Fucked if I know. Final Fantasy whichever is okay. I couldn't get into it at all. Couldn't give one shit, and it was just WoW again. Guild Wars was best back in the day. I don't think anything will capture me like that again.

As a legit autist, this is very mysterious to me. Whenever I play MMOs, immediately after logging into the game my mind shifts into a state where I think of nothing but the game and making progress. It's not as if I've never town-talked but I can't imagine using a game as a chat room, or as an RP simulator.

That's why it has to be more realistic. As if you were doing a real, actual job. Of course, people would make wiki's for that too. But people do that in real life as well, making videos on how to forge, how to be a carpenter, but how many people actually do it considering the time, effort and skill required?

Things that require research and experimentation would be the norm. Spending days, if not months to figure things out and create your own creations. Things not on an actual life of crafting, which again is why people would think twice about sharing recipes or crafting ideas.
This is of course, impossible for real life technology. Which is why I stated:

Crafting is a single player mechanic, and MMOs are about social interaction. There's no place for such gigantic autism put into a single sub-system. Unless you actually make an MMO whose entire focus is on crafting, and which requires multiple high-level players working in tandem to craft good items.

I played Eve as well, it was kinda cool too, but they went in a complete opposite direction. Changing the autism into what is practically a text simulation instead.
