Tekken 7 is fucking trash and i'll tell you why by explaining you one of these BS endings and it'll be Nina's. Back in Tekken 4, she had arguably one of the best story set up in the series revolving around her son Steve and how she is chased down by Lei. She found out about Steve being her son and was hired by the same Mafia that wanted Steve dead. This story wasn't continued in the other installments and now in this bullshit game, Nina beats Steve unconscious? Really?! Even though Steve saved her from being shot by Lei because he knew she was his mother? Fuck you Harada/Namco.Other examples are Paul being a clown compared to his badass biker days and rivaled Kazuya. Now? He's a complete comic relief character running away as seen in this ending. Asuka being a link to curing/helping Jin overcome his devil gene powers since she was Jun's niece and all. What happened to that story line? Get's trashed because of Lili. You know... for fan service and no purpose at all. Never mentioned again.
And you people are going to support this? I sure as hell am not. Buy it used! Let your voice be heard. There is a reason why the Tekken games have been declining in sales and Meta scores! And these weaboos (Alisa, Lucky Chloe or Eliza) are only catering to those idiotic anime casual fans. They're cancerous and the reason why Tekken's dying.
Honestly, I like to think Tekken's story line ended with Tekken 5. Jin won the tournament and ended the destruction of the Mishima Zaibatsu's. The rest of the fighters had a good ending like King befriending Craig, Law paying off his debt and still running the dojo/restaurant, Lei still being one of the greatest detectives solving cases etc.
Tekken 1-3 were written by different people. They held a hand in Tekken 4-5 but afterwards they were not involved. Funny right? Those were the Tekken games that were considered great. Tekken 6 and upwards has been under Harada's direction and creativity and look what that's gotten us.

Anyone who's been exposed to more technical, more dynamic fighting games will quickly pass on tekken. Other top fighters, namely Street Fighter, KoF and MK/Injustice have advanced impressively in their latest installments; but the relic that is tekken just can't seem to evolve, furthermore many combos can be done simply by hitting 1-button, and the nearly "instant-kill" rage art moves are just laughably broken. Instead of a supplying a proper fighting engine, matches in T7 seem to rely heavily on "who can get their rage move off first". So many elements of the gameplay don't even require any sort of skill. In my book, slow motion over and over again also gets old very quickly. And in the end, it's more of a novelty or gimmick rather than an actual, thought-out fighting game mechanic. But hey, the casual crowd will be pleased!
If you want something a little more "button-masher-friendly," tekken might be your cup of tea.... Key word, might.

Tekken 7 has a great story, it's just about Heihachi, Kaz and Akuma. Also to a lesser extent Jin, since 8 will be about Jin vs Kaz. Everyone else is a side character.
People are just butthurt their favorite meme character didn't get a 20 hour epic written about them.

The story has some major flaws imo. for example, Akuma has a major importance in the story, but they were too fucking lazy to give a good explination why he was there. The "Kazumi saved my life" expplination is just way too simple for such a character introduction.
Charles Johnson
I'm expecting his whole backstory in the Tekken universe to be DLC. Bamco isn't as jewish as Capcom, but fighting games in general still get jewed super hard.
James Torres
>Kazumi saved my life
she saved him from SFV
Xavier Cruz
I'm seriously hoping that the jin vs kazuya story chapters get released as dlc later on.
Parker Miller
He's been playable in sfv for months so yeah not really.
Robert Thompson
He's still in it so doesn't look like she saved him for long.
Adrian Phillips
That's the setup for Tekken 8, it won't be DLC for 7. 7 was all about Heihachi's saga finally ending, he didn't just get punched to death he got dropped in Lava, there's no plot fuckery they can do to revivehim this time.
Cooper Gutierrez
is this gonna be posted in every tekken thread?
Cameron Edwards
What was there explanation for reviving Kazuya in T4 after being thrown into a volcano?
Joshua Martinez
The devil gene saved Kazuya in T4. They could easily ass pull some reason for Heihachi to survive if they really want though.
Sebastian Cook
Must be free then. The season pass doesn't include any story DLC so I assume they will just announce it out of nowhere or let us wait until Tekken 8 which would be a very greedy move.
Tyler Bailey
Heihachi was thrown off a cliff in Tekken 1 and that's the canon ending. Also beginning of Tekken 5 he survived a big ass explosion. But somehow a punch from Kazuya kills him wtf...
Jackson Morales
Well he did survive a major explosion and he is just slightly less stronger than devil Kazuyas full form, so its always possible. But the major point of the story mode in T7 would be wasted if they did that so I expect nothing.
Julian Mitchell
But what about 'muh deep emotions' giving him the power to defeat Heihachi
Aiden Cruz
I actually had pretty low expectations for the story mode but was still quite posed at how half assed it felt. Like what was the point of making the pov character some faceless no named reporter? The whole time were stuck hearing this guy's thought but you don't care about him. Why would you, we don't even know his fucking name! Why not have one of the Tekken characters do the investigation? Why not Lei? It would give him an excuse to be in the game and he might have had some fights in the story. Speaking of, ok so this is about wrapping up the Mishima story (and evidently not anyone else like Jin or Asuka, no they meant just Mishima so just Kazuya and Heihachi)but did 80% of the fights have to be Heihachi? The climax is especially insulting since its Kazuya and Heihachi fighting, at least four times and ALL of them you're controlling Heihachi! What the fuck! Why not do this thing where the final battle you are controlling Kazuya finally beating Heihachi?! Wouldn't that make more sense and make things less monotonous?
