Is anyone else really hyped for this game? It seems like a really fresh new take on Mario, with brand new, different worlds and new characters. I can't wait to see what Nintendo has to offer with this game.

I'll buy it just because it's Sonic Adventure 3

Yeah, I'm hyped. But then, it's a new Mario game for a new console, so I'm always hyped for that.

that came out in 2006 whether you like it or not

I don't really care yet. I mean I like Mario gameplay in general, but I just don't feel like caring enough to buy a new system just for one. You'd have to really entice me with this game somehow. Otherwise, I have plenty of movies I can watch on PS4.

I wouldn't say "hyped", but I am very interested in the potential of it

It's one of my more anticipated E3 announcement for this year.

I fucking love the fact that game #3 for the nintendo switch will release at the end of the year. Have fun with your dust-collecting machine until then

Nintendo shill

I'm hyped, but not HYPED. I'm very intrigued and excited for what we see during e3, though!

Naw, I have too many PS4 + PC releases to really care about yet another Mario honestly.

It'll be the first open-world game since Mario Sunshine so yes, I'm very hyped.

not hyped but still getting it day one.

>#3
Were counting ARMs?
It's confirmed shit though.

Yeah this game is why I bought a Switch. I didn't anticipate the shortages so I'm glad I got it early. I mean Zelda, MK8, and Splatoon 2 are fun but without a new Animal Crossing on the horizon Odyssey is why I had to buy it.

yeah idk what that other user is talking about, odyssey is the switch's first game

Expect it's been done twice before.

I haven't bought a Switch. I'm hoping Nintendo announces Smash, Animal Crossing, Pikmin 4, and maybe another new IP for the Switch at E3.

I'm so fucking hyped, I've been wanting another Mario game like 64/Sunshine for so long now. Also the movement in this looks so much better than Galaxy, I highly doubt it'll be as good as 64 or Sunshine in the movement territory but it looks like it'll be a lot of fun still especially with that roll ability. I'm so glad the areas & enemies aren't generic, I was getting so sick of that shit.

how can you tell when so little of the game is known?

what makes you say ARMS is shit?
also it's a stretch to call Splatoon 2 a rehash

Yeah, I'm actually excited since the first time since Sunshine.

Yeah the galaxy games were good but they didn't quite click with me.
This Mario looks fucking weird and I love everything about it.

I'm really glad they're trying out different settings, because always setting Mario games in the Mushroom Kingdom gets repetitive and boring. I feel like the tossing Mario's hat move has a lot of potential for new techniques.

Mario is for little kids, so no, not really.

Every sequel done by Nintendo is a rehash, didn't you know? Only sequels done by other companies are completely different in every way possible.

I kind of wonder if the hat mechanic is a nod to Super Mario 64. What with the various caps in that game.

As long as it's not Sunshine tier then I'm sure it'll be great.

Splatoon 2 is a rehash though...everything is different, but it's a rehash.

Since there were hat shops in the game trailer, I'm thinking you can upgrade Mario's hat for new abilities and stuff. Although I wonder if the hat with eyes will be something similar to Link and Ezlo from The Minish Cap.

that was a reboot dumb fck

making something better than sunshine is really not that difficult
Just dont copy paste mission objectives and delet blue coins

Nigga what the fuck is wrong with Sunshine?

>Fewer areas than 64
>Can't do missions in a nonlinear fashion like in 64
>Twenty shines locked behind Blue Coins
>More Red Coin missions than 64
>Three El Pianissimo missions
>Seven Shadow Mario missions
>Gelato-8
>Ricco-8
>Pinna-8
What the isn't wrong with Sunshine?

Not buying a switch until we get something that'll force me to, like a new AC, Pokemon, or Donkey Kong Country, but if one of those comes out this'll be like the second game I pick up. Looks pretty good, just not like a system seller i m o.

Mario 64 handled ideas for OoT, now BoTW hands down ideas for SMO

The blue coins and Ricco 8 are about the only infuriating aspect of Sunshine. Pianissimo sucked but he wasn't that hard.

huh, I never thought about it that way but you're right - both pairs of games have been developed in parallel and both are highly anticipated releases meant to revitalize their franchises.

Are we going to get a release date at E3, or is Nintendo going to delay it to 2018?

...

It's supposedly complete, they wouldn't dare delay it. We'll get gameplay for most of the treehouse and maybe a release date.

>another sandbox Mario after years of 3D linear ones
Who isn't excited? If it wasn't for Persona 5 this would be my GOTY.

I actually thought that one was kind of fun. I used the hover nozzle to walk on the sides if I fucked up on the lily pad, made for an interesting challenge in my opinion.

For me the frustrating part was actually trying to get to the damn thing. Having to ride a yoshi on a boat for like 5 minutes only to have him disappear in the water is enough to make a man go mad.

>It's supposedly complete
Source?

>>Can't do missions in a nonlinear fashion like in 64
I'm torn about this one, on one hand you lose freedom to do whatever you want but on the other it lets you see the level progressively get better & better due to your good-doings. It's really nice to see Pianta Village having inferno-goo everywhere one stage & then after you beat Shadow Mario the final shine sprite is when everyone is happy & all goo is gone.

I wonder how they will introduce Rosalina in SMO's timeline

>Development on Super Mario Odyssey is considerably finished, so producer Yoshiaki Koizumi wants people to get their hands on it.

Not him but I swear there was a better statement out there that mentioned they were pretty much done but they just wanted to polish it. Whatever, this is the closest you're going to get I think.

>Having to ride a yoshi on a boat for like 5 minutes
Huh?

This reminds me of when Miyamoto said that Pikmin 4 was close to completion. I wished they released it for the Wii U, but they are probably putting their big launches on the Switch.

Pikmin seems to always get pushed in development like that, it's a shame too since I would keep buying that series even if it was milked. I'm pretty sure we'll see 4 on the Switch soon enough though so I'm not worried.

I don't understand this comparison at all. Is it solely because there's a city level?

It kinda startles me how Nintendo never oficially localized that particular graph and only used it for that one presentation video back in january.

People keep saying it due to it being a city level and since the humans look realistic like Sonic '06 did. Personally to me it feels like a forced stretch to me since the gameplay & focus is clearly different and I highly doubt New Donk City is even a hub world.

At least someone out there translated it. You would think Nintendo would've made it clear to Americans there's a difference though.

Pikmin 4, along with Mario, Zelda, and Smash would sell me for the Switch. Although I hope the 3DS Pikmin game will be decent.

>Replying seriously to a painfully tired meme

It looked like someone was genuinely asking that time.

>WOW A MARIO GAME
>AND HIS HAT IS NOW A GAME MECHANIC
>ECKS DEE LE HYPE I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS GENERIC REHASH WITH ONE SMALL DETAIL THAT'S DIFFERENT SO I CAN PRETEND IT'S A "FRESH TAKE"
