They were both good in their own way

Runescape had good quests
RO had good class building and end-game/pvp content

Both were the only good MMOs, though WoW-babbies will tell you otherwise with their inferior game

>tfw I fell for the WoW meme

I still regret quitting Ragnarok to pursue WoW only to realize it's garbage, but by then Ragnarok was already dead.

This one.

do not illude yourself user

Ragnarok was the best one of all,no discussion

the amount of immersion that ragnarok offered was a kind of immersion that it's gone in nowdays MMORPG,it's was fun exploring the world and finding friends along the way

ragnarok truly was a masterpiece

Runescape

Ragnarok's grinding was really dry.

both were great

I played both games at their golden age. While RO may have better pvp mechanics, but it didn't have the feel of raiding a big castle which Lineage has. Defending castle by attacking from castle walls, destroying castle walls using big golem or cannons, RO doesn't have that.

>tfw when we got the sequel to ragnarok it was a WOW clone
I cry everyday

both grinding are dry

Probably Runescape because it has more variety. You could play with friends and work together on the same task or work like an assembly line towards one major goal. And that could be gathering resources to make equipment or getting quest items or fighting tough monsters and players in the wilderness. Ragnarok was great but you can't really do anything but kill monsters.

>And no, unlike official servers, it has anti bot protection.
"muh md5 protection" that costs 100 dollars for a server that has bots in ice dungeon and RMT up the whazoo

meanwhile official servers such as kRO and jRO are majorly bot free and don't have fucked up private server gimmicks and custom balance changes
>novaRO STILL uses pre-renewal INT magic damage calculations, meaning enemies will never damage you above 1 as long as you are in their level range

Don't give up, user. There's still hope.

those 3d models look really cheap

i got tons of question

>what does tells me that it's going to be good than the original RO ?
>will it release worldwide or china only ?

That trailer looks too good to be true

>mobile
>china

>missing skills because of mobile
>auto combat
>quest based gameplay
>party limit of 4
cant fool me, chinaman

posting ancient memes

No attempts to recreate RO will be as good as the original because more than half of RO's magic was the community. You will only get a nice nostalgia trip at best.
>will it release worldwide or china only?
Probably not, games developed by chinese third-party studios usually stay in China (license issues, I guess). Maybe this one will be different, who knows.

There's already an english patch for it. Dunno if it'll get localized or not.

I'm trying out novaRO and holy shit what a mess it is

you should try rise of midgar

I miss it so much

Fuck, the temptation of osrs is strong but hell no am I going back to making runes, mining coal and picking flax.

Questing and (the illusion) of world reactivity were so comfy, though.

I'm not that dumb

I was young and a bit weeb, so I've played RO and barely anything of RS. Both were good games.

Heck, I never saw a more interesting PvP than the WoE, a shame it got boring once it was "solved".

RO was better because of the siege stuff and the better guild cooperation core experience. Truly the heart of the MMO.
Grinding in RO was a byproduct of getting your guild in a better place with all your guild mates. Granted, there was too much ungated grinding that could escalate a single guild/alliance to unrivaled powerlevels, and that was a fault, but the core idea behind everything was great. Game overall was buggy and imbalanced as fuck and they never bothered to fix at least the netcode, which killed it for me after years I had played it and still suffered to that bullshit. I am actually certain that Gravity never expected the game to be good, it just turned out this way. The freedom you had in your farming progression, the difficulty of the world in general, which allowed you to fight endgame content very early if you were coordinated enough, was all spot on on principle.

Grinding in runescape was the core mechanic, on the other hand. You grinded for the sake of grinding. Was never a fan of it.

PLAY NOVA RO
WE WAITIN U

this is not a debate i'd participate in. we need to greet eachother in this instance as equals not as fools and rivals.

we both experienced magic
at the envy of everyone else
sold into bondage by a lie
the world they crafted
for war

>keknewal
No thank you.

>renewal
i'd like to play ragnarok if i decide to ever play ragnarok

PRERENEWAL APOLOGISTS SHOULD BE LYNCHED

Asking which game was better is basically an "apples Vs oranges" OP. Thread is surprisingly civil tho.

why ? i think that it's a good server

Not him but RoM wasn't literally Reddit: the server?

still better than atlasRO

qRO days...

>Shit mechanics that make the game feel like your hands are covered in honey
>Servers always have gamebreaking amounts of lag
>Try to walk away from an enemy -> they attack the spot where you were and you snap back into place
>I sure love getting raped by mobs that didn't used to do shit
>Only people around to help are retard foreigners that don't respond or drop the game after 3 days if they DO party.

Kys

classic/10

Dumb wanposter.
