Whether this is legtit or not it's what I have expected. A full Mario Kart release has what, 8 cups? If they release 1 or 2 packs with 4 cups each and new characters I am fine with that. Hell, they could release them routine the lifespan of the Switch if they want and I would like that.

I like Mario Kart 8 because they finally fixed the blue shell by making it travel along the ground again (so it can actually help the player who gets it) and putting in an item that makes it easy to counter said blue shell if you can get to first without using it.

I'm sorry but it really isn't the same. Characters in the same weight class all have the same hit boxes and stats so all the number crunching is done, the characters themselves don't even have a lot of complex animations, particularly since those animations don't affect and interact with other players so much as items do. Making Mario Kart characters probably takes weeks, not months. I'm of the opinion that MK8 now has the best roster to pick from that can accommodate everyone's tastes, but the launch roster with the babies and metals skins was total laziness.
