Please discuss this game with me, no one ever replies to my Sup Forums threads.
What is it? RTS or a sim game?
RTS
RTS where you build your own castle

thread music
A bit of both
Why am I so fat?
I could never manage to get into the game
the tutorial makes it seem like the later game is going to be boring as hell
a criminally overlooked rts game
RTS
the first Strongold and Stronghold 2 are more mixtures of both with campaigns that are more castle sims
Are there any other games like stronghold?
More rts than anything but calling it a lite siege defence sim isn't inaccurate
>Build a huge wall and tower
>Fill it with fire archers
>Spend the next hour of game time building trebuchets and onagers and flinging shit at each other
Fun game but the combat was pretty boring.
Also mercenary rushing is OP as fuck
trebuchet ready m'lord
just posting the best unit in the game
300-500 of those and you can get any castle in just a few minutes (with a lot less being enough to avoid it being built)
use mazemen to take out the main player quicker
I love playing CK2 for the management stuff, and I'd love to try out a Crusader game. Which one can you recommend me that can give me that fix?
fuck, meant Stronghold game
making maps and then seeing the AI lords interact on those was probably the most satisfying thing about the game
I remember playing a 1vs1 match with a friend on a map I made on Stronghold 2
sucks that getting multiplayer matches seems so difficult in the series, I don't play much on pc so I don't know whether it's different in those
this Stronghold collection trailer gives a nice overview of the first five games youtube.com
you might as well go for the entire collection, I recall it being pretty cheap
Stronghold Crusader is the most fun gameplay wise for me
your granary rations are LOW my lord
Do the games have mods?
I'm a sucker for modding
What to buy, 1 or Crusader?
Crusader has plently of mods, there's videos on youtube that show some
Friendly reminder that there's a Crusader mod that replaces graphics with Stronghold 1 visuals, if you're sick of looking at sand but want the skirmish mode.
You're chilling in your mansion building churches and taverns to raise happiness when this motherfucker comes over and tells your knights to watch their backs.
What do?
I want to be a crusader
give me games where I can CRUSADE
I like Crusader better, but haven't played 1 all that much.
I send slaves to burn his farms and horse archers to annoy him. Fight fire with fire, literally.
It doesn't really get much more DEUS VULT than this
I love stronghold crusader but I wanna BE the knight and personally slay Saracens with my own 2 virtual hands though.
M&B Warband with Anno Domini 1257 mod, or Sands of Faith mod.
Mount and Blade Warband has a great mod set in the 1200s including most of Europe and Middle East.
There was a Mount & Blade Warband Crusades mod but I don't know if it ever got finished (probably not). There's 1257AD though, you can go on a crusade there.
snap
Fuck this guy
[massed crossbow winding noises]
Bought Crusader because it's on sale and Stronghold was like the first game I ever played
Trying to do the campaign at the moment but I keep having issues where when I select troops I can't order them to attack and have to reselect
Love the castle building though
