The one thing I would say is required tho is stopping Win 10 from updating because there are a FUCK ton of them and they are the most obnoxious thing in the world.

Vulkan on the other hand was made for PCs and sees continual incremental improvement as new hardware becomes available.
There's also fully open source drivers for Vulkan which is a huge benefit for devs who want to dig in and work out what the drivers are doing.
Those drivers have already gone from proof of concept reference drivers, to fast enough to run some of the Linux-exclusive Vulkan versions out for some games faster than the old OpenGL driver (which is itself faster than AMD's official OpenGL driver).

Most previous enhancements of OGL were just feature rips from DX. Kind of curious as to what the big architecture changes are.
