What did you think about Wolfenstein: The New Order

What did you think about Wolfenstein: The New Order

Decent but not as great as everybody says it is

Still interested in the sequel though

It was way too hyped up for me so my experience led into just giving it an "ok".

it's ok
the soundtrack is great

Yeah as the other two said, it's good but not great.

I enjoyed The Old Blood more than The New Order and I'm looking forward to the next one

It looked like call of dootystien
so I got Return to castle wolfenstien instead and I really like it.

I had the opposite experience, Old Blood was okay but it was just more of the old same Wolfenstein whereas TNO felt a bit fresher. Mostly thanks to to fantastic level design and surprisingly decent writing (especially for a title in this series).

I really enjoyed it but trying to go back after pic related was a chore (I never played The Old Blood so I tried to after finishing DOOM.) The story was surprisingly solid and I found myself caring about the shit situation they were in.

DOOM should stick to the no-or-low cutscene route but I'd like to see a new Wolfenstein with the same kind of narrative but DOOM paced gameplay. The setting is interesting enough that I don't mind slowing down to watch things happen in it compared to DOOM where even two minutes of exposition made my skin itch.

>literally same poses
Come on now bethesda

That's fair, I didn't really care for the modern setting of TNO but loved the village and castle of TOB.

Also TOB had less downtime, which I wasn't reallya fan of it TNO.

maybe doom wasn't for me but I found the game to be very repetative and I hated how in the beginning of the game doom guy smashes the navigation screen "cuz fuck cutscenes XD" but then the game makes you watch 5 min cutscenes later on

I liked it, it was fun. Also enjoyed Old Blood, hope we see a new game from those guys at E3.

>Dude holding a long gun

There aren't a ton of options. It's basically that or one of these two.

As an aside, DOOM gameplay with Wolfenstein's "dual wield anything" mechanic would be stupid fun.

Yeah all those "DOOMGUY SMASH" scripted animations rubbed me the wrong way.

For instance - I get that you don't trust Hayden and the hell energy but why the fuck would you just kick a canister full of the stuff after Hayden specifically said "Be very carefull". For all you know it could have fucking exploded and killed Doomguy.

Just skip all the cutscenes like crazy and you'll be fine.

TNO and DOOM are great games, really enjoyed them.

But they don't even get close to SW2 in terms of action and content.

SW2 is also great. It's sad that people always forget about Serious Sam 3.

>Portrays Nazis as bad
>Their society is great

What did they mean by this.

I thought Hayden didn't want you to smash them because "its expensive bro"

also fuck those teleporting enemies

>you cant play as the good guys

Boilerplate shooter in terms of mechanics but elevated hard as fuck by that Starbreeze/MachineGames "touch".

They somehow take cheesy IP's like Wolfenstein/The Darkness and give them this sort of melancholic weight that is just goddamn amazing imo. I understand that some don't like it but I unironically think they have some of the best writing and presentation in modern video games.

Gordon's OST is spot-on too.

I don't. But it's older than the other 3 itt.
Can't wait for 4. If you can try the VR, it's amazing.

This. I absolutely love what they do with presentation. It's a crime The Darkness never made it to PC.

What other games are there like this and Darkness and Riddick that have that special something narratively?
