Did you suck up to Clem? If you did, she'll stay with you wherever you go. Choose to help Richmond with Kate and Clem and Gabe should die.
It's a lot more complicated if you didn't suck up to her though, there's a ton of different versions. Clem can go help the person you don't choose and then even choosing to save Richmond doesn't get Gabe killed because Clem saves him.

If you choose to go with Kate, Gabe dies. At least it was this way in the playthroughs I've watched.

In one of the playthroughs where Lindhard is alive, Clem still follows Javi wherever, so it's not that simple.
If I had to guess it depends on whether you cucked your brother.

I think you just have to have a lot of "points" with Clem. Conrad is probably a big part of it because every playthrough I've seen so far that had Conrad alive has Clem suggest splitting up.
Also, I'm pretty sure it's impossible to save both Gabe and Kate if Clem trusts you because she won't be there to save them.

I'm not sure what you mean by this but if Gabe dies then David does too. You cannot save him without Gabe, I'm pretty sure. So if Gabe dies the choice to romance Kate barely matters.

So if Kate is romanced, Clem goes with Kate by default, and if Javi doesn't joking them Kate dies.

If Kate isn't in a romantic relationship (and your approval points with Clem pass a certain threshold, maybe?), Clem can save Gabe but not David, and Kate leaves Javi but remains in Richmond alongside him to atone.

Clem sticks with you:
Go with Kate -> David AND Gabe die
Go with David/Gabe -> Kate dies

Clem helps whoever you don't:
Go with Kate -> Gabe lives, David dies
Go with Gabe/David: I THINK Gabe lives and David/Kate die but I need to confirm this

Clem wants to help Gabe:
Go with Kate -> David dies, Gabe lives
Go with Gabe/David -> David and Gabe live, Kate dies

Clem wants to help Kate:
Go with Kate: David dies, Gabe dies
Go with Gabe/David: David dies, Gabe lives. Kate just fucking vanishes and they mark her as dead.

Likely not but I'm still not sure what triggers Clem's choice here. I know she probably won't give you the "I go wherever you go" speech if you saved Conrad though so you can cross the first option off the list.

I will say there's a lot more outcomes than I expected. While I can figure out the pattern I still am not sure what triggers Clementine's decisions here besides the one where she's loyal to you. Gotta give them props for at least that.

If there are any, they'll be quickly found, even if by datamining.

I don't think that's the case, don't worry. I'm pretty sure you just need to back Clem up in major decisions to get her to be loyal to you. Conrad is probably the biggest offender there.
