Not trolling here or anything, my reasoning is most, pic included, look the same. The characters all have that generic anime-look and the games themselves play the same. I don't feel that Mario-esque fun and magic.

Both Xenoblade games I played had some of the worst combat I have ever experienced in JRPGs, and I played like over 200 at this point.

I dont like it and unless Xenoblade2 does a big overhaul I wont like that either.

I own both actually. I played X more but I could never get into enjoying either. They do play the same in my mind. Sure, Mario jumps in all his games, but at least they know how to be fun.

Shovel Knight is a genuine good game. It currently has 3 campaigns, and is getting a fourth one for free in the future.

That Xenoblade 2 character looks like almost every new anime that comes out these days.

I kinda miss NES enemy design where things never made any sense and you had to fight random nonsense constantly like mushrooms, turtles, bats, skeletons, bedsheet ghosts, vacuum cleaners, bouncing fruits, wild animals, robots.
They were all so stupid.

I like Xenoblade Chronicles, but the models in 2 don't fit the style, and I hate the main protagonist's look.

Big Mario fan here. I bought XBCX on a whim when it came out and loved it. I'm playing XBC right now but the magic that X gave isn't really there. It's weird because everyone feels the exact opposite about these games. Does the game pick up later on?

How can I continue playing XBCX? I'm 20 hours in, but it's so fucking boring.

And it's likely the combat in X2 will be even a lot better again than in X.

Puyo Puyo Tetris is fun if you're willing to git gud at either Puyo or Tetris.

But the voice acting is pretty bad so I always skipped small side quest cutscenes, also they're almost always go there to defeat monster and come back, or get this item drop and come back.

Sure it's about exploring, but there's nothing to do in these huge maps.

The majority of the songs you actually hear in the game are terrible though.

I'm realistic, not delusional. XCX combat is kinda shitty, but it doesn't deserve your hate that's solely based on lack of knowledge and unintelligence. 99% the RPGs have shit combat, and it's easily better than fucking disgusting turn-based combat that never has any depth and is just wasting your time.

Destroying specific body parts and giving headshots with a sniper rifle is fun as fuck in XCX, so is Overdrive in general.

The truth is only the city OST is meh (not even horrible, just very weird). All the field themes are amazing and very fitting.

It's amazing.

Fighting monsters, doing sidequests, finding secrets, seeing a beautiful world, exploring. That's the point. You even get rewarded for experience for just exploring the world and finding hidden places.

You can't do fucking anything in Souls except fighting the enemies with always the same strategy (exploit your 40 iframes and sometimes shield), and that's just a bunch of dead corridors, yet no one cares.

You also have to "stealth" a lot in XCX if you don't want to get oneshot by everything and take weather conditions into consideration. And we already saw that Xenoblade 2 will be more interactive and even has stuff like mounts and climbing.

I just want a xenoblade with a story as good as the first one and the gameplay/world as good as the second one.
I'm so hyped for Xeno2.
