Ubisoft

Ubisoft

Bethesda

Deep Silver

Ubisoft

EA, I cant even remember the last time I even thought about playing their games

Konami

Bioware

>Company that makes shitty licensed games

Oh, that's easy!
Platinum Games

Ubisoft

Ninja Theory

It's hard to say because movie tie in games for consoles are becoming rarer..

Bethesda

Netherrealm

>the modern day equivalent of a company who made tons of shovelware to sell them simply based on brand recognition

hmmm

Activision.

LJN didn't make a single one of their games though.

Atlus, Rare, Pack in Video, Westone, they developed for LJN.

Also, Rare and Atlus' titles were usually decent.

EA

>Which company is the modern day equivalent of LJN?

I'd say certain smartphone gaming companies who makes licensed shovelware

Ubisoft.

They exclusively make absolute trash and no matter what genre they make, it's all samey bullshut with the same cliches and mechanics.

YET THEY SOMEHOW KEEP MAKING FUCKING MONEY

I would say Zoo or THQ but they're both out of business now.

After watching AVGN, I really question if there was some care put into these games, but something fucked up. It looked like LJN games tried to do something. I don't know.

Gotta go with Ubisoft

>tfw Todd's been making absolute shite since the 80's

So is 'LJN' the new term people co-opted to mean 'thing I don't like'?

My first thought was EA, but it could just be because of the rainbow.

Ubisoft and EA sort of work.

If you disagree name a better one you fucking dweeb.

>not posting Where's Waldo, which was a Bethesda game

Deep Silver released a ton of crap as a publisher despite having a few good ones. For every X-Universe and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. there was a Sacred 3 and Ride to Hell

Black Shell Media

97

Gearbox

If it isn't Borderlands, it's going to be made with the lowest possible budget ever given to a dev

Coldstone creamery the game.

No they don't sort of work

LJN made universally panned games, ubisoft and ea games are mostly hated by contrarians on message boards

Compile Heart

Shut up retard
Ubisoft keeps shelling out trash, unfinished games and then on top of that, puts out season passes before release to try and nickel and dime people

Spot the shill
Ubisoft hasn't made a good game in years

>Activision
THPS5
The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct
Duck Dynasty

There is more but you get the idea.

Compile Heart
Gust
Marvelous
idea factory

Fun fact: the former CEO of Cold Stone is now the governor of Arizona.

Oh God...what company makes games with shit controls/good graphics or good controls/shit graphics exclusively these days?

Adult swim games or Devolver Digital

I still like Bill and Ted's Excellent video game Adventure. I don't care what anyone else says. Sure they PUBLISHED a lot of crappy licensed games, but not all of them are bad just because AVGN says so.

>metacritic.com/feature/game-publisher-rankings-for-2016-releases

Its Ubisoft

Ubisoft

>Whoa guys our next game isn't even out but you can preorder our gold edition with the season pass for $100

Thats your opinion

But millions of others disagree, now you won't find millions liking LJN games

Either Ubisoft or EA. I'm going with EA since they publish more shitty licensed games, like the Battlefront/other new star wars, and sports games.

Nintendo

EA

Fuck Cold Stone's pistachio flavor

What games did Atlus make for them?

APPROACHING THE SOUND BARRIER

Off of the top of my head, Friday the 13th and Karate Kid.

Karate Kid, Friday the 13th, both Town and Country games.

Think there's a few more.

Rare made the Nightmare on Elm Street game, which is a legitimately good game.

The majority of people who like Ubisoft games didn't like videogames when LJN was releasing games, so they sorta don't count given there's a good chance they would have liked LJN games at the time. It was only due to memes that LJN was universally panned, but no such memes exist for Ubisoft because too many people have actually played their games and subsequently, liked them.

Oh, they made the Gotcha game, but my bad, only the first Town and Country game.

Ubisoft

A shame, because i'm sure they have good talent there,

Who besides avgn has panned LJN?

Did LJN publish any masterpieces like Ride to Hell

THQ was the LJN but nowadays I'd say Gameloft fills that niche.
Seriously, I tried playing one of those NOVA games the other day and it was such a shameless Halo ripoff. The only people I can see playing those games are children who can't afford xboxes

"I'm afraid it's too late for me"

user pls

t. Ubi exec

>Gearbox has starting publishing
>The first two titles they published, Duke Nukem World Tour and Bulletstorm Remastered, sold abysmally

youtube.com/watch?v=XdeDtiobyNc

I thought THQ games were alright at least, a bit generic and nothing special but they were pleasant enough for all the movie IPs they were making games of.

Naughty Dog

was thq, now i guess its activision

licsenced games arent popular anymore

I would say Telltale they make a bunch of low quality licensed crap, that is an obvious cash grab for uniformed people. Which was basically LJN's model of "success."

ljn doesnt make games you stupid fucking retards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LJN was just a publisher. They didn't really make those shitty games. Hell even Rare were guilty of a few shovelware NES titles released under LJN.

I remember THQ published a bunch of licensed games.

>the guy only wanted to make toys so kids could play out the shit they saw on TV
>only remembered for founding a company of the shittiest NES titles

Didn't Dickhouse make a video game? A Jackass video game?

the only correct answer

I can't for the life of understand why or how Sniper Ghost Warrior did well enough to spawn two sequels.

Such absolute buggy, uninteresting, unpolished shit trash.

It boggles my fucking mind man.

there are no equivalents

>Be a publisher
>Publish already made shit games

This isn't much of a defense nor does it excuse them of responsibility. No one gives EA any slack for the shit they publish but didn't make in house.

LJN was only a publisher. Their real focus was toys. The games they published were developed by no-name companies that shortly died after a release or didn't make past the NES if not the SNES if they were that lucky. Funny enough, the SNES games they published had some polish in comparison.

They also massively fucked up the publishing process in general, doing business with shady key seller sites and blaming the devs for their questionable publishing deals.
I highly doubt that this branch of them will get any work soon after the shitshow that was the Bulletstorm "remaster".
