Reminder Heihachi survived from falling from a cliff in Tekken 1 and survived an explosion in Tekken 5. You'd think he'll come back from a molten lava right? Shit he'll probably end up like Jinpachi.

If the series were ever to end, Devil Heihachi would be one of the more likely final bosses.

I was surprised to see her still on Zaibatsu at the beginning.

I honestly thought she would leave Zaibatsu immediately after Jin "died". I guess her contract also included "search the leader if he/she goes missing" clause.

The first Tekken game I've played is 3 so I wasn't too familiar with the cast then.

Story is everything in Mortal Kombat, if the character is dead or have no role in the story then he/she is out.

Same with King of Fighters. Then again, I don't remember Terry Bogard having important role in every KoF saga, I guess he's too popular even though he was never relevant in KoF story.

I think Tekken overall story suffered because they try to include everyone.

They should do it like KoF, make Tekken Tag Tournament the "dream match" game while the main Tekken series only include characters that actually relevant to the story or at least have sub-plot that could connect with the main story.

so this is my first tekken game i've picked up seriously (i've only ever played it at friends' houses where we just randomly button mash) and I'm really overwhelmed at even just the movelists

i picked up dragunov and I'm having a hard time learning the movement in this game, really. half the time i try to sidestep and i just end up teabagging the ground 50 times and then eat a burning fist in the face from Paul. is there a good way to practise or is it all just something that will come with time?

Pick one of the new characters if you don't like big movelists. Dragunov has some complicated aspects to him even though his playstyle is pretty straight forward.
Go into training mode and learn the basic punishers and a staple combo, then go online and try to play reactively, don't just abuse cheap tricks.

I have a feeling Akuma owes some his succesful intergration with the dark hoadou to Kazumi whilst he was first training and surviving in the wilderness. Ahows just how fucking old Akuma is though, he must be pushing into his 70's like Heihachi

Kazumi realized her son, Heihachi, and her grandson Kazuya would bring unprecedented chaos to the world and she asked him to kill both. So Akuma spends the game hunting Heihachi and Kazuya. Except Kazuya kills Heihachi and Akuma fails to kill Kazuya.

I know I shouldn't care about a story when it comes to Tekken but god that story was horrendous and short as fuck with no satisfying conclusion. We all know Heihachi ain't dead there's no way he's getting killed off ever. They've also been recycling the same plot over and over for everybody. Hwoarang has been following Jin for five games now, it's time to give it a rest. Just give us something new.
I just assume most of his interactions with Jin are non canon because otherwise him being that strong makes no sense.
