Explain yourself. Why have you still not bought a used japanese DSi XL on ebay?

Explain yourself. Why have you still not bought a used japanese DSi XL on ebay?

It is dirt cheap because it's japanese, and with a flashcard you can play literally all DS games you want on a crisp and big IPS screen.

I bought one for 35€ and it will arrive in 1 or 2 days. Amerifats can probably get it for cheaper, but I'm not complaining, at least my president is not a retard.

Now get yourself a used japanese DSi XL.

Life is too short for handheld games.

Because my N3DS XL is fully backwards compatible with DS and I can't be arsed buying another one just because the screen is better or whatever

Why would I get one if I already have a hacked N3DS XL? I don't understand the motivation behind that

The DSi XL is hella sexy but I already own a N3DS XL so there's no point in buying a DSi

had a DSi XL since launch day i loved it.

DS games are blurry on a 3DS, they look much better on the DSi XL which has the right resolution and guaranteed IPS screens. I have a 3DS XL and I still bought it.

My purchase was justified, please tell me I didn't waste my money. I'm a neet

because I can already emulate all DS games on a computer or phone

it'd be more worthwhile to hack a 2ds or something with a 64gb sd card

What fucking DS games would I want to play

I got a regular DSi a while back with a flash cart.

There's some good shit. Went through both GCCX games, Layton 1, Advance Wars, and I'm in AAI1 now. I got a lot on my plate.

>but I'm not complaining, at least my president is not a retard.

daily reminder hillary clinton had seth rich killed

>DS games are blurry on a 3DS, they look much better on the DSi XL which has the right resolution

press and hold start when launching a ds game on your 3ds to play it in it's original resolution

I owned one of these bad boys before giving to my sister. NDS has a seriously killer library. Maybe the most diverse with the most good games of any library, and some of the BEST remakes ever. Especially the Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy remakes. Chrono Trigger port is also stellar.

It's definitely not. 3D "console-tier" games are overrated. Often, they're just more bloated. A lot of DS games are so good because they get straight to the point.

The DS and 3DS kept me a Nintendo fan when they were releasing putrid stank for console hardware.

>DS games are blurry on a 3DS
Holding start when you boot them up helps, but not by much.

They still look like shit when you do that, and you know it.

I can't stand playing DS games on 3DS. The blank black sides on the top screen and the distance between the see-through 3D panel and the actual screen make it look like poo poo.

Because I just spent the money that I would have on this on a 40 round Russian surplus magazine for my AKM.

>playing games in ants mode
LOL @ your life

Just get a used japanese DSi XL.

Yeah, have my (You)

Or I can save money and use my 3ds and pc

>blurry
sure thing mate since the dsi has such a great graphics

wouldn't the games be blurry on the DSi?

it's going to be the same resolution but stretched is it not?

It would look maybe a little bit more pixelated, but not blurry because it's still the native resolution.

Because I already have one.

is there any fucking way to softmod a dsi? I want to pirate games without paying for a flashcart that I'll use for 6 games

I have an nvidia shield and it emulates DS games at 720p. Biggest turn off about the ds is the disgusting resolution and how they think its ok to stretch that out into even bigger screens.

>japanese DSi XL
>XL
Do not want. I have a DSi already.

hahahHAH! Yes! gun Rules! pew pwew pew!!! i love GUN!!!

please clean

It has like 6 pixels per inch. I trashed my 3dsxl years ago

why japanese?

dsixl released overseas

I just did. I used some rubbing alcohol and some toilet paper and didn't the specs till I took the picture.

already have a r4i card for my n3ds

Why don't you read the OP, user?

I just play them emulated on one of these.

>xbox buttons

I like my DS lite. I even have a slot-2 cart that lets me play GBA games on it.

The DSi Is basically a prototype for the 3DS; if you have a regular DS and a 3DS there's no reason to own it.

It's got the PS buttons also printed on them, it's weird.

>I bought one for 35€

Where?

READ THE FUCKING OP

E FUCKING BAY

Now go to ebay and buy one.

Why would I buy a DSi when I can buy a 3DS?

That's fucking stupid, just get a 3DS.

And from who?

>Why don't you read the OP, user?
>It is dirt cheap because it's japanese
those are the same price as non-japanese ones

did you buy a bunch of japanese dsixl and are trying to sell them on ebay now or something
this is some ghetto tier fucking advertising kid

What did he mean by this?
Are they coming to get you, user?

Forget the DSi XL, just kill yourself instead.

Japanese ones are cheaper, at least on european ebay.

supposedly it can play ds roms from the sd card better than the 3ds.

Because I have a 3DS XL with a flashcart.
That said, DSis were horribly underrated.

Holy fuck. How much is a flashcart nowadays and where can I get one?

if you need a sexy handheld that can play DS games, why not preorder a New 2DS XL

wait for n2dsxl to become hackable, or buy n3ds
>all 3ds, ds, gba, gb, snes, nes, and game gear games in one handheld
>sexy design

flash cards dont work in dsi mode however

talk of a new exploit for softmoding the 3ds has been in the woks. i think its the opera browser because remember there was a leak of opera source code last year and because its so fucking old. as for flash cards youre best bet would be a supercard dswtwo or a acekard2i because the dsi blocks old r4 cards.

Why? I have a 3DSXL with an R4, so I have literally all DS and 3DS games.

srloder is not perfect yet but soon
its actualy a hell of a lot more feasible to load nds roms from the sd on a dsi then on a 3ds

The only DS game I care about is Strange Journey and I already own that

srloder compatibility list

A DSi XL is the definitive way to play DS and DSiWare games. Guaranteed IPS screens, the best speakers and battery life of any DS system, no mismatched color temperatures that plagued the regular-sized DSi systems, big fat pixels for 2D sprite-based games, games take up the entire screen unlike the 3DS, and just the best looking screen for DS games.

The problem with the 3DS is that DS games are stretched out to match the increased resolution of the 3DS, which just looks terribly blurry. You can remedy this by holding Start or Select upon bootup for a crisp pixel-pixel preservation of the original 256x192 resolution, but you get black borders around the game. I guess a New 3DS is the best way to play DS games at the standard size due to the IPS screens, but the DSi XL is definitely the best way to play DS games at the XL size and overall in my opinion.

DSi XL is the best for DS games because most games are 2D and sprite-based, so fatter pixels actually looks really nice.

New 3DS is best for 3DS games since most games are 3D and polygon-based, and seeing bigger pixels on 3D models isn't so hot.

could you tell me what that's called so can i get myself one of these

the picture says gpd2 so i think its that.

with a flashcard*
*that you have to buy from a shaddy as fuck chinese retailer, wait months for it to arrive just to find out is one of the thousand rip-offs

You can get a flash cart for like $15. Don't be ridiculous

>DSiWare games
user, I have some bad news 4u. The shop shut down back in March. If your system had previously bought anything, you can still redownload them but only for a limited time.

>android handheld.
>no android phone

God damn.

This thread is autistic and cringey as fuck, but to some extent, I agree. Going out of your way to get he original DSI's is worth it because they have novelty to them. The DS's library is also pretty good. Getting a dsi with a flashcart and you'll be on some unprecedented levels of tomboolery. I appreciate the message you're trying to deliver OP, just stop being so cringey holy FUCK

>soon
never. compatibility will not improve. It's just not technologically possible.

That's fucking sexy tho

>flashcard

Getting this is too much trouble imo. If it ran off an sd card, that's one thing. I have a ton of those laying around. But having to pay to pirate is a nogo.

>a legitimate discussion about the dsi and softmodding it
>cringe
boy it sure is summer around here

If you bought a stupid piece of shit I hope you at least bought one with a nice design.

>hasn't even received the item yet
>demands others buy item
this is why everybody hates people like you

I'm talking about OP being a aggressive shill about it.

Is it safe to assume that flashcarts can easily bypass the region locking? For whatever reason, Nintendo implemented some form of region locking on the DSi.

It's just 18 dollarios, literally just buy it.

because i have a DS phat with a non-shit d-pad

Handheld is the last stronghold for video games.

user?

Flashcards bypass the region lock, there is no problem.

>needind DSi XL
NDSL master race you faglord

user, can you list some of your personal must-plays?

Don't worry about shilling if you have no customers.

Kek, enjoy your small screens. Does the Lite even have IPS screens?

More like Mustard race.

Enjoy your frontlit screens.

enjoy your extra big pixels for no reason, lack of gba port and overall being irrelevant revision

just use a fucking emulator dork

I bought a dsi last year after only owning a phat and an o3ds. It's definitely the superior way to pay DS games.

Because it's a 3DS.

I have a regular DSi. I always liked it. Skipped the Lite so I felt justified with it.

That's pretty slick actually, I'll look into it.

>DSi XL

The 3DS XL is iffy enough, the DSi XL is literally eye torture. I already have a DS Lite and a DSi I got years ago anyways.

Most run games in DS mode, which bypasses the lock. Only DSi Enhanced games were locked, and even then there were some exceptions, like the English releases of Gen V Pokemon.

why buy an ancient handheld that's easily emulated by smart phones?

accuracy
