Pokken would be alright and worth the cash if they doubled the roster.

It has better N64 emulation than PC, and PC can't reliably emulate Wii U games yet.

PC can't emulate DS as well as WiiU can due to to the lack of peripherals. WiiU can play GCN, Wii, WiiU and DS as they are mean to be played. It also emulates N64 and SNES flawlessly, AND has access to the right peripherals.

WiiU beats out PC in terms of Nintendo emulation. You have access to perfect emulation of ever Nintendo game EVER from WiiU backwards, plus the right peripherals to play them with. The only thing missing is a SNES mote, but I'm sure there's a workaround if need be.

ARMS just feels like a more fun version of Pokken. Both are highly simplified, 3D variations on traditional fighting game mechanics. ARMS just has the motion control gimmick done right and more unique gameplay.

Did Pokken bomb or what? Because of Nintendo money it appeared at EVO, but it feels like it was quickly abandoned by Nintendo and fans alike after that. Admittedly I haven't gone out of my way to look up news about the game, but it feels like people were hyped for it and then it just vanished into nothing.

the Wii U has a local mode, if you connect 2 Wii Us with each other
for some people it's a hassle to set it up
Switch Port would most likely have easier to set up due adhoc

there is a small dedicated fanbase, which still play this game
for traditional fighting game fans it was not complex enough, for beginners it was too complicated
phase shift also requires some knowledge, which is pretty confusing to the average viewer

It's still got a small community that rides the coattails of events like CEO and such, but it's rapidly dwindling. Between being a niche game and the fanbase being bitter about the DLC characters, it never had a chance.
