It was shit and I say that as someone who vastly enjoyed other Obsidian games. It was like someone very stupid tried to emulate Baldur's Gate.

It would be good if they made it so there weren't set classes and have it like Skyrim and turned based gameplay. That way it can be on consoles.

My only complaint is that the game rewards you with too much xp for completing quests and it's really easy to become completely OP early on.

I don't think companions need to be bisexual but the protag should always be pansexual, romance elements are the essence of pandering so it might as well extend to everyone.

There's definitely gonna be at least one gay romance, but I trust Sawyer to not turn the game into a SJW fest. I think he succeeded at balancing the act out in games like New Vegas and Pillars of Eternity.

My first rpg on pc eas pool of radiance, i have played dozens since and not finished a single one (i am serious). Should i buy Pillars on gog sale now? Is the xpac worth it for someone that puts roughly 50-100 (autistic completitionist til burnout midway) hours into a game?

The game is pretty great and I recommend it. If you're gonna have the burnout midway, then you don't need to buy the expansion yet. Play the game and if you finish Act 2 and still want to play more, get the expansion and get to it before you go to Act 3.

It's funny that people complain that you don't get XP from some mobs. It was clearly designed that way because if they gave you XP for the amount of trash mobs they had, you'd be level 16 before you were halfway through.

I like it but have a hard time comparing it to other RPGs I like like Pillars and Dragonfall, since they are such different types of games. Underrail is more a dungeon crawler.

Underrail is no more a dungeon crawler than Pillars of Eternity though.

It's okay. Plotwise has the same defect as Baldur's Gate 2 --you know exactly when and how your enemy is going to bone you, but your character is apparently too stupid to take preventive measures--, but apart from that it's worth a go.
