Rising Storm 2: Vietnam

How come flamethrower in this game feels so satisfying?

Because it oneshots as long as you're in the range.

who /dreg/ squad here?

i made a thing

The flamethrowers are way too situational though.

Who Shotty/SMG engie with C4/WP grenade

the video wasn't really enthralling, but wasn't irritating either.

nice backblast kill/10 would not watch again

Just play pointman mate

Just got this game recently and I fell in love. Seem to shit on people as a sniper, r8 10/8

yeah its hardly the best thing i've made, i just really wanted to share the footage with friends more than anything

thanks for the feedback though

I liked it dude

I was on the fence about the game because of shitposters and not having seen any footage but I'll definitely get it now. Thanks

When are we getting new maps

Isn't the game fairly new?

Like 5 days old or something yes, but it didn't ship with that many maps

>refresh server browser

>server is not full on server browser
>actually is full

>server has ping of 60
>actually has a ping of 105

>no Sup Forums server

Do you guys just play with randoms?

Buy Squad instead. Literally 20$ on Humble Bundle and has actual good gunplay compared to this shit Tripwire cashgrab

It's shit
Buy Squad instead you fucking faggots or I'll shit down your necks

Yeah, the 3 map rotation is stale. But I wouldn't expect that much from a Steam game at this point. I hope they'll give new maps soon

Seems like it. There are some /k/ servers, though.

Buy it for me

mod support and free dlc

I know, which is why I'm not complaining. I have high hopes for the game

Threadly reminder

Well I hope we get a mix of community and official maps soon, games like this live and die on their maps

the 5 maps that are out are very good though

I thought it was only 3 lol, rip

Just had an amazing fight on Cu Chi.

Yeah there's few maps but they're all really good except for point C on Hue (HUEHUE) City.

Is mod support already in the game or will there be an update? When's the earliest we can expect custom maps in?

i feel like all you guys complaining about c dont know about smoke nades or the sewer system

Yeah, point C is impossible if the burgers haven't infiltrated and "captured" the sewers underneath C.

Sewers is like the only way but even then it can easily be camped by hostiles.

Trying to flank C from the North is impossible because there's only 1 way to get in.

Flanking from the south is impossible because you can easily put squad tunnels there and camp the river and shoot anyone who tries to cross.

Going down the middle is just asking to get killed.

This
Like what the fuck, man

steamcommunity.com/games/418460/announcements/detail/1272677720944477966

The first update will be bug fixes. Content is expected to be added every quarter from now till at least end of 2018. The first major content update will be in Q3 (so starting next month)

Commander is only for alpha males

I got rekt on a /k/ server, they absolutely molested me

The SDK is already out.

I've heard mixed things about its intuitiveness, including that it sucks so bad nobody can even use it. On the other, I've also seen people using it just fine.

There's a user made nighttime Da Nang map coming up that looks pretty good.

Hot

That's official content btw (obviously), no idea when the community's going to cook up maps

flamers in sewer together with pointman is all you need. if you are grenadier load some fking smokes in your thumper and launch them directly on c tower not infront you and the enemye but on the enemy so they cant see shit

its literally all you need to do, spam their positions with smokes, which you get from ammo crate on a and in one minute you are on their ass at c

>it's a trying to capture the F and G point on Cu Chi episode

Who the FUCK designed this map?

You can't build light maps at all right now and sometimes when you're using the terrain tool it will just crash so it's pretty fucked

They are fine though. Stop being shit.

Trying to take G is the most painful experience in this game, bar none.

Is it actually? Doesn't feel like it. No routes to flank or anything, it's just a non-tactical meat grinder.

>being shit on a 32v32 team matters anyway

t top scoring lad every game

With arty, napalm and smoke they are both relatively easy. The sheer amount of smoke the US team can put out is overwhelming.
Taking C on Hue is far worse than any point in Cu Chi.

Fuck Hue C! Fuck river crossing bullshit!

But I strongly feel it's kind of the same as the last point of Cu Chi, in design and everything.

I feel like the last point of Cu Chi is always a meat grinder and the Americans usually lose through running out of tickets

>people like you keep whining about running out of tickets
>they increase the amount of US tickets
>it's now just a longer, boring as fuck stall at the last point

G in Chu Chi doesn't offer too much of an elevation advantage and it's a rather narrow point and building. The US has one commander, two radiomen, two grenadiers and I think three pointmen. That's twelve some grenades not accounting for grenadiers sitting on ammo points and abusing their instant resupply.

It's a meatgrinder but it's pretty standard by Red Orchestra standards and a team with a few people leading on comms should be able to overcome it without too much trouble given that they didn't squander their tickets in the previous points.

F on Cu Chi is a piss easy take because you can just deny the enemy commander access to radio completely.

G seems hard until you realise that the rubber factory walls are paper thin and you can just have the MGs spam at the building and kill everyone inside. I've been killed through 2 walls when using the radio in the building. You don't even have to enter the buidling to start capping, too.

Who else /shit/ here?

>walls are paper thin
This applies to most of the game. Almost all weapons will penetrate a lot of surfaces that if coming from the previous games you would not suspect they could.

If you can get the commander to napalm the wall overlooking the south side of the river it's pretty easy to cross there. The problem is you need someone to mark there and then have the TL actually pull the trigger. I always mark that spot when I lead on that map, you can roast a ton of gooks.

If the roundeye get past c it is almost guaranteed that they will win the round
I haven't seen many rounds where they take c and still end up losing somehow

>negative k/d ratio
wew lad

>C4/WP

I feel like they are too generous with the tickets already on some maps
I saw one at like 580 tickets for the attackers, and it only ever goes down to like 200 over a full match
I think what they should do is increase the current ticket count by maybe like 300 and have the remaining tickets carry over to the next round so that tickets actually play a role in whether you will win or lose
It adds that layer of strategy that ro2 had back in where even if you knew you were fighting a losing match, you could bleed the enemy tickets as much as possible and end up winning in the long run
Would be much better than this tie breaker shit they've got going on where if a team has one bad round there is pretty much 0 chance of them making a comeback

>pushing the tunnels to get to C on Hue City
>me and another SL are being mobile spawn points
>push through the gooks to get to where the ammo crate is
>friendly throws a grenade and TKs all the SLs
>lose because we can't get back to point in time

F is almost impossible to defend, they can literally just stand around in that large ass area relatively in cover and there's not much the gook can do about it. The only chance is to defend D, because E suffers from the same issue.

It's about balance. A and B usually fall quickly so C is a good chance for the gooks to buy some time and take out some U.S. tickets.

Literally me

I dunno which one's the Governor's House, but the VC have a good chance to defend there

I find it's extremely easy to keep up a 1+ K/D in this game. A single grenade will GUARANTEE at least one kill per life, unless you just decide to completely to blindly waste it.

t. humble 1.5k/d

If it's the American right flank building after C, that's D.

I'm always the first one in the team to run in to uncharted territory because I'm impatient and dumb. My teammates gladly step over my corpse

Sounds about right. That's probably the hardest place to cap besides C obviously

> building clearing on hue city with flamethrower and you accidently torch your guys along with the charlies
>it ain't me starts playing

Same to be honest, which is probably why my grenades are such a free kill anyway. I'm playing to get those 8 kill chains and just rushing in. ADHD doesn't really help.

If I see a teammate with the flamethrower, I stay the fuck away because I don't trust em with it

Is there only 1 rpg allowed on that map?
The cover penetration on that thing makes it by far the best counter for the flamers and other cqc classes that just outclass everything the gook team has
Whatever it is they should probably allow 1 or 2 more slots, as rpg is actually a very powerful class and putting too many would give them a huge advantage
It's funny too cause I dont see many people making use of the rpg, it's like hidden potential

>Cobra passing by at full speed.
>blast it w/ my RPG.
really tickles my pickle

>tfw it looks fun and I'd love to play it but don't have time

How are claymores supposed to be used on attack? It seems useful only for defence but outside of Supremacy the US never even get to defend.

>I dont see many people making use of the rpg

>mfw after I figured out I could just hit the outside of buildings with it and still wipe out everyone on the inside

>Shoot tail off of cobra with RPG
>Starts spinning extremely fast
>Crashes about 40 seconds later after spinning around faster and faster

I got killed easily afterwards because I couldn't stop laughing

You're always able to defend. If you're at a point where you have to capture two objectives to advance then you can easily defend one while players capture the other.

And I forgot to say, I fucking love claymores and there is nothing cooler than sending 700 steel balls 50 meters away in a 60° arc

Speaking of grenades, am I fucking up or do they just not travel very far? I feel like I could throw further with my dyel tier arms than these marines can.

RPGs are fucking amazing.
>blindfire a rocket down some enemy smoke
>3 kills
>5 minutes later
>our guys getting picked off from the rooftop behind A on Cu Chi
>send a rocket flying
>3 kills
>no more fire from the rooftop for the rest of the match

It's criminal, man.

Left mouse button, hold it down for a sec. I can always get them pretty far.

I don't think anyone can throw a nade as far as these guys do. I'm sometimes getting kills from 80m away.

I think the stats page is bugged, I've definitely lost games on Hue City

Forgot Picture. I've also easily played more then 30 games.

>Hue City
wth is this game about brazil or vietnam after all?

J U S T

I think in ro2 if you if you sprinted while throwing the grenade it would go further
I don't know if it still works that way but I do it out of habit cause it makes sense to me

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huế

I am almost certain that sprinting did increase throw distance in RO2.

Hmm. I'll fuck with it on the target range I suppose, see if I can figure it out.

I want to play right now but my net is too unstable today

>5 maps

heh HUE CITYYYY

coochicoo

>tfw always able to grab the special classes before of my SSD

>Living in a 3rd world country

Its not 3rd world, honest

I think the loss on G from tickets is due to D E. Every time we've stuggled with D and E or B and C and when we get to G its always with a sliver of tickets left. Cu Chi is just an old school RO map and scrubs can't handle that. Also playing gooks and using D's tunnel system to flank and attack GI is fun as fuck.

>literally 3 second loading times
it's fucking weird man, even ro2 had towards 15 seconds of loading

the /k/ servers are such low quality performance wise
>server browser says 59 ping
>join in and i have 180
>start flying huey
>spikes to 220
like what the absolute fuck

>Aus
>not 3rd world
Abbo, pls leave.

>Still no autojoin server when someone leaves feature

How the fuck isn't this standard by now? CS had that shit 10 years ago
