Because retards were literally crying to PB they couldn't into R1 combat with the dodges, and unfortunately PB gave in to the whining and made the combat retard proof in R2/3 and what seems ELEX as well.

Risen 1 is really great. Don't listen to the idiots who tell you otherwise and think it's now cool to hate it because 2 and 3 sucked.

It's weaker than Gothic in some departments, sure, but it's still a really good "spiritual successor".

Risen 1 is good. Risen 2 and 3 are meh.

First half of the first Risen is great.
Second half is mediocre because its nothing but lizardcaves and a gimmick final boss.

Second is the weakest PB game but its not as bad as most people say.
It's linear and has some retarded mechanics but if you don't want to hate it you probably won't hate it.

Risen 3 was them saying they will fix what people disliked about Risen 2 but overall it was just Fanservice the Game and tried to make everyone happy.
And while it removed some of Risen2's worst parts it also introduced new stuff which wasn't good.

Overall: None of those games are actually bad. At worst they are mediocre but even those mediocre games still shine at times.
Personally i would still play Risen 2 and 3 over another Skyrim run any day.

I own Gothic 1, 2 and 3 on Steam (played 1 and 2) and now I'm seeing that "Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods Enhanced Edition" also exists

Is that a stand alone expansion for Gothic 3 you launch separately from the base game?
Should I play it after I played Gothic 3?

Yeah, with the exception that loot is hand-placed, joining a faction is mandatory, and the story has chapter-progression.

Some facts about ELEX:

Actually, it wasn't. For better or worse, Arcania was made by Germans - the same guys who've done Desperados. Yeah, what a shame.

But Forsaken Gods was done by Indians.

Well it's not a Gothic game, and not very good, but at least it is not an utterly broken piece of shit like Forsaken Gods.

They said that they are aware of the problems that come with a bigger world and content-spread.

The thing is that the jetpack changes the way you explore the world. So much that the bigger world doesn't make much of a difference.

I would absolutely recommend watching the Durmin Paradox Forsaken Gods review though, but apparently the guy went into self-exile and deleted everything.
