jesus

despite what the internet tells you, Switch is actually a well-designed machine

you guys want to read stupidity? come no further

>of course it survives, it's a small machine

>well duh it lives because of air resistance, try doing it in a vacuum!

>A brief history of user and his Nintendo consoles
>NES - Survived a eight year old's temper tantrum after dying in Zelda II just outside of the great palace
>SNES - Survived my older sister hanging it off the fucking dresser like the idiot she was when she borrowed it
>N64 - Controller survived aforementioned sister throwing it in a fit of rage, also still works to this day while being a launch N64
>Gamecube - Survived getting pissed on by my sister's shitty dog (multiple times), being dropped on the concrete road walking down to my cousin's (multiple times), and once dropped it down the stairs when taking it up to my room - STILL FUCKING WORKS
>Wii - Launch system, survived my dad dropping the receiver that used to set on the TV on top of it during the whole "analog TV is dead" thing
>Wii U - Tablet has been through some shit, including being nibbled on by a naughty bunny, Y button is just gone after 400 hours of Hyrule Warriors
>Switch - Left joycon had the issue and had to be sent in, left side joycon also fits into the unit slightly looser than the right side

My handhelds were also semi-indestructible until the 3DS. My launch DS Phat doesn't have a scratch on it despite going with me EVERYWHERE, and it wasn't until my FIVE 3DSes that they started breaking every two seconds.

I actually pre-ordered a 2DS XL just because my launch n3DS XL is already worn out and that's been what, two years? Three?

why didn't you send back your left joycon

>AND HAD TO BE SENT IN
Read user

Before I saw the Scorpio I would have said that the Switch was the best designed console.

>durability grade after one drop
If it landed slightly differently the entire thing would have been destroyed.

Or maybe it is just the fact that the left joycon took the full blow. Remembering one of the reviewers the switch unit is fucked now since it won't lock the left side now

my bad
impact doesn't necessarily "dissipate" like that user

Where are you gonna find a 1000 ft tall vaccuum?

take your PS4 or Xbone or PC, glue a controller to the side and drop it from 1000 feet and see how it fares.

And people still claim the dock magically scratched their screed
youtube.com/watch?v=CYgeTGHKraM

I dunno, apparently that guy thinks people who play switches live in a vacuum
where did the "dock bends switch" meme came from anyway? sounds more like a defective unit

>make a console with nintendium
>give it sony-tier hardware
y u do dis nintendo

>>well duh it lives because of air resistance, try doing it in a vacuum!
no fucking way someone said this

The channel also has videos of dropping an iPhone 7 and a S8..

>iPhone completely breaks.
>S8 cracks a lot and camera stopped working.
>Switch still works MUH SMALL MACHINE MUH AIR RESISTANCE

neogaf is getting dumber every year.

>>give it sony-tier hardware
Sony does not invest in researching for durability, PS4 is a PC inside a custome made casket

>no fucking way someone said this
are you doubting neo fags?

It's not the dock bending the Switch, it's that some Switches have poor fans and it gets so goddamn hot it warps slightly.

It's somewhat of an issue with the launch Switches but has calmed down. You'd have to be playing for literally hours on end for it to do it though.

>Again go to the 2:10-2:13 mark of the video. When the Switch falls flat the wind carries it and slows it down. You can easily appreciate it in the video. This saved it from harm. Do the same in a vacuum and it will break to pieces.

So essentially later production Switches are safe?

>sony-tier hardware
FUCK
I meant software
i.e. bad software

the Switch GPU/CPU would have shut down before the system would have become hot enough to warp, it's probably an issue with the plastic they used which does have other issues, or it came warped, I'm not saying that the heat warped it but the generally extra durable plastic has some strange chemical reactions.

I do wonder if it's because of the massive sony shilling or if nintendo switch is really wrecking their shit

like, that's the only place I've seen that stated that "switch is a poorly thought out, poorly designed hardware"

Consolefags go to the most ludicrous lengths to attack other consoles and defend theirs.

But this is just on another fucking level.

And that's what happens when you learn physics from videogames

this is your brain on Neogaf.

it obliterated one of the joycons and the rest of it only lived because of that

again, physics don't work that way, joycons don't magically absorb impact

and there have been numerous tests without the joycons

at least some of his peers are making fun of him too

>facebook
stay there

is 1000ft enough for it to reach terminal velocity? if so, the thing could survive any fall, really
at least as long as it lands on one of the joycons so it takes the impact instead of the console I guess

still, it was either a very lucky landing, or the switch really is a very well built console

>implying that guy won't be banned for going against the sony hivemind

Are you really so fucking daft that you couldn't figure out that that's exactly the kind of reply a post like that is fishing for?

t. facebook

it conitnues to run while it's being ripped, and only dies when the battery is struck

youtube.com/watch?v=qBVyF0I2Ruo

why does this video need to be almost four minutes long

like what the fuck dropping it took not even 10

welcome to bloated youtube videos

>supposed to be a short review
>2 mins dedicated to introduction and catchphrases

>cut giant holes through it and then still banter about the kickstand video
cnet will never live it down

All you had to say was yes.

t. facebook

So are you going to keep giving me the (you)s as long as I reply?

I have two Switches

Both have bent docks, both have AUX buzzing, one has a loose creaky right trigger, one both joycons are loose and wobbly.

The Switches build quality is garbage

until you go back to facebook

then why not trade them

Good luck with that.
Give me another.

>The Switches build quality is garbage

Exactly, but don't argue with Sup Forumsintendo because they'll shit all over you

sure thing aniki

lmao, it fucking almost fell into a drain.

Well the joycon does take most of the impact. Seems smart then that they detach and can be replaced. But I doubt it would survive without the joy-cons attached.

You getting really unlucky doesn't equate to the majority who have had good experiences with the hardware.

Christ, I didn't think it would work this well.

Right above Planet Druidia

majority that had good experiences? Fanboys that are stoked about new hardware they haven't even had for 90 days?

I don't see massive reports claiming to have a similar problems to yours.

That should tell you something.

>everyone else except me are fanboys
go read the whole thread

I hope this thread teaches a lesson to people saying that a glass screen would be better for the switch

A thinkpad, probably

Jesus fuck. that has to be bullshit

Eeey my nig. Came here to post this.
