What am I about to get myself into, Sup Forums?
What am I about to get myself into, Sup Forums?
Dissapointment if you liked the other games
A great game that Sup Forums blindly hates for no reason.
One of my most fav games of all time. Sup Forums likes to shit on it and, although they have reasonable criticisms, the game is still amazing in a lot of ways.
Bland shooter with very nice esthetic feel and cool characters, and plot full of holes and superficial commentaries on society. People who praising it are retards. People who hates it actually hates journalists and people who praising it.
Why Infinite? It's the weakest of the modern series
1>Minerva's Den>2>Getting kicked in the balls by Ken Levine>Burial At Sea>Infinite
Don't listen to this one, he's a faggot
A modern game. Easy, linear, political(ly correct), cinematic, bland.
A great setting but does nothing with it.
It's alright I guess 6/10.
Very solid single-player FPS. The Skyhook stuff or whatever you call it is awesome. Play it on hard or else vigors are useless. Its very different from the other Bioshocks, but as long as you know that and you're open to something new you should be good to go.
Infinite is my favorite, though I acknowledge Bioshock 1 is objectively superior.
Bioshock 2 is the laziest sequel ever made and I don't understand its fans. 2 is very generic and dumbed down from 1. Dual-wielding is great but Infinite has that and more.
A piece of shit that writes itself into a corner while jerking off one dimensional characters, that haphazardly picks up "themes" aka namedrops things like racism or religious zealots and drops them just as fast, an exercise in tedium in which you go from linear encounter to linear encounter spamming plasmids and shooting peashooters while eating from garbage cans, just to get to the next unskippable segment that makes less sense than the last one.
A piece of shit, but it looks pretty good OP
A linear game with very good aesthetics but average story and gameplay, that's all there is to it.
A boring and superdluous game with nonsense. Prepare to run up and down the same street like 7 times looking for objectives
An incredibly linear story focused FPS game with not fantastic gunplay, really neat aesthetics and a story that thinks it's way smarter then it already is. It's also afraid to really dig deep into racist issues as to ironically not offend players.
boring 6/10 gameplay and a 4/10 story full of plot holes but with a pretty godly intro to the world
For your own sake, play on easy or normal.
Hard just makes everything bulletsponges and ammo more scarce.
Casual piece of crap. Shooting feels bad. Everything is kinda "plastic", so you can't really get into the atmosphere. Full of QTE and other shit popping on your screen, so console players can be happy.
1.5/10
The idea of a sky kingdom was good, but it was very very poorly set up.
what was that game about victorian england and drugs
think it was demo'd at E3 but I can't remember much about it, it had a bioshock vibe
we happy few
We Happy Few?
People were excited for it until it was revealed it was a procedurally generated crafting survival game then people instantly stopped caring.
You're a fucking idiot if you can't see the various ways Bioshock 2 improved on 1.
All of this.
>Set your game in a sky city
>Have no consequences to falling off
We Happy Few
It's shit.
It's not amazing and is really just a watered down version of previous games. The setting is no where near as interesting as it looks either.
Game would have been miles better if the story was just
>Booker goes up to Columbia to rescue Elizabeth
>Finds her halfway through the game
>Spends other half trying to escape from Comstock
>Escapes and lives happily every after
The End
No science fiction stuff. Just a city in a sky ruled by a crazy guy with a damsel in distress.
Hacking became a QTE and the story and characters aside from Sinclair were a massive step down from 1. In terms of pure gameplay it is marginally better than Bioshock 1, but only because they fixed obvious stuff and played it stupidly safe outside of that.
/thread
...
A game that turns into a giant "but that's literally not how that works" while also being incomplete with cut content. Watch the original trailers. It was gonna be good.
/threading the fuck out of this
Infinite's ending pissed me off so much. Stupid 3deep4u shit that came out of no where. I never bought the dlc fuck that cancer.
>no reason
You aren't missing much. The DLC basically feels like fanfiction.
>Hacking became a QTE
That was a good thing though. It meant if you were in combat going to hack something doesn't pause the game.
That plus the more difficult version you can do to buff your hack.
poor op, he just wanted some "wait a minute, that card" jokes.
pretty much this.
Hilarious how infinite was fucking nothing like the supposed gameplay trailers.
>damsel in distress.
you want dem SJWs to be triggered huh
Bioshock, but they're bastardizing physics this time.
>30 posts in for a wait a minute that card reference
Call of Duty clone
...
One of the worst sequels of all time.
shut up reta- actually that's pretty bang on
>at the end, the game looks right at you and says: aren't choices in videogames pointless. bet you were expecting some "meaningful decisions" like the previous games. Gotcha! Aren't we so smart to subvert that expectation. We still tacked on plasmids and stuff because it was in the previous games, but don't mind that. Adam was a big plot point in a utilitarian dystopia because it reflected the physical manifestation of self-actualization, whereas in a floating city based on conformity it has no narrative basis whatsoever.
but multiverse, guys! 2deep4u.
Yeah infinite has a 2 weapon limit, 90% of plasmids have the same effect (stun and damage over time) and levels more linear than FF13.
Bioshock - 9/10
Bioshock 2 - 8/10
Bioshock Infinite - 5/10
Prey - 8/10
Nice story, satisfying characters and ending, pretty shitty and easy gameplay.
>I just want my memes repeated over and over forever and not actual discussion
You're what's wrong with Sup Forums
A dull, unsatisfying game.
Look up Elizabeth r34 instead, you'll have a much better time.
no reason?
Here's a list of Bioshock mechanics and themes missing from Infinite:
-holding more than 2 weapons
-actual health instead of a halo regenerating shield
-hacking of any type
-non-linear multi floor levels with tons of objectives you can do in whatever order you want
-neutral "enemies" like Big Daddies that you could mess around with or turn to your side
-visual weapon upgrades
-ammo types
-a story that wasn't something copy pasted from reruns of Sliders
Boring shooter which done away with things that made it's predecessors great, but forgot to put anything else in to fill the void.
Enemies are all same, and for the city where tonics were given out for free on fair there's next to none opponents who can use magic on you.
Gunplay is crazy bland, guns barely do any damage, barely make you feel like you are shooting anything at all. Also, removal of hacking was bad idea, because temporarily-controlled turrets are liability and will shoot you in back in worst possible moment. I can see how they tried to shake things up (like, there's no downsides to hacking at all, and destroying automated defense makes game harder), but the path they took is probably worst one out there.
Story is rushed and has more holes than someone's socks. Even outside the ending there are many logical problems with shit they tried to pull off.
Final fight is absolute fucking letdown of century. Instead of fighting Songbird you just have to sit tight and shoot regular enemies until game goes for a cutscene.
I really liked Infinite
Not the best game every or anything but it was a solid shooter in an imaginative, colorful setting which is pretty rare
oh dear
I'm sure you'll enjoy it, the game gives you just enough to keep you going, just make sure to update us once the afterglow wears off.
It's a good game, but you gotta not be a retard to enjoy it. Most people here don't realize that it's still doing meta commentary on video games but in a more subtle way than Bioshock 1. Just like how Bioshock 1 wasn't really about objectivism being bad, this game's not about some dumb social commentary either. Also the game's plotholes aren't plotholes because the game's universe clearly has its own set of rules that get repeated over and over and over again in the end to make sure the player gets it (these retards here on Sup Forums still didn't get it.) Also in terms of gameplay it plays the best of the Shock series BY FAR. For once it's not clunky shit.
Assuming you can put up with the boring gunplay, the retarded way the game forces you to stop using certain weapons, the shear lack of creativity between the zoids or what the fuck ever they were called in this game. When you get close to the end, you'll be at the edge of your seat thinking the reveal is going to be fucking gold. This is it, this is what you've been trudging though shit for. It has to be good to warrant it all. Then it happens, and all you can do is sit back with a disgusted face and mumble "what the fuck?" to yourself.
This is pretty good pasta, haven't seen it before.
memes and shitposting
SPOILER WARNING!!!
Booker is the Prophet from another, Elizabeth is his child from another dimension, your choices don't really matter. Kys yourself
>political(ly correct),
>niggers and irish are the scum of the earth
t. never played the game
I hate it because it removed everything I thought was enjoyable about Bioshock for a generic linear shootan game. But yeah it looks nice
unironically 3 bells is a much more secure code than a digit code, bells have infinite possibilities of the code, where a digit code is finite to the amount of numbers
>people think this was legit trying to be a puzzle
How stupid is Sup Forums?
The game doesn't even have the balls to say Nigger, kinda hard to believe the overriding theme of oppression when characters barely act like they should. Literally virtue signalling.
give up user
this game requires the intellect your mind can't even comprehend.
compared to the Average Bioshock Invinite Player you're nothing more than a mere child.
you won't be able to solve the first bell equation and even if you use youtube to get past it the story is so complex you need to be a mathematical genius to understand it and only those with masters in physics will be able to appreciate the concepts portrayed in this exceptional masterpiece.
Girls just wanna have fun
If you're not playing on 1999 mode, you need to uninstall from life
a shit game that wants to be system shock 2 but steampunk
I never got into Bioshock 1 or 2. Gameplay was fun but I didn't enjoy the atmosphere. It was too spooky, too depressing to actually enjoy it. Infinite looks pretty good though, so should I install it? Or is it necessary/recommended to play the previous games first?
Kill yourself
Just play prey.
Something that could have been.
the atmosphere in infinite is pretty comfy
1999 is fun, but only if you enjoy scavenging loads and specializing in vigors and weapons, which is counter intuitive to the run and gunning of the game.
If you want to be able to max all vigors and lots of guns you need to play on at least normal.
for me 1999 is the only way to play and winter shield is god mode, I play CitC for the gunplay and vogor combos
>tfw I still haven't got past the bells
I still don't get it
What the fuck is it, then?
>It was too spooky, too depressing to actually enjoy it
this is me, this is why I don't play dark games like souls or castlevania, I don't like dark depressing settings.
Infiniate is bright and cheerful until later into the game when shit goes upside down.
>Not mentioning they fired Stephen Russell after he did all the trailers and instead hired Troy Baker who just copied Stephen Russells voice in a shitty impersonation anyway
Yes.
a fun videogame
a tribute to the motherland?
