an opinion on any game. You're taste is just objectively garbage.
>It's mainly related to the main story.
Even there i can't think of many that are permanent. You can unload your minigun into Mama Murphy and Preston will still take you back, you can go on a rampage in DC and wait a couple days and everything is peachy again, you can rob Hancock and kill his bodyguard and he'll still say "all water under the bridge". The game really didn't even consider the player going the asshole route.
If that pleases your autistic brain.
Bad Fallout game, but pretty good video game for 20$.
Worth it
Or just pirate if you dont have the money
>muh dad
>muh son
>muh synths
Help me /v. I don't like this game after trying it but I don't have any good reasons why I don't like it. When I played it it was boring and everything felt samey and I couldn't take the voiced player character. Those were the reasons I stopped playing.
It's because Fallout 4's kind of badness isn't a "it's terrible" one, it's a frustrating one. Hard to describe. Seriously one of the few games that made me ragequit with literally nothing.
I was halfway into the story and I wasn't enjoying it too wildly amidst of a gorillion technical issues and ultra repetitive gameplay, but I kept going because I was interested.
Then there was some sort of freak glitch/bug accident I can't really remember but I would constantly die, which made me kinda madand at the moment I was streaming, people started saying I was terrible and it also didn't make me feel very good :^(
But that wasn't the last straw. I kept on playing for a while, discovered a new location, then I just thought "I can't arse myself to continue doing this boring shit", so I quit the game and never touched it again. This was around December 2016.
It's also mostly bad because it doesn't outclass any game that came before, the customization fun you get by modding it isn't absolutely on par with Skyrim for example and the gameplay is bars below New Vegas'.
RPG Fallout ends with the first 2, FPS Fallout is just New Vegas. The rest is utter crap. Sell it for shit money and get something else.
>is it worth it?
I don't know, does a guy offering to shit in your mouth for 20 bucks instead of 60 worth it?
the old guy is your son
Worth pirating the dlc if I am going to attempt this game again?
What really annoyed me was that there seemed to be exactly one quest tied into each location. I had to tell myself to stop exploring shit because I kept having to backtrack to do some simple quest.
Is Todd immortan?
It can be good if you dont think of it as an RPG and more like a story driven FPS
>ada full of backpacks
shill, you are my kind of guy
The best game this generation by miles.
Worth full price desu, $20 is a steal.
>It can be good if you dont think of it as a Fallout game
FTFY
no, if it was free it still wouldnt be worth your time
play new vegas, witcher 3, or zelda botw instead
>It can be good if you dont think of it as a game
FTFY
>It can be good if you don't buy or play it
>You are a synth beacuse i say so.
yeah, fuck far harbor for that.
>HURRR MAYMAYS
hot opinion you got there son
It's a shame that Steam is being short sighted and selling this game at such a low price. Make sure to buy 3 copies so that Bethesda knows you appreciate their hard work!
Having played it during the free weekend I got through Concord and kinda gave up on it. Good gunplay but I didn't really care about anything else going on so couldn't bring myself to keep going, and if I want good shooting there are other options I already have.
why buy it when you can pirate it and all the dlc in one packes?
playing far harbor for the first time. its better than the main game but it really dosent give you anything new to deal with other than giant mutant animals that can rek your shit.
Fuck all of you pretentious whiners, fallout 4 is great, playing through it again and really appreciating it a lot more than I did the first time.
Get it and enjoy it op, download wasteland storms as well.
go home todd.
Well, here's my experience with it:
>install about 30 mods
>fuck around with settlements, play the robot dlc have some fun with it
>spend lots of time looking for armor until my character starts looking decent
>have fun with combat, it's a huge improvement on NV and FO3
>quests are literal absolute dogshit though
>can't force myself to do anything in Diamond City
>realise how bland boring and annoying the characters are
>lose interest and drop it for good, still play 20-30 minutes every week or so to shoot some stuff for no reason
I'd say worth 20 dollaroos, but the game is at best a 7/10, they completely butchered the RPG aspect of the game while improving on the action part, which I have no idea why they did, the two didn't exclude one another. The setting itself is kinda shit too, but could have been interesting with good writing if it wasn't a fucking mess with no direction or focus.
Fallout 4 is open world CoD.
The shooting is fun for 20h or so, the world design is really good and help make the fight more fun (veticality)
Other than that the game is garbage. No fun quest, shitty main story, and building settlements is no fun.
All is said here.
The money is not that big of a deal but the time will be once the addiction loops kick in.
You will only hate yourself. (Unless you have all that time to waste)
>Story driven
>fps
Into the trash it goes
Got about 750 hours on Steam, with all the DLCs.
Yes, it's barely an RPG, has the usual Bethesda bugs, and the main story isn't that good, but it's still a great game. It has an incredible atmosphere and is loads of fun, moreso with the plethora of mods out there.
I would also heartily recommend getting Far Harbor, it's got an even greater atmosphere and a better story.
It would be a "good" game (for AAA standards nowadays) if it wasn't Fallout.
goat score and soundtrack tbdesufam
I didn't like Fo4? leave pls.
This shilling needs to stop. Nobody would actually ask this question. Even normalfags know it's shit.
