Well memed, friendo!
Civilization 4
Starcraft
Counter-Strike
Quake 1,2,3
Most games in the strategy, RPG or adventure genre
Literally just beat this for the first time like 20 minutes ago. Great game.
Yes only because it's basically a puzzle game
No, that game aged like a white woman
Yes
All of those suck though
this.
Crysis is 10 years old in November.
Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy
Unreal Tournament 2004
Roadkill
Amplitude (original)
Obscure I & II
Crash Team Racing
Klonoa I & II
Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance
Silent Bomber
>Hard mode: The game must be atleast 10 years old
How about a real hard mode?
The game doesn't just hold up because of the story/writing.
Time Crisis 4
...
Half Life 2
Super Meat Boy
I just played Thief 1 for the first time and I will play Thief 2 now. So much fun
No, I didn't like this one.
...
>Crysis is 10 years old in November
>My PC is still barely able to run it
My life was a mistake.
...
Quake 3 Arena
Starcraft
Wario Land for GB
Legend of Zelda, Oracle of Seasons
Monkey Island
Mario Kart
Baldur's Gate
Half-Life
Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion
Street Fighter 2
SMW
Pokemon Blue, Crystal
Halo CE
I could go on
Half life aged like shit.
Quake 2 does not hold up at all. It's completely dull and unengaging, it doesn't have memorable encounters or creative architecture like Quake 1.
Small levels with infinitely spawning enemies and meandering objectives kills the game. Awkwardly abrupt cutscenes, a literal "nothing personnel" ninja character, and weak humor don't help. The first NOLF holds up better.
I disagree
You should check out Freeman's Mind on youtube if you like that sort of thing.
Half-Life and HL 2 i think aged very well
It's and old game but i think you can genuinely enjoy it without ever thinking "well it was good for its time"
Diablo 2
...
Shadow of the Colossus
Ooh also very much this.
...
I play Quake 2 every week and it has way more players than Quakeworld suck my cock kid.
Playing Quake for the multiplayer is like eating soup because you like the spoon.
How does it hold up at all? It's literally painful to stare at it.
It's almost 10 years old.
...
I have never seen a more retarded food analogy.
>Hard mode: The game must be atleast 10 years old
You got me OP, I'm a bit triggered.
Red Faction
Once a good game, always a good game
I honestly believe this game holds up due to the sheer brilliant plot, JC's sassiness and the amazing level design.
...
Blood
This series is damn near timeless. Bitchin' music as well. And the last one is turning 10 in 6 months, so nearly all of them count.
Quake was all about multiplayer and modding
The old GameBoy Advance Fire Emblem games are timeless.
The sprites look so much better than the new shit they have on 3DS, even if they have built onto the combat systems in the new games.
...
What's up with the fags disagreeing with
Is this neo-Sup Forums?
It's probably because it's buggy which doesn't make any sense because it was always buggy
It's not a very good game pfam.
and Halo 3
>mfw I got Shadow Dragon for DS expecting sprites like the GBA games on a slightly higher resolution.
I hope the one who thought replacing the beautiful sprites with those pseudo 3d models was a good idea got fired
Give it a year and few more months, Fallout 3™ will be the one. Also buy my new space game.
Atomic Bomberman
FUCK YEAR BEST LAN GAME OF ALL TIME
Super Metroid
Still mechanically one of the best games to play.
Have you played the Death Wish level pack? I usually don't give a shit about level packs, but they are so high quality that they are better than the base levels for a good 90% of them, and really show off what Blood was capable of without losing the atmosphere of what made so many Blood stages so great in the first place.
I seem to shill this mod a lot, but I don't ever see anyone talk about it and it really just feels like the closest thing to an actual sequel to Blood we'll see.
This
Ha, it's funny you bring that up. I actually just finished replaying through it a few hours ago. So many great levels and ideas in it and all done with just the vanilla assets too! Also, there's an update coming out in October and Bloatoid is adding two new levels so I'll probably end up playing it again then. There's actually a surprising amount of good user maps and episodes for Blood considering it's nowhere near as well known as Doom or Duke. I recommend Bloody Pulp Fiction if you haven't already played it which has a fantastic first episode although I feel the quality drops a little bit in episodes 2 and 3. Still is worth playing for the first bit though.
The only thing I'm sad I've never had the chance to do with Blood is try the multiplayer since I have no clue how to get it working nor do I have anyone to play it with.
...
>diablo 2 came out 17 years ago
...
fpbp
>Yes only because it's basically a puzzle game
>He doesn't know about rich lore of Tetris universe
Mega Man X
it's three years older than me
I'll check it out, I can never get enough Blood. I'm glad that there are people out there who are making such great content for Blood, it's such a criminally overlooked game.
I'm in the same position in regards to the multiplayer, man, same for Duke 3D. I've messed around with LAN with my brother with both games but I've always had them just randomly disconnect after a few minutes and never been able to actually play with other people over the internet or anything actual.
Have you played the Blood Alpha? It's more just a curiousity than anything else, but I've always just found it so interesting the things they took out/altered/added from the alpha to the final build. Especially that whole beast transformation thing that would have made it a pretty much different game.
Warcraft 3
Prove me wrong
Midnight Club 2
>horizontal fov scales with resolution, so supports widescreen out of the box
>soundtrack is timeless
>doesn't have the repetitiveness old games has
>doesn't have dumbed down or ridiculously hard difficulty, is always fun
same, but last week. old men threads reminded me of its existence.
Fable 1
Second Sight
Roller Coaster Tycoon
What do you mean actual sequel? There was Blood 2: The Chosen :^_
That wound will never heal.
fucking this, timeless graphics
I had actually never even realised there was a Blood 2 until a few weeks ago, it was on Sale on GoG. That was definitely a surprise.
I played quake 3 with my guild a year-ish ago
does that count?
Despite its age, its fundamentals are rock solid, there's a reason why its able to get mods like Brutal Doom/Project Brutality.
But even without such mods, its just still a solid game.
Multiplayer is still a blast. Dialogue holds up. Art direction is fine even if graphics are a bit blocky.
>Gears of War is 11 years old
Hold me
its the best game on the trilogy (still hasnt played 4), it has the best pacing and atmosphere, 2 is garbage and 3 is ok
>Have you played the Blood Alpha
I've heard about it, I'll probably end up checking it out sooner or later
Anyways, I'd recommend taking a look at blood.freeminded.de
For me it would go 1 >>> 3 >>>>>>>>>> 2 >> Judgement
I too, have not played 4. I've been cheated one too many times.
My main problem with the sequels is that they turned everything up to 11. Nothing felt right.
1 Definitely had the best campaign. 2's was actually pretty good up until you go underground to the Locust base, then it all goes to shit. I don't remember anything about 3's campaign.
And to show its forebearer a little love, Return to Castle Wolfenstein also holds up incredibly well. Fun, but not afraid of punching you across the face if you acted stupid or overly cocky.
I only played the demo of it back when demo discs were still a thing. I'd probably get the full game out of morbid curiousity if I saw it for sale extra cheap. I do like some of the ideas, like the Cabal now being a mega-corporation but the execution on just about everything was just off the mark, I know it was the late 90s and it was still early days for polygonal graphics but it just wasn't a good transition.
Well looks like I've got my videogame calendar cleared for a while with all these Blood levels to try out. The Blood alpha is quite strange and interesting to look at, even though it's (obviously) incomplete, apparently it found its way online when one of the developers took their computer to get repaired and one of the repair guys leaked it.
Skyrim
It's on sale for 1.49 on GoG right now if you don't mind giving atari your money
gog.com
I'll warn you though, it's a bit obnoxious to get running on modern computers or at least it was for me
Locust underground felt really bad. Why the hell were we only seeing Drones, Kryll, Wretches, Boomers... and then underground they have all these other monsters like the shit with the shields and tickers. Again, they turned everything up to 11 when all they needed was updated graphics, a new weapon or two, and a few new characters. Expanding from Delta Force to full military warfare was a mistake.
bump
I'll give it a look
>"The first game of the series Max Payne, was released in 2001"
And it's not just that Max Payne still holds up. The genre STILL hasn't been fundamentally shaken up like when MP1 came crashing down on it and showed us all how to do the hurt dance proper like.
Oh shit. I'm going to live long enough to see faggots recall Fallout 3 as one of the All Time Greats, aren't I?
FUCK
Yeah, part of the reason why Max Payne is so timeless are the excellent graphic novel styled cutscenes. Smart move by Remedy.
>Summerfag
Is it viable in fallout 1/2 to go full ultra jew
>2007 was 10 years ago
i miss blizzard north
who are you quoting?
Still one of the best PC games.
