I find it hilarious that literally everything from Nomura's E3 2013 trailer was cut. Not a single thing was put into the final game. Tabata completely wiped any influence Nomura had out. He tried to create something better than what Nomura was going for and failed miserably at it

I find it even more funny that once Sakaguchi left, Nomura became Square's big man. He is the idea guy (which is why he has so many fucking Creative Producer credits). Square goes to Nomura for fresh new ideas. For the life of me, I have no fucking idea why Tabata thought his idea for Final Fantasy XV was better than Nomura's. I will never understand.

I felt more disappointed with XIII due to having high expectations from it. I only had okay to mediocre expectations for XV due to XIII, which XV for the most part reached.
I hate XV apologists. If the original KH team who made KH1 and KH2 made Versus XIII, it would have turned out so much better than XV. I know this for a fact. It would have been more RPG like, and not pretending to be full on action like XV is. All playable characters, all waaay better designed than the shit show we got, the areas would have looked nicer and more compact. I don't give a fuck if it was going to be linear. That is 100000x better than the open world we got, with invisible walls, and on rails driving sections. Everything about the combat looked better, and especially the story would have been a lot better and darker like it was originally planned. When I played XV for the first couple hours, I was tearing up because of how bad it was compared to everything Nomura planned. I saw the first trailer when I was fucking 12 and I am 22 now. It was like watching your own child grow up and slowly turn into a fucking drug addicted killer.

I remember reading that after XIII came out and the versus went back to pre-production on the game, they had to come up with a small demo in couple of months that showed the game was still being worked on and that development should continue. There was another article where nomura was present at one of the showings of the demo and he was nervous as fuck

I read the entire thing and it was making excuses for Nomura about virtually every single fucking thing. He single handed has ruined every franchise he has touched and there is no question about it at this point. While FF Versus XIII woulda been a much better game, I still enjoyed my short time with the mess that is FFXV, platinumed the game on PS4, the fishing mini game is fun, combat is okay-ish, monster design is great and a few memorable music tracks. The party of bros on a roadtrip slaying monsters was a good time and I have to hand it to them, at least they're listening to fans about problems the game has and are trying to correct them, I'm pretty curious to see what the Multiplayer component of the game will be (if its not most likely cancelled)

Building shit in-house engines, nomura not wanting to make kh3 for forever, and his decision to switch to slowly switch over to luminous are just some of the things you could have learned.
