I remember playing wipeout on PS1 when it came out. Was one of the first games my dad bought. Always liked Fzero better though. Atleast you guys are getting a remaster/collection though. Enjoy.

It's why the game was named and made that way, basically take the best of the first three to four games and add or replace a few other systems and feature to make a game closer to the spirit of wipeout and not some shitty x-treme g/f-zero mixup that pleases nobody.

Cancelled my preorder when I found out how they're splitting up 2048 and HD. Even worse, HD isn't even upscaled for PS4, it's literally the same thing and same graphics. That for 50 bucks? Fuck off

At the startup screen, you pick either 2048 or HD/Fury. So rather than making tweaks to gameplay and putting effort into the port, the playerbase will be split right from the get go.

You can't, say, make a lobby with your friends and alternate between 2048 and HD races, tracks, or ships.

Aw, WOC only has HD/Fury/2048 content? I already have the HD/Fury DLC on my Vita with 2048 so that's kind of pointless. At the very least they could have thrown in Pulse and Pure.

How does Wipeout compare to F-Zero? F-Zero X was my favorite game ever before I played F-Zero GX (which took about 10-20 hours to get used to for me). I've played a bit of Redout and I hated it because it felt floaty, which might've just been me being too used to F-Zero.

I also played Wipeout Pure for a couple of hours and found it sorta fun, but also rather shallow. This was before I played any of the F-Zero titles. Was I just ignorant or is Pure dumbed down since it's on PSP?

Also please ignore all baiters. It makes me sad to see people get rustled by some fags who probably haven't played F-Zero.

I fucking suck at the Wipeout games. My entire race is pretty much grinding against the wall while the CPU flows through the turns and loops with perfect precision.

The best way I could describe wipeout, is that it's hydrothunder without the water, ships in general have more mass that you have to move around, they bob up and down and have inertia around corners, so they drift. It's weird but that's the shortest answer I can give.

user, they're two different games with different ships and physics. WOHD ships wouldn't work on 2048's tracks due to how overpowered they are in comparison to 2048's. 2048's weapon powerups also work a bit differently than HD's, which could cause some massive balancing problems.

Still, it's better this way. I wouldn't trust anyone to meddle with WipEout if not for the Psygnosis crew themselves.

I'd say try XL/2097, it's widely regarded as the best classic wipeout (inb4 the 3 se fags).
Other I liked are 3 SE, and the ps3 one, which is an improved version of pure and pulse.

Interdasting. The problem for me is that I really love how F-Zero handles traction and drifting, especially in X. It sort of feels like a balancing act, I guess. The lack of "friction" might be a bit hard for me to get over, but I will do my best.
