>playing tournament
>some dude on a mic tells me to win my next match so that he won't have to fight that Jin dude again
>sees that I'm playing Devil Jin
>"Nevermind, I hate Devil Jin more."

:(

poor art

Nobody is really clicking me and ive messed around with half the cast.

How is Jack?

Is this your first time playing Tekken?

If So, ignore everybody else and respond directly to these inquiries:

What platform are you playing it on? (control method and/or controller matters)

What other fighting game franchises are you familiar with playing/have moves memorized from and can perform with consistency regardless of how many years have passed?

What sort of "visual things" in a fight strike your fancy? (tv show, real life street fight/boxing/wrestling match/movie/martial arts kung fu stuff/anime spectacle/weapons/arrogant or cocky showmanship/style/powerr/etc...)

Is Yoshi good in T7? Is NSS and KIN 1+2 good now?

Is ps4 ranked fixed yet?

Patch coming this weekend

.tv/IncredulousPolishedSushiHoneyBadger

how is this balanced?

top tier

Going to finally order this for ps4 since amazon has it back in stock. Planning on maining the Chinese girl.

Is this ok as a basic combo to push someone into the wall after a launch? I'm new into tekken so I'm not looking into pulling something fancy but practical.

They seriously need to fix the input lag in this shit for the PS4 version, like holy shit what happened?

god damn across all of the fighting games even weeb shit like blazblue and babyshit like smash, tekken is absolutely the jankiest, ugliest and most boring god damned fighting game currently.

i have no idea why its so popular other than children can just mash their face against the buttons and corner-carry and juggle dudes for half of their health. absolute casual trash.

Xiaoyu is S+ tier in this game

Nice bait mate

>Sometimes getting hit in the waist is a mid
>Sometimes its a low
WHAT THE FUCK.

I'm absolutely in love with Kazuya. His kit seems so simple yet effective. Tons of good moves and good and easy to execute punishes.

>EWGF
>EWGF and wavedashing on the other player side

That's the art of the japanese version

>going through yoshis movelist for the 5th time
>still end up forgetting half of his attack when I'm done

if you're new you don't need to remember a character's full movelist, just learn some different moves that you can use in different situations, and a combo for when you launch the opponent

>playing tournament
>host loses and leaves

HOW DO I KBD WITH PAD

Not new, I just want to know his entire movelist

Any Gigas-bois here?
I know I will never win pro tournaments with him but he's great for people who cannot into juggles.
Launcher into Air Grab nets around 70 damage.
He's scratching my Armored King itch with launch-oriented combat style and lots of possibilities to regain space.

Tip for new Gigabois fighting against rush characters online:
> learn to block low attacks and counter basic grabs. Important for everyone but for Gigas it is necessary.
> use D+12 and D+34 to break through the rushes. Both provide you with excellent armor and allow you to break trough.
> Use F+12 as a counter. It is fast and has counterhit charge.
> Gigas' normal punches have decent speed and long range.

>Mishima
>Easy to execute

on keyboard it is

My friend that's new to Tekken plays him and yeah he has ez ass damage... kind of annoying honestly.

>trying to korean backdash
>on a xbone pad
>looking for a knife to kill myself
>try it out with the keyboard with a hitbox layout
>turns into easy mode

Maining my waifu and the best anime girl! Lucky Chloe! also im a girl gamer AND a lebian! Thats why i have waifu! Ha-ha yes im actually exist!

Paul can do that too without any meter.

>PS4
>MK
>Fighting, anime

whats the theory behind the button setup

like why is the 'up' key below the left down right keys

So your fingers rest on every direction button.
Imagine if you wanted to do a 360 motion.

Do you do normal KBD or SOCD KBD?

Grinding treasure mode with him atm

ah so thumb on 'up' right?

HAAAAAIIII! RACKY CHUROE DAIYO!

Anyone who's been exposed to more technical, more dynamic fighting games will quickly pass on tekken. Other top fighters, namely Street Fighter, KoF and MK/Injustice have advanced impressively in their latest installments; but the relic that is tekken just can't seem to evolve, furthermore many combos can be done simply by hitting 1-button, and the nearly "instant-kill" rage art moves are just laughably broken. Instead of a supplying a proper fighting engine, matches in T7 seem to rely heavily on "who can get their rage move off first". So many elements of the gameplay don't even require any sort of skill. In my book, slow motion over and over again also gets old very quickly. And in the end, it's more of a novelty or gimmick rather than an actual, thought-out fighting game mechanic. But hey, the casual crowd will be pleased!

If you want something a little more "button-masher-friendly," tekken might be your cup of tea.... Key word, might.

Is this pasta based on Smash Bros?

Will I be looked down upon for playing Paul? That 60 damage punch seems OP

>fighting Kazumi in the story mode
>she blinks in and out like an old 2d double Dragon character that got hurt after I start an air juggle and phases through my hits to start combining me into the fucking wall
This is a glitch, right? No sane developer would break one of the basic mechanics of the game just to give me a hard time, right?

Nah play whoever the fuck you want

Is this the first time you ever fought a boss in a fighting game?

Miguel

>60 dmg
Yep, getting that starter online is a whole 'nother story though. I recommend finding a solid low that you can juggle from

Nah the devs made the final boss/special match fights broken as shit especially with Kazumi, she whif punishes you to hell and back you had no idea what just happened.
Tekken boss fights are usually not that hard, the problem here is that they use bullshit tactics, as in worse than Gill from 3rd Strike.

>she pretends to be kawaii
>actually a little bitch
Made me like her even more

No, I've done plenty of fighting game bossfights, I've just never had a bossfight against a character that LITERALLY breaks the rules of the game to fuck me over. The Shin Akuma fight is obviously worse just by looking at it, but even then he's just spamming that teleport move at an insane degree, not giving himself iframes in the middle of an air juggle just to punish me.

>Tekken boss
>not hard
>implying Kazumi is even hard

Have you played SNK games? Those were bullshit, for me at least.

Is this the first time you ever fought a final boss in a fighting game?

Azazel is the most bullshit Tekken boss

My dude he is juggle city

How the fuck do I get good with pic related?! I really like the boxing style, but I get rekt in online almost 95% of the time. Any tips for a beginner?

Spam mid/low mixups and never lose

What fucking input lag? I've been playing Tekken all my life and been playing TTT2 to prepare myself for Tekken 7 and now i'm spent hours playing T7 and I noticed fucking nothing. Is your brain already preparing you to use "input lag" as excuse for getting your ass beat? Fuck off outta here, shitter.

Haven't played him since 5. I should probably try him again.

youtube.com/watch?v=nLmsVBgZiak
youtube.com/watch?v=aCBRMchNXXg
>yfw same guy

>as in worse than Gill from 3rd Strike
delet this shit right now

Master counter hits and dodging the opponent's moves with 3,4 and b+3. Also, keep in mind you can cancel 1,2,1 into ANY (including f+3) of your stances for some cheeky mixups. One of my favorites, if the opponent is blocking everything, is 1,2,1>PAB 1+2(grab) works every time and looks cool as fuck

Ps4 actually does have more input lag compared to xb1.

PC mustard race

One of my more hilarious faps.

>tfw learned chloe to poss off flatmate because he cant low block
>end up actually enjoyimg the movelist
>genuinely find her cute
>make punk/goth costume and now she is mai waifu

Send fucking help
At least i play paul and heihachi so i dont feel like a total faggot

Not a problem for me at all since I can still whiff punish, juggle, and crush consistently and easily. So I don't understand this input lag complaint. Fucking SFV and its bullshit.

I'm going to talk about anxiety and the need of an in-game tutorial in Tekken 7. Being new to the game and to the genre in general I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels very anxious when going into an online match. Once I'm in a match I can barely remember my combos or some of my moves and I find myself unable to defend against an opponent who's being aggressive or unable to find an opening against an opponent who's being defensive. I'm messing up my moves and I lack fundamentals. This is something the game doesn't teach me. It doesn't teach me fundamentals nor does it teach me moves. In the tutorial I can learn moves but not fundamentals unless I'm really gosu and actually record the AI playing against me. But most new players me included aren't gonna bother with that. I've spent days in training mode but I still can't win or do much right when I go online. Why is this? Because training mode doesn't teach you how to play the game. This is why a tutorial is much needed. A tutorial mode that gives you simple exercises like 'Heihachi is going to run up to you and use this move. Block it and punish with this move. Do this 5 times to move on to the next level.' It doesn't have to be harder than that. That's all you need. And before going into online everyone should have to do this tutorial. So everyone can know the very basics of the game. And then there should be an advanced tutorial that covers more advanced concepts like all options when on the ground. Meanwhile the basic tutorial only covers 1 or 2 get up options. To keep it simple yet give players a solid foundation.

i mean i was like "this guy's voice awfully sound familiar but i can't put my finger on it"
then i realized that he was the guy who made the greatest dub ever
youtube.com/watch?v=VXiavai0ZLU
think Harada hired him personally for this?

I'll try this, thanks!

I have yet to find a Chloe that doesn't spam db+4 every match.

Kazumi isn't hard she's just straight up bullshit.
Get the game on the PS4 and you will know what I mean, also go the Tekken Zaibatsu forums and plenty of other people are having this issue, it's already a known fact that Tekken 7 on the PS4 has input lag compared to the PC version even the Xbone version doesn't have this problem, dip.

It still wont help you not get anxious when playing against an opponent. You might learn the fundamentals true enough, but as you said yourself, you can "barely remember your combos". What does it help to be taught, if your brain just shuts down when you get into a match. You need to get over the mental block before you actually can apply those fundamentals. And a tutorial cannot teach you that.

Any complaints from longtime tekken players?
How valid are this guy's complaints?

>bullshit
Why, because she has special rules applied to her?

>pretty mediocre at fighting games
>finally get juggles down
>she keeps flashing away and diving me

Holy fuck I just want better treasure

Story mode has different attributes to her and other bosses making them harder to kill. Only good thing is they are a bit more predictable

Which is a shame cause she has a really neat moveset

Eh, I can understand why people are annoyed but this is like a long time problem with Sony consoles and fighting games.

Pretty sure they fixed it for SFV so they can probably put out a fix for Tekken.

I have it on PS4 numbnuts, stay shit.

The idea is you do the tutorial and then jump straight into online so you can get used to playing under pressure. But since there is no tutorial a lot of people get baited into spending way too much time in tutorial mode, essentiall wasting their time because they're not actually learning how to play the game

Sounds like he doesn't know what he's talking about.

Well he's not wrong about Denuvo or no crossplay

I agree that Tekken could use a tutorial covering basics like sidewalking, wake up options, breaking throws or low parry.
But stuff like combos, dealing with pressure is something you learn on your own.

For example, I didn't know how to deal with Lili's b+3+4,3,4 shit aside from blocking everything. I went to practice mode, set the AI to do this thing and I started testing stuff.
I learned that I could jab her after the first hit, but not sidestep.

Yeah no shit, same as every othe Tekken game
>What? Why can Azazel armor through my pokes on his armoured shins?

>game is deep as fuck
>only homogenized element is movement
>input lag is 7-8 frames on PS4, 6 on Xbox, not sure PC but input lag is actually BUILT IN to the netcode for poor connections - you can actually set the input lag severity in practice mode to try it.
>Complete rehash is not an argument for fighting games also he complains about new mechanics so wut
>worst cast is subjective, most mainstays are here
>dumbed down throw mechanic only applies to generic grabs, command throws are as they used to be
>rolling on the ground does not get you launched
>newcomers ARE NOT reskinned old characters
>not sure about ultrawidescreen support
>Denuvo is real
>what one button infinite? Devil Jin launcher beam that will probably be patched?

Not only that but she insanely reactionary to every move I do it's not even funny, you have no idea how much I dread fighting her in Treasure mode.
Now you are just being full of shit, search it yourself and you will see for your self, in fact I think Digitalfoundry did a video on this issue.

You can parry it easily so I have no problems against it

Tutorials were always the worst part of Tekken games. The most you get is a possible tip on loading screen. The game won't tell you about 600000 ways to get up, about justframes, neither it will tell you on chickens and throwbreaks. That's just the way it is. Not to mention that it's a fucking Early 2017 and we still don't have complete framedata of this game. Thankfully we have tekkenzaibatsu and youtube now.

>button reading
Yes, its a fighting game boss
Stop being a pussy, they're explotable as fuck

Finally learned to input Rolling Death Cradle properly. Got a (creepy) jaguar mask the game actually lets me recolor. Also, folding chairs!
Having a pretty good time.

The rolling punish is probably the only legit complaint in that whole post. though I have xbox version so i cant speak on how jacked the ps4 version is.

Most of the complaints seem like buisness as usual for tekken, especially
>"newcomers" being reskined old cast
Forrest, christie, panda, etc

Forgot:

>Waaah I lost to an easily telegraphed super that you can block or sidestep unless you're button mashing

>Leo

Last Tekken game I played was Tekken 5

Should I get 7?
Any significant changes since 5?

I understand where you're coming from, but a tutorial will teach you nothing. the only thing that works is grinding against human opponents.

Eliza has an infinite with her air qcb+4 and Nina has an infinite against Kuma on a specific stage iirc. It's not really all that bad though

Yes and yes. Depends on if you like Tekken games ofcourse.

Whose fucking idea was to make Chloe's super a low?

>fighting a brawler rank for the first time on PC
>notice he has all wins and no losses on his statistics
>22 something wins
>mfw he goes fucking ham
>go ham back
>i was his first loss

Feels good.

Just don't get caught by it again
