The scorpio seems really promising top hardware + console optimization can do some crazy things, but the sad fact is that Microsoft blows crazy this generation, they canceled all their good games and have no real exclusives left for the future. You are better in with a PC, if Sony would have offered this kind of hardware with their Pro we would see some really amazing stuff, sadly they didn't.

Teraflops (lol Gigaflops this day and age) is a consistent metric of a gpus raw ability to crunch data. The issue is Sup Forums doesn't understand where this does (and does not) apply in relation to vidya.

When you look at it from a vacuum of just consoles you'd be right. this would be a more fatal flaw for Sony though not Microsoft.
Xbox is only 11% of Microsoft's overall profits. A bigger chunk of the pie goes to Windows.
Microsoft is betting their future on Windows 10 and Xbox plays a small role in that.
The scorpio is a powerful enough console that it'll be on the market for a while and when a newer xbox comes out it'll be architecturally the same as the scorpio but more powerful. The design of scorpio is for devs to make their games using DX12 and make them play on Windows 10 almost exclusively. Developing for the scorpio allows for an easier flow for developers to do this.

The more Scorpios on the field the more devs will make games for it and the more games you'll see being on Windows 10 and the more people will eventually jump onto it.

The nature of the console itself isn't to outsell PS4 cut a path for Window10

Vidya is the only medium pushing 4K right now. I don't think it'll fly very far in the immediate future.

This is all probably true in some sense. But the console market is a winner take all game now. You can't lose as hard as Microsoft did a second time and still get people to care about the potential of your platform and the software therein if it isn't appealing to consumers.

Let's make a more powerful console instead of optimizing games on the old one.
They really fucked up by not making it as powerful to keep cost down. If they were going to sell it for ~300 with no Kinect they should have just put better hard ware and have it cost more. The PS3 was like 600$ at launch and still did better than the Xbox one. Here's to another console that will last 3 years tops before everyone just starts moving to PC

If know the xbone provides very slight performance boosts to most 360 games, it'll be interesting to see how Scorpio will handle things. Especially for uncapped games.

This. I play on PC because it has the most games available, emulation or otherwise. Plus 90% of modern releases have or will get a decent PC port eventually. While I do care about performance, I hardly pay attention to graphics unless they are absurdly great or absurdly terrible.

That's 6x more powerful than the Xbox one which is a 900p console.

But PC'S aren't boat anchors user. They actually gave games. The Scorpio has no games, but it's too light to be a good boat anchor or a doorstop, and it's not attractive enough to be a kniknack.
