Just went from a shit laptop to a new desktop with an R9 390, i5 6600 and an 64bit OS.

Are the Metro games good?

Get games that you would enjoy.
You can have *muh graphics* but most of them are in generic shooters.

Max Payne 3 is some gud eye candy and a fun shooter aside from unskipable cutscenes

What's wrong with it?

>he thinks dxlevel matters for visual effects

wow it's 2002 again

Nothing, but there's very little reason to get an i5 now that the Ryzen 1600 is a thing.

you can play the new star wars battlefront for free for like four hours
it's probably the best-looking game out there right now outside of maybe bf1 or the metro games (which are starting to age desu)

and there's absolutely no reason to get a ryzen if you understand computers.

>the metro games
you have been living under a bridge there are 50 games that look better than that old trash now

I actually got this PC about 9 months ago I'm just looking for games that have both 64bit and Direct X 11 to see if if it would fix my game shuttering problem. Ever since getting Windows 10 all my Direct X 9 games shutter. Even games with 64bit support like Dragon's Dogma shutter. Tried an experiment where I played a couple hours of vanilla Skyrim at max settings and it shuttled, the same thing with Special Edition and didn't have a single problem. Just trying to figure out what it is.

If you hate better frametimes and massively better performance in any decently multithreaded task, then sure.

If you got the PC that long ago then you shouldn't really feel bad, no one really knew how AMD's new CPUs were going to shape up.

Try to run this

pretty much yeah, which is why I said it's aging
ea battlefront probably has the highest fidelity out there right now, second to bf1
crysis 3 is heavy on performance but that don't mean it looks good

Witcher 3

Any game made on the new Frostbite engine looks pretty good

Yeah, hate that

>in any decently multithreaded task
So, not videogames?

It's still gonna be mindblowing coming from an old shitty laptop

The 1600 gets pretty much the same averages or better than the i5 and way better mins. And games these days are using more and more cores, this isn't 2006. You're gaining almost nothing in games by going with the i5 and losing a shit ton of performance in other areas.

>laptops for gaming

why do idiots fall for this meme. unless you use it for school or work or some shit then fine.

Download more ram, serious.

Have 16gigs DDR4.
