Go to relative's house, see little cousin

>Go to relative's house, see little cousin
>Hey user, wanna play ps4
>All he has is minecraft and minecraft story mode
>He hasn't even played them yet he just likes watching other people play games
Is this the future of videogames?

my nephew couldn't even play fucking yoshi's wooly world and he's 8

>>>He hasn't even played them yet he just likes watching other people play games
>Is this the future of videogames?
>tfw all i do is watch let's plays and can't bring myself to play games anymore

I cannot comprehend the idea of watching a lets play. Especially people who sit there and watch entire lets plays, just buy the fucking game.

Lets plays were a mistake

>Just buy the game!!

Just because you can suck dick for a few extra bucks doesn't mean the rest of us want to, user.

Think of it like this
>free to watch others play
>can do other things
>don't have to getgud, don't have to grind
>if the game's a story game, you get all the benefit of enjoying the story without trodging through the game

There's reasons people do it. For minecraft, it's that there's so many different ways to do shit in it that it's like a "while I am doing this, how are others going about it" kind of deal

Plus, it's good whitenoise.

They did an arc about this a few years ago on South Park.

But user dicks taste good!

1.Stop being cheap and support the devs if you like the game
2.Yeah, like actually play a game
3. What percentage of games nowadays actually offer players a genuine challenge?
4. I can agree to disagree with this one

i talk to a little girl online and all she likes is watching me play games on a stream. because she can never play any video games at her house even though she gets any game she wants.

>i talk to a little girl online

shes not for sexual

>Talk to a little girl
Party van is pulling up right now, user

I didn't get to play Soul Reaver until I was 17 and discovered emulation because my parents were poor as shit and didn't want me playing games that weren't age appropriate. As a kid I experienced it vicariously through reviews and walkthroughs, and I feel pretty certain that if let's plays had existed back then, I would have watched one. I see the appeal, even if I'm too old now to buy into the idea myself.

I recently started teaching in a high school. Years 10 to 12. The year 12 VCAL class had to read a graphic novel. basically a long comic book. The fact that they read slow as shit is something I can understand.

What I can't understand is HOW THE FUCK THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW TO READ A COMIC BOOK

Half the fucking class had NO IDEA in what form to read the fucking book. This is the future generation. 18 year old adults who don't even understand how to read left to right and up to down.

how little and do you realize how creepy that sounds

but also kind of cute as long as you're not grooming her

shes 15 i am 22. i never said anything sexual to her, but she has said before that she "like likes" me, which i brush off

I somehow find it even creepier that you refer to a 15 year old as a "little girl"

are your initials H.H. by any chance

I play the Lego games every now and then with my nephew, kinda fun to see him having problems with some more precise jumps i wonder if i was alos this bad back then

nah, why

>Enjoy the games story
If the story is good bits and pieces will be spread throughout the level (notes, audio logs, side areas) which the streamer usually misses

some russian guy wrote a book about someone a lot like you

I watch Lets plays for multiple reasons.

>Games where I KNOW the only good thing is the story (for exampe, Rule of Rose. Great psychological horror, fucking shitty actual game)

>To see what a game's gameplay is actually like, outside of carefully edited gameplay trailers that only shows the highlights. Plus Lets Plays can also work as informal reviews, as you can see when the players are or are not enjoying the game

>Commentary. I like hearing people talk about games they enjoy, so I'm particularly fond of the Best Friends playing Dark Souls games. Pat clearly loves the shit out of SoulsBorne, its fun listening to him talk about the lore and differences between games and shit. Plus, him teaching Woolie how to play a Souls game for the first time is pretty fun too

Basically I watch Lets Plays for games I'd never buy, to see if its worth buying, or for games I've already bought and I want to see how other people react to them. I totally agree that a Lets Play shouldn't normally replace just playing a game, you can't assume that everyone who watches Lets Plays does it for the same reason and they never play games.

what do you mean by a lot like me
