why didn't they call it Cyrodiil?

Because it was about the Oblivion invasion
Skyrim was about dragons, they didn't call it 'TES: Dragons are back'
THE HAVE OF HEARD YOU ELVES HIGH?
Because that's a retarded name and TES games have a tradition of being named after the place they are set in, so "Skyrim" was the natural choice.
Because you spent more time in Oblivion. I could tell you more, but I need you to close those three oblivion gates outside my city first.
that is not a retarded name
>Presenting The Elder Scrolls V: Dragons Are Back
sounds pretty retarded to me
that's because you have no taste in wording
I can't wait until The Elder Scrolls VI: Fucking High Elf Cunts.
man I would buy that shit
The Elder Scrolls IV: Imperial Province
get
pretty much no one replying to this will actually replay oblivion, as it's the worst of the TES games by far
any recommended mods though? maybe some hidden gems I haven't found?
rolling for kvatch
Because Cyrodiil sounds silly.
Dagger Fall, Morrow Wind and Sky Rim might be stupid nonsense, but they all mean something and has some marketable qualities to them.
Dagon's realm isn't even oblivion
Because every (main) game title is alphabetically after the other, Cyrodiil wouldn't have worked
>Arena
>Daggerfall
>Morrowind
>Oblivion
>Skyrim
Bbc
>ADMOS
what's the message here?
what does Adoms mean?
Have you tried Nehrim i liked it more than oblivion.
Elder scrolls vi: MAD ABOUT ELVES
Does that mean Valenwood is confirmed for next game?
Or I guess Hammerfell if they want to use Volenfell as the name.
>TES games have a tradition of being named after the place they are set in
Then why isn't it called Cyrodiil
To get that trick in the startup:
>IV (trumpets blaring)
>Elder Scrolls
>Elder Scrolls OblIVon
I didn't say it spells a word, it's just that every new game's title comes AFTER the previous one in the alphabet, that's why Valenwood is a good guess for the next game.
Although I personally still think that it's gonna be set in Hammerfell instead, no clue what the title of it would be then.
To be fair the game is set in Oblivion as well as Cyrodiil.
because "tradition" doesn't mean it must be followed everytime.
Besides you spend more time in Oblivion than in Cyrodill in TES4, it's ridiculous.
Dagon's realm is within oblivion, thus you spend more time in oblivion.
>Arena
>set in Tamriel aka "the arena"
>Daggerfall
>set in Iliac Bay region
>Morrowind
>set in Vvardenfell
>Oblivion
>set in Cyrodiil
>Skyrim
>set in Skyrim
Bonus round:
>Battlespire
>set in Oblivion
>Redguard
>set in Stros M'kai
Because Mundus is just another realm of Oblivion
Who does the main quest in an elder scrolls game you fucking nerds
As said. The Dwemer name for Hammerfell was Volenfell, so that would work.
>Daggerfall
>set around the city of Daggerfall
>Morrowind
>set in an island that belongs to Morrowind
>Oblivion
>set in Oblivion, and Cyrodiil
>Skyrim
>set in Skyrim
You know you don't have to enter every oblivion gate you see? The good thing about the TES games is that they are open world and you can do the stuff you want to do.
If you for some reason want to do the MQ you only need to enter 3 gates anyways.
Hoping for battlemage
Why would you hope for that
magic sucks donkey ass in oblivion
>The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind is the only game in the main series where the player does not have to fight his way out of a starter dungeon
>The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is the first TES game in which the player's health regenerates on its own
>you can be crowned Emperor in ESO
>set around the city of Daggerfall
The city of Daggerfall is a very tiny part of the map, and the greater Daggerfall region is still a small fraction of the 46-region map in which the game takes place. The name refers to the most important kingdom in the game rather than the setting.
Likewise with Oblivion, you spend far more time in Cyrodiil than the titular realm. You might as well have called TES V "Sovngarde" since it's partially set there.
I thought Battlespire was in some sort of void between Oblivion and Nirn?
But Daggerfall is not set around the city of Daggerfall. It's just where the story starts out. It would sort of be like calling Skyrim "Riverwood".
Here I go starting the game again
Battlespire starts off in the wizard tower called "The Battlespire" which is supposed to reside in that void. Mehrunes Dagon takes over and fucks that up, however, trying to make it one of his realms.
After the second level (the game has eight levels total) you spend the entire rest of the game traveling between various realms of Oblivion.
it was so they could do the IV in OBL"IV"ION shit in the intro
I see, dope.
It's a shame the game runs like such ass in DOSBOX because I've always wanted to try it. Even if it's shit.
what mods are you gonna use user?
I like it. The dungeon design is a lot better than any of the real TES games. But that shouldn't be surprising since the entire game is nothing but a linear series of dungeons. I tried the GOG release (which uses DOSBox) recently to replay it and it ran pretty well except for one of the more open levels which takes place on an island and lagged horribly in the city. Pic related is by far the worst part of the game in terms of performance, you can see it improve a lot when the character goes indoors in the last couple seconds.
For me even the starting area runs like farts. Guess it couldn't hurt to give it another try though. Play around with some settings here and there.
Oblivion is a lot more marketable and easier to remember than some cheesy fantasy name
rooollll
Rolling for dat replay.
I use the Start Sequence skip where you start on a boat, and a lot of immersion mods like real windows and weather in addition i also like the Better Cities, it's just too bad all the new NPCs are generic no names. I have no clue what to use for Combat and Magic. Although with that roll I'm a Khajit Archer living in Anvil
OK Kid
So valenwood or we wuz Kings confirmed next
