more vertical stage design, more platforming
unusual boss arenas, not just square rooms
more aggressive and elaborate bosses
better weapon balance
more weapons affecting the environment

Klinsy

Not like they'll do any of these. I'll play it for the cute characters ayway.

>more vertical stage design, more platforming

Agreed. I liked the improvements the second game made overall, but the stage design and boss fights seemed like a downgrade from the first. DW1 Klinsey gave me more trouble than anyone in 2 besides Stoj.

one thing they should perhaps implement is making the boss enemy hitbox damage your character. Both games have a lot of phases in boss battles where you either move right through enemies or even stand inside their sprite without a care, like first phase of Zizou in DW1. That's some Ice Sign - Icicle Fall -Easy- shit.

That and making it so that boss weaknesses, while having a noticeable effect, don't let you just stunlock them to death.

This influx of threads makes me want to go back and finish the first game

Any tips for dealing with that fucking second phase?

what second phase? Of the blond bitch? Zizou? Which difficulty?

what game?

Legend of Dark Witch

here's an official background for 3DS

Blonde Bitch, IIRC Hard,

I already know about that bug that lets you charge meter to your heart's content with the icicle weapon.

Riva's second phase is pretty easy though. Her health bar ticks down by itself, so you just have to focus on avoiding attacks.
The final boss of the second game is a lot harder.

Papelne looks fat here desu

is it even good
I always thought it was some pandering easy cash grab RPG

I enjoyed both games, which is why I've made several threads over the past two weeks to discuss it. Brave Dungeon and the Switch rhythm game ARE pandering easy cash grabs, but the main games are fun, 2 better than 1 I'd say. Think "Mega Man meets Gradius with cute anime girls".

the art/character design in this game is doing tingly things to my dick

>using the bug
If you can handle lunatic Riva first phase, surviving the second should be a cinch. Just keep killing everything with Ground Impact

>Think "Mega Man meets Gradius with cute anime girls".
How good is the mega man meets gradius part, cause I'm fairly indifferent to anime girls

First game is a bit barebones and suffers from some poor game design, second game fixes a lot of things but has lower difficulty overall, and more linear stages. In general, I'd say they're certainly worth the low price.
I know the two games are out on Steam, so you could probably pirate and try it out if you really wanted to, but they're a fair buy.

2 is good in the Mega Man sense, at least as far as action is concerned. Platforming is poor though.
The action is frantic and fluid. Dashing in particular is fun as all hell since you can start it in mid-air to alter your horizontal speed.
There's lots you can customize and configure, God bless the developers for having the sense and letting you choose between doupletap-dashing and dashing with a button.
The bosses in 2 are weak on normal, I'd recommend starting with Hard right away. At some points the game gets bullet hell crazy.

The gradius element is building an upgrade meter by shooting things, when you get hit you lose some of it or all of it depending on difficulty.

I might do that, I'd probably get them on 3DS if I get em though.
I'll probably give some more videos a look or something

>There's lots you can customize and configure
What is there? I know there's weapon customisation but is there anything more, cause more stuff is always nice
I'll probably go for 1 if I do get it and just keep in mind that 2 is better.
How long are they about? I assume not that long.
Always refresh before you post kids

I don't want to spoil too much, but other than the choice between weapons and typical parameters like health there are special upgrades, like for example giving the time stop ability the function to damage enemies, which is a huge difference. This is exclusive to 2 though, 1 only lets you increase life and damage, except when you beat the game. Then you can unlock among others a speed upgrade that makes you move ridiculously fast.
They are arcade platformer length, like between 10 minutes and an hour depending on your proficiency. The speedrun achievement in both games has a very lenient time window.

Oh, and I forgot: both games let you deflect ANY attack when you press left/right at the exact moment of impact, kind of like in Bunny Must Die. If you're a great player you can just block everything.

So meant for multiple playthroughs, I'd be up for that I reckon. I'm pretty interested, I'll definitly give this a look, probably get it at least at some point I reckon. Does it ever go on sale? Might wait for that if it does, and thanks.

Will Rudymical be available for 3ds anytime soon?

An actual melee weapon option.

>At some points the game gets bullet hell crazy.
Not him, but this is somewhat justified by the fact that the devs used to make Touhou fan-games.
Honestly, that alone explains a lot.

DW2 has one

basically this is a Touhou fan-game

There's literally no reason to ever use Lord Attack except to destroy Kuito's umbrella though. Then again, laser spam was ridiculously overpowered if you invested into upgrading it.

meant this one

Oh yeah, here.
That's one other thing I'd like them to add.
A dedicated block button.
In b4 >but that makes it too easy, fag
The problem with left/right though is that the input doesn't always properly read, especially given that it also applies for movement. So you might walk into something despite having the proper timing for a block you pulled off before.
Now that I actually think about it, I wonder if certain attacks are more susceptible to using left OR right, as opposed to both. I get the feeling that might be the case, or at least, it's easier to use a certain direction when blocking for specific attacks based on their behaviors.
I felt similarly for Capcom's games Knights of the Round and The King of Dragons, which had the same left/right methods for blocking.

>tfw you have the 3DS version and no Riva
For the user who was curious about the game earlier, it's worth mentioning that the Steam version has one extra character the 3DS one doesn't have.

Wait a fucking minute.
Is that Riva in 2?
>playable in the Steam version of the game.
GODDAMNIT

yeah, and she can move faster than Sonic due to having both the fastest dash upgrade and the dash move

>it's worth mentioning that the Steam version has one extra character the 3DS one doesn't have.
God fucking dammit I like playing on my 3DS but that makes me actually have to think about this, and it kinda sucks whichever way I go

So it seems that DW3 is being developed by M2 while Inside Systems is taking a director role this time.

After playing Shinobi for 3DS I must say that no, it doesn't make it easy at all.

>and you can no longer jump to extend the dash
NO
>another good change in my opinion since RM was too powerful in ep.2)
Was it really? I never really upgraded it, but it barely did anything to bosses, and Sola's RM was pretty pathetic.
Overall, these look like good changes, especially the bit about boss battles.

They've outright said she'll be important in the future, she'll probably be the second playable character in 3.

Good taste

When is the third game coming out?

Also, I can't understand the story (or anything really) due to the Google translate text.

>When is the third game coming out?
Some time in 2017.

>Also, I can't understand the story (or anything really) due to the Google translate text.
Some fucknut wants to go to war, Zizou has to get off her goddess ass and beat them up.

wrote the pastebin so his opinion on RM is understandable.

Fuck yeah to both of these things.
