Was it good? What was wrong with it? I don't think I've ever seen a Bethesda game tank in price so fast. It's $20 at most retail stores right now.

not nearly as bad as people say. Was hip to hate on it.

More of the same, some things worse, some things better

I hate to say the generic it was s good game just not a good Fallout game shtick but basically that

Do you mean in terms of the first three Fallouts or in terms of it not being a goo FO3/New Vegas

I'm enjoying the hell out of it. Picked it up late, but been playing it since for a little under a year. Over 200 hours, sided with the BoS, built my main settlement on Spectacle Island, still playing Nuka-World, about to take Kiddie Kingdom.

Very fun shoot and loot game. Story is dumb but so are all video game stories.

no it wasn't good. it was fun and pretty mindless and there's nothing wrong with that but there's just nothing there for me to keep me playing. no roleplaying, choices, real pathing or versatility

its worth $20 if you get all the DLC's with it I suppose

It's been out a year and half. No fucking shit it's $20. Many games go down to $20 after 7-8 months.

the 3D fallouts, I like 3 even with its glaring flaws so I liked 4 by extension but story, choice, faction and and general RPG wise it's nowhere near 3. The only thing 4 improved on was graphics and gunplay

and obviously it's far below new vegas

>Rise of the Tomb Raider still $40
>Wooly World still $30
>Ass Creed Syndicate still $30
>Just Cause 3 still $30

And there's weirdly no GOTY edition iirc

Uh... how is it far below 3? You mention choices and factions for example, and give fallout 3 the edge, despite the fact Fallout 3 only had a good faction and a bad faction, and Fallout 4 had four to choose from.

you do realize it was released years ago, right? I picked up fallout 3 goty edition for 20 a couple years after it was out

goty editions are glorified game packaged with dlc. whenever they release the og versions go down in value. the "goty" goes by "deluxe edition" now

Not sure why you're explaining to me what a GOTY edition is but I was saying it's weird that FO4 doesn't have one.

Haha, of course it's good, why are you asking that silly question?
But you already bought it on release day, right?

It just plain wasn't very good. It had some good bits, but they were minor things, like big stompy power armor animations. It's cool, but it doesn't really add anything.

The game is also a fucking mess under the hood and a massive pain in the ass to mod for. The precombined meshes in particular make things a nightmare for me, personally.

it's the only bethesda game I played to completion without needing to install mods to keep me interested. it's also the only bethesda game that didn't crash on me even without mods fucking things up.

It was an absolute failure. The few improvements it had (basically the only one notable one is improved combat) certainly aren't enough to compensate for all the things it does worse than its predecessors. The new character development system is horrid, dialogue system is ridiculously bad, removal of practically all skillchecks makes it so that everything else than combat power is pointless, the repetitive settlement shit was used to compensate for the lack ot actual content, the new legendary loot system is absolutely retarded when compared to the hand-placed unique loot the older games had...

I mean, even 3 was quite enjoyable open world RPG even if it had some dumb shit in it, but 4 doesn't really feel like a RPG at all anymore. I wasn't expecting for it to surpass New Vegas or anything, but I didn't expect that it would really be so much worse than 3 was.

Fallout power rankings (unmodded)
2>1>NV>>>>>>tactics

NV is the best one with mods though

It has the best combat out of all the fps fallouts, however they did forsake alot of RPG elements to get to that point.

There is like 4 guns in the game worth mentioning, and much fewer quests and explorable locations and areas.

Mod it till it breaks, as usual the modding community fixes alot of shortcoming from Bethesda, hell i almost think they do that on purpose sometimes.

Fallout 4 was two steps forward, three steps in the wrong direction, and four steps back.
