Why does Koei seem to love putting their own characters in Warrior games? Shouldn't you just want the characters in the IP and not some random person? Hyrule Warrior had the same issue and the only reason I was fine with it was because the story was so fucking dumb that it was kinda fun.

Seem Hyrule Warrior was a giant hit for Koei and was actively talking to Nintendo to do another. Guess with FE being a big hit with Awakening everyone felt it was the logical choice to do it.

It will never happen but a Pokemon Musou game will literally be the best game ever made.

Either way, I'm glad there's going to be more spinoff Musous. They always seem to play more smoothly than the mainline ones since everyone can just dash without needing to whistle for a horse.

Trying to think of another Nintendo series with enough characters and would work as a Musou game and Mario is the only one I can really think of. Animal Crossing has a ton of characters but doesn't really work as a Musou game considering the game.

I think they're much more polished because KOEI has someone breathing down their neck to not fuck up. Not like Musou games has that many colossal blunders anyway. I'm scared shitless for DW9 considering how much it's changing and could very well end up being DW6 all over again.

They made their Monster Hunter esque game Toukiden 2 open world, I think it worked out fine but I dunno if it would work out for a Musou game.

This is a thing since the super robot wars games who crossovers multiple mechas franchises.
Having a donut steel with the lead in the story is a way to avoid fanboys wars like "WHY X HAS THE MOST SPOTLIGHT WHEN Y HAS WAY MORE SALES AND FANBASE THAN X ?"

I think key difference is that HW attracted Zelda fans more than your Musou fans. This is important because it's questionable whether these people ventured to other Musou games after they were done with HW.

But why Fates (outside the obvious SALES)? Awakening is set in Archanea, so it would be fine with Shadow Dragon and Mystery of thr Emblem stuff. Gaiden/Echoes would work, too, as Valentia is not far from there. But Fates is just so random.
