I own two laptops. One ASUS R510VX-DM151D, Intel® Core™ i7-6700HQ up to 3.5GHz, 15.6" Full HD, 8GB, 1TB, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M 4GB, running Windows 10. And one, rather old, Acer Aspire 8950G-9839 Processor: Intel Core i7 2630QM Graphics Adapter: AMD Radeon HD 6850M Display: 18.4 inch, it runs Windows 7.
Neither of them are able to run NieR Automata. The Asus has some chance on low settings, but the game keeps crashing. I already bumped the Nvidia settings to max performance and the game settings to low, it does not work so bad but it crashes before i can do a savegame. Oh and the fan is going crazy from the heat.
What can i do to play this game? I am thinking of selling both laptops and getting something else. Problem is i have no money. The Acer seems like it won't get more than 100 dollars, the Asus could probably go for a lot more, but i don't know how much. What do you reckon /adv/, how much can it sell for?
Before i sell, i want to recover all my data. Problem is i know shit fuck about computers, and my acer is heavily virused (just the usual you get from porn sites). What is the best way to recover data from an old laptop without compromising the unit i'll be transferring it to? Thinking of using some sort of external memory, but what to do about corrupted or infected files? Should i just give up all my old photos and my music collection? It's the photos i care more about, perhaps there is some clout tool i can use for that.
Lastly, what should i buy instead? I literally just want it to be able to run NieR smoothly, preferably with good graphics. Should i give up on a stupid PC since i can't afford a high-end gaming one and just get the PS4 pro? Have any of you played the game on console, is it good? Or can i actually get something worthwile and join the masterrace?

Your pictures and music files should be fine if you just move those. If you want to try and clean up the other laptop then move the files you want off of it and then do a fresh install would be the easiest way. If you don't want to do that then look into Rkill, CCleaner, and some anti-malware scanners like Malwarebyes.
Look into the Low Spec Gamer on Youtube to see if there's any other tweaks you can do. I think he did a video on Nier but I'm too lazy to look it up right now.
