I was shared between two different houses, Dad had Sega Genesis, Mom had SNES. I guess Genesis was technically my first as Sonic was my first time learning to play any vidya at age 3 or something, but I had a lot of similar clumsy learning experiences on the SNES too.

I got my 4 year-old niece playing Super Mario World and DKC on my SNES the other day.

There's no need to be a bitter old fuck when you could accept that people younger than you may enjoy games you enjoyed at their age.

Add to it shit like emulators and older games offered digitally on tons of systems these days.

There's plenty of ways for younger people to play older classics and still enjoy them.
