I have to agree. They share some similarities, but for the most part, Kenny has proved himself to be intelligent, resourceful, as well as caring and generous to those he loves. David is abusive to everybody, doesn't do anything useful, and has had wool pulled over his eyes by Joan for who knows how long. He isn't an evil guy, but I wouldn't shed any tears over him.

If you listen to the dialog it almost seems like a joke.

Good episode btw. Kind of makes me rethink a lot about how these characters were built up throughout the season. They aren't as immediately engaging as Lee or Kenny or whatever, but something about them feels more natural, more human in retrospect. Gabe in particular really came around for me; I'd been optimistic about him abandoning the whiny teen phase and coming-of-age since episode 2 when I made the promise to Kate, and the complex relationship he holds with his Dad really fleshed things out for him in the finale. Plus Javi is just such a great protagonist, with arguably more dimensions and flaws than Lee. There's a lot that could be explored about the family unit in this season, and with that in the back of my mind when I get around to replaying it (and trust me, I have *way* more of a desire to do that than S2), I think I'm gonna really warm up to these episodes in the near future.
