I've been a PCfag pretty much all my life but since all of my friends have been getting one recently I'm struggling with the thought of buying one. Am I falling for a meme or should I actually go for it. If yes, should I go for a normal ps4 or the pro version?

>PC gaming
You already fell for the meme.

I've been pretty happy with it and I still am though.

I like mine quite a bit but then I also loved the PS3. Say what you want about Sony but they do make a genuine effort with worthwhile exclusives. As microsoft does not, and multiplats run far better on PC (and even PS4) then there is legitimately no reason to own any other console this gen except maybe the Switch once it has more than one game.

As for the version I have never played the pro and I have no intention on upgrading. After replacing the hdd with something not completely bullshit I have no complaints with the OG fat model. Don't own a 4k or hdr tv anyway. If you do though it's up to you if you think that moderately improved (and one some games worse) performance is worth the extra dosh. Personally I would say no.

You get a console for exclusives and higher player bases in certain games

Do not buy one until the PS5 comes out or it drops to $150 new

Like which games for example? I'm not that really into games like Call of Duty, if that's the games you are talking about.

I have a 4K TV so I guess I should go for the pro version then huh.

OP see if you can find some retard to sell you the fat cheap on craigslist or something now that the Pro is out. And skip the slim entirely because it's ugly as fuck and they decided to package it with an even more obnoxious controller.

>now with even worse battery life and double the distracting, unnecessary lights!

>have a 4K TV so I guess I should go for the pro version then huh.
Not necessarily. Quite a few of the games actually run worse on it believe it or not. And desu you're going to get a lot more out of the hdr than their shitty meme 4k upscaling. Does your tv have hdr?

PS4 vanila is the go-to
Pro is a meme

Why is everything a meme for you dumbfucks? Does it have games you want to play? If so then yes, buy one. If not then don't. It's that simple.

Yes it does.

Is it though? I was hoping for some good sales during E3.

>Like which games for example?
Nioh
Bloodborne and its inevitable sequel as never ever, etc.
Horizon Zero Dawn
MLB the show if you like this one particular non-shit sports game franchise
Gravity Rush 2

All are fun. Hell even the Uncharted games are well worth how insanely cheap they are now. I was in FUCKING GAMESTOP today and you could get all four of them for like 35 bucks combined. They're worth that. There are a lot of promising exclusives that seem to be coming to.

Fair enough. Seems like a good deal.

>>PC gaming
>You already fell for the meme.

PC don't fall for memes, we make the memes

Consoles have their moments, and if you HAVE to have one, my vote goes to the PS4. After the shit M$ tried to pull on their customers with the Xbone, I don't think I have to justify this choice at all.

Get the regular one, the pro has had a lot of problems and many games perform worse, and most of those games are the ones worth buying a PS4 for those games

If you've been playing on PC you're going to notice just how poorly games run on it.

The sad thing is even if you completely overlook at the shit M$ tried to pull, or somehow had your head under a rock when shit was hitting the fan, there is still absolutely zero reason to buy one. Between M$ canceling almost all their exclusive titles, throwing better versions of the ones that aren't canceled on PC, and being the worse multiplat machine, Xbone has no justifiable reason to exist. I think if it was a person it would commit suicide in shame.

Considering circumstance this gen, I think everybody will be getting one eventually. I'm mainly PC but I might need to get a cheap second hand one eventually.

Go for it. Go with the regular one. Get it second hand, no money for Sony. :)

To be honest, I haven't cared enough recently to be on top with my Sony hate game.

I am aware that games will probably run worse, that's why I asked if I should get a PS4 pro because I thought it would make games run at 60 fps. But according to most answers here, the pro version actually runs worse in most games, so I guess I'm just gonna go with the normal one now and have a few more bucks for games.

>[word salad]

Stop talking please.

I'm an idort and 30 fps unironically doesn't bother me. Maybe it's because I'm an old fuck but even ps3 and 360 still look great to me and I still play them all the time.

>begging for reddit spacing
You have to go back.

I got one last week for exclusives and I mainly game on my PC

it's awesome, been playing ratchet and uncharted 4. honestly no PC games come close to the graphical fidelity.

My personal tipping-point for a console purchase is there have to be at least three "big" (typically high profile studio titles) games on it that I know I want to play. If yes, then I usually find it worthwhile... typically I'll find at least another 2 or 3 big titles and half a dozen short and/or indy games I want to play through over the lifetime of the console. That's enough value / money to justify the purchase.

>>begging for reddit spacing
>You have to go back.

You first, scrub.

But thosde are shitty games.

Anyway I already told you my opinion but I forgot to add: wait till E3 this year to see what's coming and what to expect. Maybe it will help you make a decision.

dude e3 is in like 5 days, chill the fuck out and wait to see what happens there and then make a decision

>it's awesome, been playing ratchet and uncharted 4. honestly no PC games come close to the graphical fidelity.

Why you lyin doe?

How is Ratchet and Clank? Never played a game in the series.

Play the HD collection and give up after that.

So what games do you like? That's the most important thing when buying a PS4.

Do you have a 4K TV or monitor? If not, stay away from at the moment. Too many titles choose to up the resolution then to actually improve the framerate. There are some games that do benefit from either the Pro support or the boost mode, but they are few and far between.

I've had one since it launched and while it is nice to have, not a lot has taken advantage of it. Wait until E3 and see if Sony has anything planned with it.

Yeah, I guess you are right. I'm already on the verge of buying one anyway, but thanks for the additional opinions.

>I think everybody will be getting one eventually.
Mayyybe. Remains to be seen if the price drops enough. I've had an xbone since fairly early, and there just aren't that many PS exclusives I care about that much. It's a possible purchase, but there's not much urgency there. The next gen may come around first.

all PC has is high resolution. there is not a single PC exclusive that matches uncharted 4. maybe kingdom come deliverance but that is not even released.

it's pretty fun, good pacing, cool weapons, interesting stages and goofy humor.

Mostly RPGs FPS and Third person shooters. I played some RTS here and there though. I'm generally a big retro fan too, but the PC can be there for that, while the PS4 would be for newer titles.

Yes I have one.

>all PC has is high resolution. there is not a single PC exclusive that matches uncharted 4.

...and it all boils down to who has the most obnoxiously garish graphics, RIGHT?

Get the fuck outta here, spambot.

It's a fucking piece of plastic you dumb nigger. What is there to fall for? You have to know what you want to do with it and if it's worth your money. Be a fucking responsible human being and decide for yourself instead of asking such shitty questions.

If you like RPGs, PS4 has Persona 5, which is the best JRPG in recent memory. It also has Bloodborne and Nioh, two excellent ARPGs. Bloodborne and Persona 5 provided me with over 400 and 130 hours of gameplay respectively.

mom says to come down, its dinner time

>spambot
kek

never said it boiled down to graphics. I see PS4 as an extra addition to my PC. doesn't change the fact that when it comes to graphics there is no PC game that can match uncharted 4.
deal with it

Get your priorities straight

That's rich coming from someone who asks strangers on the internet how to spend your own fucking money.

They are already selling new one + an extra controller for 250 regularly. If you sell the second controller do the math. Even then second hand is like 200 or 150 in some cases.

I don't know how low there is to go. 100? PS3's are still a 100 second hand, but I would be surprised if it dropped further. The only reason I haven't got one yet is because the Slim is ugly as fuck. I'm waiting to see if there is a third revision that looks better.

man the internet really knows how to take shit to high levels of overkill

>never said it boiled down to graphics.

Yes you did.

>That's rich coming from someone who asks strangers on the internet how to spend your own fucking money.

Didn't ask for shit from you, scrub.

you reek of newfaggotry
you're either a neet posting these pics of lolis you saved on your computer or an underage retard.

Quit projecting, scrub, you're fooling no-one.

>motion-blur filled 30 fps game
>no PC games come close to the graphical fidelity

what

>but since all of my friends have been getting one recently

I wish I had friends playing vidya. Made some good online friends over the years but it's not the same.

It's nice but it's not much nowadays anymore. We are happy, if we can pull a few hours after work together.

Pro benefits are game specific. Depending on how much work the devs want to put into a game it can reach from more fps to better graphics, usually nobody fucking bothers though. For example I think the surge is the only game that's 30 fps on base PS4 and 60 on PS4 pro. Usually it's higher resolution, for example nier and tekken 7 run at 900p on the base PS4 and 1080p on the pro with some extra graphic details turned on. I think digital foundry said that the CPU is the bottleneck of the pro and therefore it's unlikely that they targeted higher framerates and instead wanted higher resolution for games. Horizon zero dawn has some wierd abomination of upscaling to reach 4k or something.

If there's exclusives you want go for it. Otherwise don't bother, if you have a good gaming PC the only reason to own a console is for exclusives.

Just got it for Wipeout and it's worth it imo

Might have to try out other games to so I can justify getting one.

I will definitely try bloodborne and nioh if I get one since I am already a fan of the souls series. Thought about Final Fantasy 15 since I loved the older ones like 6,7 and 9. Didn't play the new installments. Are they any good?

Does it have games you want to play that aren't on PC?

I pretty much play everything on my PS4 that isn't an FPS. I got tired of the early access Steam bullshit, so now I play all the weeb and AAA bullshit. I can even play FFXIV on console

I'd just get a normal ps4.
Get Bloodborne, Nioh, Future Tone, and Persona 5.

>going from PC to console

Do it, you'll regret it so hard you'll never look at a console again.

I guess I will have to find out.

> being poor

I think anybody that owns a ps4 on this board has at least a gtx1060

I prefer ps4 graphics, pc aaa is mostly casual garbage like TWitcher 3 or some generic trash nobody with taste should play.

>> poor
>[3D card pimp]
>casual garbage like TWitcher 3

Please shut up, scrub.

...

Why do people need platforms to define them? I love my PS4 because it has games, if it didn't have games Playstation would be worthless to me. WHy do people need to self-insert their preffered platform first and then think about games later? Fuck PC PS and Nintendo all together, if it doesn't have games it's not worth having a preference for.

XV is average if you go in with absolutely no expectations. Most people here will say its complete dogshit since it was hyped to hell and back. There are better RPGs available imo

its a 7.5/10 game from an objective standpoint. Certainly worth playing but not excellent either.

Games are funner with friends
t. PCunt.

Please, if you read any post let it be mine
Sony is completely fucking anyone who owns any Playstation console
>PS4 is not worth it
>Support is shit
>You play what they feed you
> PS4 doesnt remake games for their newer systems
>As soon as the next Playstation comes out the last one instantly becomes obsolete
>Developers constantly have to fight with Sony
>They royally fucked up mods
Its not worth it. Just be happy with your PC

>Games are funner with friends
>t. PCunt.

I'd like to see you fit all my friends in your living room, scrub.

I have a table you could put your laptop on if thats what you mean.

PC isnt a company

You're ALMOST there...

Just get the Pro. Most games that support it run between 1080p and 1800p. Better than that 900p shit were getting with all new releases now like Tekken 7.

Alright man I'll think about it.

damn you're a sad pathetic fuck you cuntfaced loser.

Your pretty generous, I'd give XV a 5/10 for being a boring incomplete game with a good battle system and nothing else.
