Punished sectoid: a fallen elder
It's gonna be another shitty mod most likely.
Say, didn't the old games have recruitable sectoid hybrids?
Why is Long War 2 so boring?
emphasis on stealth
>real war
The problem with the game was that it failed to feel like a guerilla campaign like it was intending.
Stealth sucks
The first few missions totally did
It would have felt more guerrilla if the turn limits didn't start until you get spotted.
With 1.3/1.4 rebalance stealth isn't viable in most missions anymore. You'd have better luck with 3-4 person squad. It's still pretty boring because the missions are very similar and the strategic map feels like a chore
i just wish this game ran better
this, the music didn't match at all and the flying base felt like a total mcguffin that inexplicably was able to evade alien detection on a world where they had complete control and were also producing the only key to their prolonged survival
Apocalypse did.
The strategic map is faggot shit hope he changes it
It's a game on PC of course it runs like fucking ass
Fuck Fireaxis for that
We already have mods of playable Ayylmaos, why bother with recruitable sectoids when I have my snek waifu leading my squad.
This.
Even though the gameplay sure feel like you're a bunch of terrorists it's not really stealth when most of the times you have to kill every ayyy on the map to get good rating.
Base building is also boring, why don't they allow us to build smaller bases at resistance sites?
I couldn't fucking stand XCOM 2. Why the hell do they still have enemies automatically get a move to get in cover when you first see them? That fucking blows with the turn limits all the time, since on one hand if you move forward one tile too far you trigger all of them getting into cover and being impossible to flank, while on the other having people move and overwatch every turn to take their free shot is too slow.
And they introduce WAY too many bullshit things at the start of the game for you to deal with. Well before you have any other choices on weaponry or armor, you can end up with snakes that grab and disable characters from nearly dashing distances, stun lancers that can attack with melee after dashing that could reasonably kill your characters in one hit and otherwise knocks them unconscious, sectoids that never miss with mind control and take multiple shots to take down, and the goo monsters.
i agree on the first part but not on the second part because you are an insanely tiny force fighting against an established and spread out army that you should have minimal to no chances at all at beating
I don't care about the plot, I'd rather it be a game that's well-designed and fun with a logical progression given it's a turn based strategy game.
They're supposed to introduce obstacles as you get stronger or more means to actually face the new obstacles, not make missions a fucking dice roll on six forms of instant kills with enemies that take at least 2 squad members successfully hitting to kill one of them while you're already struggling with awful mechanics like the first bit I mentioned.
I agree
Why does anyone play XCOM at all?
It's literally 90% luck.
>wah wah i cant play like a boring bastard and camp with overwatch: the post
Have fun rushing in to complete the objective while your whole team gets demolished by ayyy
people can't handle it. Like, I'm not even good at the game and I can count the number of times I missed a time limit on one hand.
The legit problem is the free turn they get if you spot them
Ideally it'd be good if it played more like multiplayer where they're constantly moving and don't get a free turn. But other than that Xcom is pretty great
I really liked the idea of both sides making simultaneous turns like in Frozen Synapse.
will i get this for free with the season pass?(got the game for 25euros with season pass off a second-hand steam store)
>Why the hell do they still have enemies automatically get a move to get in cover when you first see them?
What the fuck this was the worst thing about the first game how did they not fix it?
>when you first see them?
incorrect, it's when THEY first see you, not the other way around.
